Banded Aug 30 - phneumonia :(

I received my band on Monday and tuesday I ended up in ER with pneumonia

So on top of the pain from surgery I have a cough that feels like it is ripping my stomach apart.

I have been using the breathing toy and trying to do everything right. I'm now on antibiotics too and hope my lungs clear up fast ...

Anyone have the same thing happen? How long till you were feeling better?

Did you have a cold leading up to your surgery or any sort of illness? I was warned about this before my surgery so I took zinc and vitamin c for 2 weeks before my surgery. I am so sorry you are ill. That has got to be awful to cough with a new band in place. Chin up.

I am sorry, hope you feel better soon!

Come to think of it I did have a little chest congestion the week before. Ugh I'd be doing so much better if I wasnt coughing. Thanks for the well wishes. Getting better every day and down 11 lbs..

I had a nasty sinus infection less than 2 weeks before surgery. My pcp put me on antibiotics....that helped along with the iv antibiotics. My surgeon made sure i was on high dose antibiotics in the hospital to ward things off.
