Did anyone else come home with that breathing plastic gadget? I'm breathing fine it's just the gas. Husband insists that if I were using the gadget I 'd be feeling just fine.

Yes i came home with one also it is actually to keep you from developing phenomena for after surgery

I did come home with one and used it because it helps clear out your lungs!

Incentive spirometers are great, they keep your lung capacity up so pneumonia doesn't develop. Sometimes people don't breathe as deeply as they should post op due to pain. They didn't send me with one and now I'm battle an upper respiratory infection!

I can home with one and I think does help with gas in addition to keeping lung s clear. If u have it use it! It does hurt initially to breath deeply but its important to prevent resp problems. Hang in there, it'll get better each day. :-)
