Persistent Post-Surgery Pain

Hi All! I'm wondering if any of you are experiencing or did experience severe pain (stabbing...takes my breath away) upon twisting/bending after the surgery? It's been 10 days since surgery and this particular spot of pain (just above the port incision) is not easing at all. I asked the Doc and he just gave me stronger pain meds. I just want to know this is normal. Thank you!
