Hi my name is Cynthia, im from Brooklyn, NY I have 1 consult schedualed and a seminar i must attened before i can go to a consult with another doctor(im not sure if im allowed to post which doctors) . Im very excited about this, it seems like the past 4-5 years i just keep ganining and gaining weight no matter how much i diet or go to the gym .....im undecided if i want the lapband (which is covered by insurance) or the sleve (im not sure if thats covered). Im sure im probally going to have a million questions for all you "banders" so thanks ahead of time!

Welcome and use this time to gather as much information as u can about both proceedures, dont forget to research the band with sleeve plication which is a newer proceedure, Making an informed decision is what will help u be successful in the future

yes i was thinking about that too, but again im not sure if the insurance covers it, when i go to the consult i will see what he suggests, im looking to lose about 70-80lbs and i need to see what the whole procedure i need to do regarding the insurance

I stayed 1 night in hospital. At first I was not thrilled to be staying overnight, but it was totally worth it. I was banded on a Tuesday and back to work the next Monday. Luckily overall my recovery wasn't bad. I had SILS (single incision) so only 1 cut in my belly button.

im hoping the doctor says 2 lol......i have two young children so taking it easy wont be so easy lol.....very nice! can you see the cut? im hoping the dr is able to do that. Im glad it wasnt too bad for you!
