Jamie go to August Rush forum, we are all having surgery this month!

I go in Aug 24th it would be good to have a buddy:smile2:

I'm 03 August, too! Are you having to do a pre-op diet, or clear liquids before surgery? I've been pre-op since 17 July and have to do two days of clear liquids before and after surgery.

Im going august 3rd also, no pre-op diet needed for me. I am soo excited but starting to get a little nervous too, I am just ready for the surgery part of this to be over with!!

I am August 5th, :rolleyes2: doing the pre-op diet now, shake for breakfast, and lunch and a low fat/low cal frozen dinner, for dinner. The first few days were kind of hard, but now I am used to it, I have to admit I love getting on that scale and seeing the numbers go down. I haven't seen 275 in so long...don't remember when.

My surgery is set for Aug 2! I did not have a specific pre op diet, but was required to lose 10lbs before my dr would book me for surgery. It has not sunk in yet that my surgery is Monday. Good luck to all of you :rolleyes2:

Brenda

Good luck to everyone! Today I started my clear liquids. Not too bad so far. It will hit me after dark -- when I want to do most of my snacking!

See ya'll on the other side!

Hi Jamie

I had my surgery last Wed July 28th, I dont have a budy yet to encourage one another and share the expirence with. If you are looking for a buddy let me know glad to be here for you. The s12urgery wasnt bad for me bit the back pain caused by gas was. Most people expierence shoulder pain but mine was between my shoulder blades and for the first day took two does of the vicodin, The next day tool one dose at night after that just ibprofen to manage any pain. Today is sunday day 5 and I feel much better dont need anything as far as medicine. The incisions are sore but other than that i feel pretty good. I had stomach swelling so didnt feel hungry. I am doing better now just dont each much because not hungry. I can tell you the fat fee jello pudding is awesome goes down nicely and no problems also Yoplat light vanill a yougurt is also good. For soup Iveliked chicken broth, cram of chickem no chunks and tomoato is also good. Ive lost 12 lbs in 5 days, i know I wont continue to lose that much but just happy that I did. Good luck on surgery and please let me know if you need anything,

My surgery is August 4th! Good luck on Tuesday!

I'm just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I hope you all had as easy a time as I've had so far. :) :) :smile2: The worse part for me was some gas pains on Tuesday night that kept me from sleeping in my bed for a few hours; I slept upright in a recliner for about four and a half hours, then went to bed. I have some soreness, but no real pain.

I've written a post on my blog about my surgical experience.

Now, I'd better go walk! HAHA!

I'm here! Banded on the 3rd. I had a hernia when they went in, so my pain is a little higher than expected after the surgery. I stayed over in the hospital and got home yesterday around 11:00. My gas pain in my left shoulder and chest have been pretty terrible, it's preventing me from sleeping much at all. Overall, had a pretty easy trip and I'm ready to move forward. Hope everyone else is hanging in there!

Hey jamelyn! Glad to hear that you made it through okay. Sorry to hear about the hernia and associated pain. I'm still having a little trouble with my left shoulder, but nothing I can't live with. The other pain is almost gone. Hang in there -- it will get better! I guess you're walking a lot? They say that helps.

Take care everyone, and follow your doctor's orders!
