Hi all, wondering how long after the surgery did you have to see the doctor again. Also, is the next appt. after that just for the fill? I have taken so much time off work for all the pre surgery appt.s that I can't wait until these are over. My surgery is coming up on Tuesday, July 3rd and I can't wait!

Depending on your line of work, you should be able to go back to work July 6 and have the weekend again to rest.

As far as Dr appointments, it depends on your practice's protocol.

One week after surgery - post-op follow-up with PA

One month after that - first fill and nutritionist appointment

Sman is right, everyones doctor/surgeon is different, so u will need to check it with them as to what the timescales are for visits :)

How long you take off depends on how you handle the anaesthetic, recover from the surgery and whether your job is physically demanding or not. I took two weeks off and am glad that I did. I was banded on a Wednesday and went to a concert on the Sunday night - not a good idea. Would have had my surgery after the concert but my surgeon said I would be fine.

I was off completely for one week. Limited duty 6 weeks. Post op follow up 10 days. Have a physically demanding job so limited duty necessary. If I had more vacation time I would have taken whole time off because I had to take heating pad with me to office.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
