Weight loss

I was just curious to see how long did it take for you to start loosing weight consistently after post op? I know some people don't lose any the first 6 weeks, during the healing time. So when did the weight start coming off consistantly, was it after you first fill? Second fill? Thanks!!

I've been losing weight consistsntly since surgery. There have been a couple weeks where I haven't lost weight but then it will drop again. I've averaged 3 lbs a week. Don't get frustrated when/if your weight gets at a standstill for a while. It happens to pretty much everyone. :-) hope that helps... That's been my journey so far.

Try not to worry, if you get your fills it will start coming off. I took me over a year to really see significant weight loss, I am now 5 years out and I have lost about 140lbs, I stuggle a little with gaining and losing 10lbs but for the most part I am stable. I thought I had failed at this attempt at weight loss too, until if finally started dropping off. Hang in there it will happen!

I lost 24 pounds i had band put in sept 1 2011.i first saw my doctor august 5 2011.had first follow up visit sept 6.doc said i lost more than his other patients he said normally you lose 10-15 pounds.i not complainig.i started this venture at 311 i had my first fill last week.i had actually gained a pound but doc said it was water.i have lost 4 pounds in one week so i am back on track.i weighed this morning and i was 267.one thing i can say that i found is that those carbs you be sneaking in are really bad for you.i am now following my diet to the T.since i lost this weight i am no longer on any meds as of now.doc has stopped all diabetic meds and blood pressure meds.:P yea for me and i have more energy.tomorrow i am going to a concert with my daughters going to see luke bryant last year i didn't because i didn't think i could make the long walk to the concert area which is a long ways from the entrance but i know i can make it now.won tickets and free limo ride to the concert.

It took until my 3rd fill, about 4 months after my surgery when I started really losing. I lost about 10 lbs post op but that was mainly due to the liquid diet. I ate the same things I did post op as I did preop and thought I had failed this attempt also. Then, 4 mths later, after my 3rd fill something spectacular happened - I got full on only a few bites of food! And if I ate 1 bite too much, I'd vomit. I began losing approx 10 lbs a month. I thought for sure I'd be the one person that this surgery didn't work for. I just passed my 2 yr anniversary and I've lost 100 lbs, with about 15 left to lose. It's radically slowed down the past year, and this last 15 lbs is being very stubborn

Good luck to you!

Marci

it will consistently start coming off once you start dieting and exercising , good luck!
