  1. Hi All! I'm wondering if any of you are experiencing or did experience severe pain (stabbing...takes my breath away) upon twisting/bending after the surgery? It's been 10 days since surgery and this particular spot of pain (just above the port incision) is not easing at all. I asked the Doc and he just gave me stronger pain meds. I just want to know this is normal. Thank you!
  2. Me too! I think part of the issue for me is that I'm starving on my pre-op diet and just want any excuse to stop it and eat. Wow...this journey has revealed just how fragile my willpower is. Could someone who's been banded please tell me that it gets better after the band? I think we need some encouragement....
  3. Hi All...my name is Anne. After over a year of waiting I'm going to be banded on December 27th. I'm so excited! I'm on the first day of my preop diet and have to admit I'm scared about the remaining 13 days before surgery. I have a big family party at my house on Christmas Eve and, of course, all kinds of workplace parties, open houses, etc. which all revolve around food. I never noticed just how much my life was focused on food until starting this journey. It's actually pretty interesting. I'm a counselor at a community college and am happily married to a very supportive guy. No children...in fact, that's the reason for all of this. I have PCOS and am unable to proceed with fertility treatment options until I lose the weight. Hopefully I won't even need to pursue those options once the excess weight comes off. My WLS Dr. told me he's had several women who "miraculously" became pregnant after being banded. Anyhow, I'd love to hear from those of you with similar situations! Take care, Anne
  4. Hi Carol Ann, I'm being banded 12/27/10. I've had the same thoughts/feelings as you regarding telling other folks. It's almost like I'm ashamed I couldn't do it myself with diet and exercise. However, the people I have told (close coworkers, family) have been supportive for the most part. I think just do what you're comfortable with. Good luck!
