I have been overweight for the last 20 years and have tried so many different diets and diet pills and weight loss clinics to name a few Jeny Craig and weight watchers several times. I guess you could say I am a lifetime member not because I made my goal but because i have joined over and over agian never with long term sucess. I would lose weight only to gain it back and then some each time. The past three years I started having horrible foot and ankle pain which I tribute to weight. My last attempt to lose weight was after a cortisone shot to mask the pain of my feet/ankle problems. For those who do not know what a cortisone shot does it mask pain does not heal it but makes it bearable. I joined a gym shorthly after thinking if I could take some weight off the pain may no return I was sucessful in losing about 10 lbs in about three months and then started to feel the pain once again and stopped going to the gym. I gained about 15 lbs back. I have been in this vicious cycle for the last 10 - 15 years. I first found out about lap band about 6 years ago when My good freind ad the surgery and had remarkable results . he weight loss with in the first year was roughly 100 lbs and 10 lbs the next year. I not only noticed the difference in her apearance but in her attitude she is s full of energy and loves life. She is my inspiration I want to be able to do things like I once did and quit making excuses why I cant. I just found out today my surgery is approved!!!!!!!!!:) I am so excited to get started. I have Aetna POS and all he paperwork was submitted on 7/16 after completing my 3 month requirements. I was thinking I would find out in the next 10-30 days and found out nly 2 days later I am approved. My scheduled appointment for surgery is July 28th it was the only opening they had unless I wante dto wait a whole month. I have my pre Op appt toorrow and am excited to get started. I have been reading these postings for a while and it has given me so much courage and hope. Thank you everyone for all your postngs. I look forward to being anther sucess story!!!
