Banded Today!

Was banded this morning! Before I get to the "ugly" I want to say my overall experience isn't that bad!

I was banded around 8:15ish, completed and sent to recovery 9:20ish. When I "came to" I was immediately hit by nausea, anesthesia has a way with me so I expected it. My pain was around a 7-8. They gave be the appropriate meds for nausea and pain.

I went home around 2:30 after getting my GI X-ray and consuming about 5-8 oz of Water, and a all sugar free Jello.

I'm home now, and are BATTLING this chest gas pain, along with shoulder pain! I took 2 chewable gas-x... No relief this far! ANY SUGGESTIONS? I'm moving around every hour on the hour. AND what did you all consume days #1 and #2 post-op?

I CAN'T WAIT TO START MELTING OFF THESE POUNDS!!!!

For the gas what helped me was getting gas relief drops for infants, plus im taking beano, I just had my lap band surgery on May 10th these were recommended by the surgeon I had it with

Today was the first day I got upper left shoulder pain however walking and rotating helped to get rid of it

Yes milicon drops, works wonders I take them every morning or when I feel like bloated and it helps get the gas out

I walked once around the block right before

I took my pain medicine so every four

Hours. The first two days were rough for me. Hang in there' date=' keep walking. The gas x did nothing for me...[/quote']

I am new can you tell me why it won't let me register?

At first it did not let me register saying the username was taken; I came back out and tried to log in with the info and it worked :) hope this helps

All of the gas stuff works inside you intestines and the gas pain most of us suffer from after surgery is not in your intestines. It is lose in the body and has to be absorbed. It hurts bad and moves around. It will get better but it isn't pretty while you are getting there. Hang in there :).

I WALK EVERY HOUR' date=' AROUND MY HOUSE... MY HUBBY HAS BEEN "BURPING ME", IT DEFINITELY BREAKS UP THE GAS BUT WON'T COME OUT! I FEEL LIKE IM HAVING A HEART ATTACK, MY SHOULDER IS THROBBING CRAZY!

The only thing that helped me was when the X-ray tech told me lay on my right side to get the giant air bubble out of my chest, and it was instand relieve

Plenty of walking to release the air... However I was not hungry or thirsty.

I laid on my right side last night, NOTHING!

I know it's miserable, but it can sometimes take a week for that as to make its way out. As you said, it is starting to move now so you should continue to feel it moving further and further down. My heart breaks for anyone in pain, but you just keep doing what you're doing and I promise you you will be screaming "free at last!! Free at last!!". ;)
