Not Sure About This Last Fill...

Recommended Posts

I got my third fill on Thursday morning, so a little less than 48 hours ago. Did liquids for a day, that went okay. Tried a string cheese yesterday afternoon, chewed very well, but after a few bites it was obvious that it was not gonna happen, so I gave up and went back to liquids. Wake up this morning, drinking a glass of mlk but even that is kind of a struggle. Its goes down but I feel a lot of pressure in my chest while drinking it. I know that the fills can be tighter at first but then wear off some, so just wondering how long I should give it before i think about going in for a slight unfill. Thanks in advance!

If you can get liquids down, I say wait about 2 weeks. That's what I usually do. Good luck!

After one fill I remember I couldn't drink milk in the mornings anymore (don't know why!). I had a de-fill Thursday. I was getting stuck on coffee/juice in the mornings, so I knew I was too tight. If you're having trouble with liquids, don't wait too long! But otherwise, you could wait a few days to see if it "settles".

Have you tried any mushies? I would and see how that goes.

Also, I know may people who are very tight in the mornings and for that reason never actually eat food in the morning. It's a big reason many continue to have Protein shakes for Breakfast indefinitely.

You definitely don't want to be in the red zone. If I didn't see improvement by this Thursday, I'd call my doc's office on Thursday and get their opinion. It's always better safe than sorry,

I wouldnt have cold drinks like milk of a morning if you feel your band is tight, a warm drink stands more chance of relaxing the band a little , my band tightens up if i drink cold milk of a morning too so i dont :)

I am one of those ones that cannot drink cold liquids in the morning...It has to be coffee. I was tight with a fill one time, you will have pressure in your chest even with fluids. I waited 2 months, thinking it would get better...lost 22 lbs :) I finally had an unfill, it has been 6 mths since my unfill and I haven't lost a pound. I am going April 10 for one more fill...I would like to lose at least another 10 pounds before plastics in June :) Good luck to you!

Thanks for the tips guys! Definitely thinking temperature is an issue, not just in the morning but all day. Can get solids down okay, but a fruit smoothie is a struggle, even at 2 in the afternoon!

I just got a fill today and am having trouble with liquids. I wanted to wait and see if it loosens a little but the hiccups and foam and discomfort is becoming unbearable. I may be calling in for an unroll first thing in the morning.

Ug, I feel your pain! I was miserable. You might not need the whole thing removed; they took out .25 cc and I feel so much better!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
