Started Period 10 Days Early

I had my surgery on Monday and started my period 10 days before it came due ...is it because of surgery and has this happened to anyone else?

Mine has been irregular since I started my pre-op diet. I attribute it to the rapid weight loss too.

Mine was also messed up the first 6 months. I asked if it was becuase of weight loss and my PA said "You're not loosing fast enough for that to be a cause." Gees thanks. I really do like her so don't get me wrong. At six months I also had two in one month. My gyno. said it could be because at almost 41 that I was pre menopasal.

Well mine was on for 33 days straight ( not heavy just spotting) sorry tmi... But I have the depo and am not supposed to have a period!! Ughhhh!!! So frustrated!! Spoke with my primary dr and he blames the lap band... Lap band dr says ain't no way he is the cause!!! So here u sit everyday... Spotting!!!

Hey ladies I spoke to the doc about this... Its the rapid weightloss its almost like your body is goin threw a small shock its trying to adjust to the new you.. It took my body two years to adjust

The stresses of surgery and having the weight loss can absolutely screw up your otherwise normal cycles. Don't forget about birth control if you are still of reproductive age - you need to use it for at least a year postop, even if you've never been able to get pregnant before!

(btw, I'm an ob/gyn for what it's worth)

I was banded on May 15th and I've NEVER been late, but here it is June 6th, 18lbs lighter no restriction and I'm still waiting!!!!
