if you get it removed now, then you can give your body time to heal and get your band in december; i got mine removed 4 last month....its no biggie!

Good luck with this....remember that they are 2 different surgeries and that they are very different....I am sure the lap band is easier surgery than the gallbladder being removed.

Get it out before you have an attack. They are horrific!

Some surgeons do both at once. I don't know if that's good or not.

I was diagnosed with gallstones in August after I had two sudden attacks (horrible!). After seeing the surgeon, I thought I'd wait it out and see what happens. I've only had one more attack since then. I just saw the same doctor for my lap band consult, and he said that if I'm not having any more attacks, we'll just leave it in until necessary. He also said that he wouldn't want to do both procedures at the same time due to the increased risk of infection.

So, if you need it out, do it. But if you aren't having many attacks, maybe you can wait until after the band?
