Hey there fellow bariatric pals. I am looking for advice or anyone with similar experience. I have GS March 2014 with top weight of 250 at 5'6" BMI 41. I lost about 55 lbs which my lowest weight has never exceeded about 185. (Goal weight about 165) So, at this time, I have gained back some weight and am at 200 lbs. So about 15 lbs back again. My doctor recommended perhaps having the Duodenal Switch/Revision to continue to take more weight off. But, I really only need to lose about 30-35 lbs. I am afraid that I will get under 160 lbs and be too thin. Has anyone had the DS after the sleeve? Still researching and trying to make the best decision. Thanks to all for your time to read and comment. NY1966

Finally i can buy clothes again
Tufflaw replied to liveaboard15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Great job! Yeah I love wearing stuff that used to not fit and now it fits or is even big on me. I've gone through all my clothes that I had when I was smaller and even stuff I wore after my first surgery (I was sleeved in 2016, lost a lot and then gained back and had revision in 2021), now I need even smaller stuff. Originally I was a 2XL shirt and those were starting to get tight, now I'm a Medium (!!) and down about 10 pants sizes as well. I've been getting my stuff at the thrift store because I don't know if I'll outgrow them (undergrow?) and they'll end up being too big. Once I reach my final weight and size I'll do a shopping spree. -
I had my sleeve done in Feb 2017, but after the first year where I lost 100 pounds, I regained about 60. I tried doing pouch resets but they didn't last. I could eat a full plate of food, not as much as I once did (because let's be honest, I probably could eat 2 plates of food), but certainly a lot more than anyone who had had the sleeve should have been able to eat - the restriction was really not there for me. So just over 3 weeks ago I had a revision to RNY (long-limbed). My surgeon and I discussed the possibilities and this was his recommendation based on his experience as a surgeon: People who re-sleeved had the lowest amount of weight loss after a revision People who had a mini gastric bypass (which basically keeps the sleeve but adds a long-limbed bypass - usually about 100-150cm) do great in terms of weight loss, but at least 10% will suffer from GERD afterwards, which will require another surgery People who revised from sleeve to a standard RNY (which is a short-limbed bypass) didn't lose as much weight overall with that procedure People who revised from sleeve to a standard RNY but with a long-limbed bypass did the best with weight-loss and without the complications of developing GERD. So I went with this option (not only because of this, but because of other gastro-intestinal issues I have). In any event, I would talk to your surgeon about what you want to achieve and what is the best option for you, your sleeve, and what your own particular health needs are.

Band to Sleeve Revision
lucky1gg replied to AMJK79's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hello! I had Lapband in Dec 2009. HW 250? Got down to 199 at lowest.. Like many, I had success at first but then the complications set in. In April 2015 I had the revision to sleeve, primarily to just get the band out of me and not re-gain a bunch of weight. On revision surgery day I weighed 211 pounds. By October 2015 (6 months) I weighed 169 and felt GREAT... my lowest adult weight ever. I wanted to lose 25-30 more (I am 5'3"). Over the past year the weight has slowly crept back.... I weigh 189 today. I am going back to the basics.... Protein, Water and walking. My roommate and I had the sleeve on the same date. She had never had a weight loss surgery. We were the same height and she was about 10lbs heavier than me. She weighs 145 and looks amazing. We cook and eat the same things.... she is constantly snacking. I definitely think the second time around our bodies are holding tighter to the fat!! Best wishes. Just stay positive. At the end of the day, I am happy with my weight loss.... maintaining is hard and I live in fear of regaining to 250. I will be watching to see your success!! -
insurance pay from lap band to sleeve
neyney75 replied to lauriearnold's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am sorry you got denied. I would still try to appeal...also just a thought, most companies have open enrollment starting in November for January 1st. Could it be possible there is a different plan that might be offered by your employer that you could change to? I would contact your HR Rep and maybe see about this. I would still do the removal, especially if you are having issues, then maybe (fingers crossed) you could get the revision through an updated plan??? My employer, or husbands, is with UHC. My lap band was covered with UHC with a different employer. It was very easy, just had to show 5 years of weight and co morbidities if needed, which I had. Was approved the first time, no hoops. No NUT to deal with or anything. I was sure trying to get the revision I was going to run into issues. Still with UHC but with a different employer. But it was approved the first time, still just needed to show the 5 year weight history, co morbidities, etc. Just found out I was approved for removal and to get either the sleeve or RNY. Still not sure which one I am going with, so surgeon advised of both to them. Scheduled for surgery 12/4. I wish everyone could have it that easy. I thought for sure I was going to be rejected. Some how the stars lined up and pushed me through. But I really hope maybe some plan change etc could be done to get you approved for next year? I would not give up hope and really talk to someone in your companies HR to see what is written in for the plan. Like someone else said, each company is different. I used to work for UHC as a rep for the companies, and most don't know that it is their employer that actually sets the plan limits. Some employers are self insured, meaning that all UHC does is manage the plan and your employer pays all the medical cost to a certain point, like hitting max out of pocket, then UCH pays. Then there are other employers that are fully insured, meaning UCH (or any health insurance for that matter) pays all the claims and they have control over what is approved or not. So a lot of it depends on your employer. Wish I could offer more help than that, but hopefully that gives you a little more something to work on. Best of luck to you!!! -

wlssuccess replied to wlssuccess's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I'm feeling I on all the stuff u notes girl. I've been pretty lucky so far with the weight loss, but last time my body also responded really well to the surgery. It's of course coming off slower than last time, but a million times faster than when I kept trying and failing over and over again to lose the damn regain on my own. I'll be 1 month out in 3 days and I've dropped 17 pounds....very happy with that. A contributing factor might have been that I was back on soft solids after 1 week, not my doctors advice, but I knew my tummy hadn't changed, I just needed to be careful with my intestines. I can't begin to express again how much ur feedback and experiences are appreciated. I've had literally no one to talk to who had this revision with no change to their tummy so I've had to make everything up as I've gone along. So u taking the time to share ur experience with me is literally invaluable. Oh, I've been vlogg in my entire journey since 2010 on YouTube (cecelialane) ...check it out so we can "meet" and email me anytime at cecelia@wlssuccesswithcecelialane.com. I'm also on IG, ooVoo, Facebook (Cecelia Brown Lane) and Messenger So happy things are improving for u too. Now I'm pootying primarily just in the mornings, albeit about 6 times. Buta till, it's a relief. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Went to the dr today to discuss my sleeve revision...
marfar7 posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
The dr talked about how he was going to do my sleeve. He actually folds my stomach over the staples to prevent any leakage (the thing they worry about the most with the sleeve). Told me from my ct scan (they took a ct 6 weeks ago while in the ER for a band herniation) that I was a perfect candidate. So I was all ready to schedule my surgery for next month. Then..... He sent me to the insurance coordinator. She then found out that I had cancelled my Medicare part B last year (it's for drs office visits and since I'm a vet, I go to the VA for drs appts, I felt like I wa wasting $110 a month on it if I never used it. Medicare part A covers the hospital. Then she told me that part B covers the dr's charges, bloodwork, etc. Comes to $5,000! I can either re-up my Medicare part B or come up with 50% of the money to have it done. I call Social Security and they inform me that I can't re-enroll until Jan 1st and it won't take effect till next July! A whole year! So here I sit with a herniated band, totally unfilled. And I got on the scale today and weighed 177! I weighed 144 Dec of 2011 when I got married. I've gained 33 lbs in a year. About 10 lbs just last month. I know I can't do it on my own, I tried for 40 yrs. My husband is convinced that I should low carb it (he actually means almost NO carbs, he takes everything to the extreme) like he does. Keeps reminding me that when I was on Atkins in feb (I didn't cheat once in 4 weeks) I lost 14 lbs. Which I gained back the next month, of course. It's so easy for him to low carb it, not for me. He's very supportive of my weight loss surgery goals but thinks I could lose the weight dieting. I cried all the way home (a 3 hrs drive). I'm so afraid if I fail again, I will become a hippo and weight 250 again. I know that 177 isn't the end of the world, but to me it is. I have 1 pair of shorts that fit me this year (out of about 18 of em) I was wearing an 8, now I tried on a 12 today and it was comfy. Double digits again. Anyway, if you've read this all the way thru - thank you. I know I write novels when I write. You should hear me in person, I chatter alot! So it's either come up with $2500 (almost impossible), or diet until next July when I can have the sleeve done and my bad band taken out. I guess I hafta have it out eventually. I'm sure a slipped band isn't something that can stay in forever. And I loved my band. It made me feel "normal" for once. I didn't have to count what I was eating, I just ate what I wanted, just much less of it. I was so looking forward to the sleeve when I could have portion control back. Anyway, thanks for listening. Advise? -
ive been dealing the UHC since May now waiting to see if they are going to pay for my revision but after talking to them today they said #1 my bmi is only 30 and #2 my insurance will only cover 1 bariatric surgery for lifetime. It's still at the insurance waiting patiently to find out. i guess what i'm needing to know if anyone with UHC had a revision with a bmi less then 35 and UHC cover it???

Any One Here Had The Gastric Sleeve Done By Kaiser?
MamaM replied to yale88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kaiser Fresno here. I'm a little different in that I am removal/revision. My band slipped. I did all the classes and stuff w/the band, nothing but an orientation w/my revision. It all had to happen too fast for that. The process I went thru the 1st time was much longer and more in-depth than what y'all do now. The process is worth it tho. Once you're done, you'll wonder why you thought it would take so long! Follow the rules, instructions, guidelines and you'll do fine. Don't be afraid to ask questions and listen carefully to the answers you're given. Best wishes on your journey! -
Ok, I know this will be kind of long, but I am going to include as much info as I can about my slippage. Hopefully it will answer a question or two, or maybe help someone avoid a slip. To start, I was 209lbs, 5'2", not super overweight my BMI was 38 I think. My insurance stinks, so they wouldn't cover the surgery. I have no other medical problems or comorbidies. I was banded 2-8-08 by Dr Corvala in Tijuana, Mex. The surgery cost me $8,000, plus $350 airfare. My surgery went soo smoothly. No problems at all. I did have the regular gas pains, but I was up and walking the halls and outside the next morning. I found a local Bariatric Surgery hospital that accepted Mexico banded patients. I chose to go through them for my aftercare and fills. My first visit with the local doc was on 3-21-08 (6wks post-op). I met the doc, gave her all the info I had from Mexico. Did almost an hour consultation on the aftercare process. Then went into the x-ray room for my first fill. The fill doctor was super nice and explained the fills process. The contrast was gross, but oh well. I was filled 1.8cc. This initial visit and fill cost me $550. I was told to wait about 2 weeks and come back for another fill. I had no restriction, and my doc does not require any after fill diet. My 2nd appt was 4-10-08. I did not see the actual doctor, just the fill doctor. I was given 1.4cc and told to come back in 2 weeks. This visit cost me $385. I had no restriction still. My 3rd appt was 6-6-08. Again, just the fill doc. I was first given 1.6cc and could not swallow the contrast. He took out 1cc and I was fine. So, I was increased .6cc. Again, 2 weeks and come back. After my 3rd fill, I was restricted and loving it. I could eat right at 4oz of food and be very satisfied. If I tried to eat more, I would PB it. I was in heaven! Losing weight steadily and really with not much strenuous exercise. Just walking and playing with my kids a bunch. Then, on about 9-16-08 (7mo post-op), I started noticing that I couldn't eat or drink anything. I would drink and it would come right back up. I knew this wasn't good. I remember waking up on 9-17 and getting a drink of water and pb'ng a bite of food from dinner the night before (12 hrs later). I thought that I had just ate something that got stuck and it wasn't coming up or going down. I hoped it would clear up on its own, so I waited, and waited. At night when I was sleeping I would get woke up by my body pb'ng on its own. I had some heartburn, BUT NEVER ANY PAINS. Then found myself Friday morning (9-19-08) calling the doctor. I explained to them that I though I had something stuck and have been pb'ng for almost 4 days. The nurse very scheduled me for a "look and see" check. I went in about 3 hours later. When I got there the fill doc had me drink the contrast and said "uh-oh". My heart sunk. He said that I had a band slippage. Then he proceeded to accuse me of overeating. I told him that I was very set on keeping my portions to the 4 oz or less and I did not abuse the band by eating 'cheat' foods or such. When I defended myself with the 4oz comment, HE FREAKED OUT. He said that I should never eat 4oz, that is waay too much. He said that my meal size should be 1-2 oz and up to 5 meals a day. I was like "WHAT?!?!?" Finally he admitted that I probably did have something stuck in my band since I was borderline too tight. And that all of the pb'ng caused part of my stomach to come up through the band and enlarged the pouch. It is called a band slippage, but in reality unless a stitch is busted, it is really just the stomach moving up or down the band. The band didn't move on me, it was my stomach tissue. So, the fill doc took 3cc out of my 3.8cc fill. He advised me that I will come back in 2 weeks to see if the stomach tissue has went back down where it should be. I asked him about liquids or anything to help fix it. He said no liquids, that won't help pull the tissue back down. Just eat normal foods like chicken and steak, and keep the meals to 1-2oz, NO MORE. He also stated to me that if the unfill does fix it, we can SLOWLY proceed with very small fills and to be super vigilant on my eating because I will be more prone to slips from now on. If this doesn't fix the slip, I would need a revision. This visit cost me another $385. Then I get home, very depressed and upset thinking that I had done exactly as told and this crap happens. I came on LBT to see what info I could find about slippage and see what hope I have. I am very confused about different doctors having different directions and ideas on how to fix a slip. My doc says liquids won't help at all.... Oh, and I also found out when I got back home that all along I thought I had a 10cc band, when really I have a 4cc (10cm) band. So, I thougth I was lucky and got restriction with 3.8cc, when I was really very full and didn't know it. DAMN THE LUCK. So, now I am waiting, hungry all the time, I have 4 more days until I go back to see if the unfill helped fix my band slip. The good news, if there is any, is that I have lost 50lbs in 7.5 months. Only 34 more to go until I reach my goal of 125lbs!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that is everything, at least for now...

? conveting from band to sleeve - has anyone at or near goal weight done this?
Jean McMillan replied to mary murphy-dematteo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I revised from the band to the sleeve last year. I wrote about my experience on a thread yesterday: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/topic/163124-help-guys-band-or-sleeve-im-scheduled-for-band-feb1/ I had been at my goal weight for just over 4 years when my band was removed. I have excellent insurance, and it paid for my band removal in April 2012 and for my sleeve surgery in August 2012 because my surgeon's amazing insurance coordinator was able to use her skills and my medical records to prove that the surgeries were medically necessary. So if your band troubles have been well-documented (and surely a band slip and removal were well-documented), it's possible that your insurance will cover your sleeve even if you're no longer obese. Although I don't love my sleeve like I loved my band, I strongly believe that revision was the right thing for me to do because I knew I needed a surgical tool for lifetime weight management. I regained 30 lbs in the short time I was trying to wing it on my own. That is really scary, because I wasn't pigging out and eating stupid stuff (most of the time, anyway), and I was still exercising and generally a lot more active than I was when I was obese. Obesity is caused by our conscious eating behavior but also by factors that are outside our conscious control, like genetics, neurological and hormonal dysfunction, etc. etc. So however we lose weight (with or without WLS), weight management is a lifetime project. As for losing too much weight - I haven't seen that happen to a sleeve patient except for a friend who revised to the sleeve when she was at her goal weight, and then lost another 20 lbs she didn't need to lose. But part of her problem was the formation of strictures that made it hard for her to even drink Clear liquids, never mind eat real food. She had the strictures dilated and is doing much better now. Also, although the sleeve has micronutrient malabsorption, it doesn't (as far as we know) involve the macronutrient malabsorption that makes it so some calories consumed "don't count". If you can't eat much at one time, you can keep your calorie intake where it needs to be by adding healthy Snacks to your day. You might need to work with a nutritionist to do that effectively. I lost weight quickly after my sleeve surgery, so that for a while there I wondered if I was going to be able to stop losing weight, but my weight loss slowed because I was able to eat more (a normal consequence of the healing process) and because I was getting lighter so I needed fewer calories. I haven't lost any more weight in 3 weeks so I think I'm where I need to be. Good luck! -
Lap banders - Where are you?
Oregondaisy replied to Twice Shy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck with that. The people here who had the band had it removed because the band causes so many problems. I did lose weight with the band but I would have gained it all back because of band problems. I started gaining it back and have my revision to sleeve. Go to lap band talk.com and you'll find some people who have the band but most of them have not had it long term. There aren't a lot of people out there who still have bands after a few years. -
I apologize if my pics offend anyone, but I really want people to see how the process has been for me with at least some clothing on and to be honest, the granny panties just dont fit anymore. This is me, 5 months post surgery...still a work in progress.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for sharing what people don't see when we say "we can't stand our bodies". So easy to hide behind clothes. You are an inspiration to me. I am new on here and so thankful I found it. I have learned more in one week about the band and others struggles then in the last 2 years of being banded. I felt so alone until now. There are thousands of you struggling and celebrating too. I just felt like I found a wealth of friends. I am going through a difficult time with my port revision and weight gain to lack of "the right fill". This site just may have given me a new reason to continue with the band. I was ready to tell the doctor to remove it because he is not listening to me. When you tell your doctor the awful pain you are feeling and the weight I have gained back you would think there would be a red flag!! CT Scan on Monday. Finally maybe some answers. I may not know you, but I sure am proud of you and you have just given me hope again. Thank you for being so brave and honest...we all need a bit of that sometimes. Please keep posting.... -
Need advice and encouragement not ripped apart
carriep replied to lisalou1968's topic in The Gals' Room
I am awaiting revision from band to sleeve so I can’t speak to your sleeve issues but some things I learned from the band may help you. First, one thing the band folks say is “they banded your stomach, not your mouth”. So no matter what surgery you choose, unless they develop one that actually zips your lips closed when you try to eat something, all the work is going to have to come from your brain and your choices. The way the tool works is that you shouldn’t feel actual stomach-based “I’m hungry” feeling after eating if a small amount if food. But you will always be able to outeat your tool. The key is to eat your planned meal, then quit and go find something else to do. You don’t “eat until you feel like stopping” because if you’re eating for reasons other than hunger (like stress, emotional upset - all totally understandable, just behaviors we are trying to change) then you can always out eat the tool. FYI, while the other surgeries *may* prohibit you from eating the “bad” foods, as you’ve learned yourself, that isn’t always the case. I’ve read of people who would melt a quart of ice cream and drink it that had RNY or if they truly can’t eat, they trade food for alcohol, drugs, shopping, sex or another addiction. So treating the underlying problem is really the best thing you can do. If you find yourself with lots of appetite, you might be able to look to your food choices to help you. I wouldn’t have believed it had I not experienced it but the carbs, sugars and even sugar substitutes really do influence that “I’m eating and can’t stop” feeling. Last spring I tried a diet program from Dr David Ludwig called “Always Hungry”. It’s a modified slow carb program which has you eating mostly unprocessed foods, with the eliminated items being sugar, potatoes and your “whites” - rice, wheat etc. Yiu can eat whole grains in the 2nd phase as tolerated. The first 2 weeks is something of a detox from the bad carbs. There is a book by the same name that explains it all. Anyway, I was astonished at how well this worked for me. I used to take my coffee with A LOT of sugar and did so the majority of my life. Now I take it with a little splash of maple syrup (about a half tsp). Had you told me I could do that 3 years ago I’d have cried laughing. This is the nutrition plan I plan to follow once I’m all recovered from surgery. I’ve already learned that oatmeal ramps up my appetite so for me I just don’t eat it. I already kicked my sugar obsession and will probably end up making my own protein shakes after surgery because the premade ones are too sweet. I had a pretty expansive palette beforehand but now I enjoy foods like brown basmati rice and beans of all kinds. Snacks these days are hummus and cucumber instead of chips and I feel so much better. Whole fat milk and cheese cane back into my life and it’s so much more satisfying. My new love is quinoa and I’ve made it 4 different ways in 2 weeks. My whole family enjoys that. This has gotten quite long so I’ll shut up now :) but I hope you consider changing your thinking about your tool. Weigh out your meal, savor it then go find something else to do. Think about changing up your macros and eliminating those high GI foods that trigger the munchies. The number one rule of Always Hungry is “be kind to yourself”, try adopting that in the spirit in which it is made. Let go of what you did. You can’t change that. But every new bite you take is an opportunity to choose better for yourself. Good luck. -
I believe the issue here is the fact that your band is not filled. You have got to get the follow up care in order for it to work. You stated that you had twins and your saline was taken out. Why didn't you have it put back in after six weeks or so from giving birth? After care is the most important part of any wls, especially the band. I had restriction only because I did eat what I was supposed to and when I lost weight and felt I could eat more, I made me an appointment and had myself checked. Sure enough I would need a fill to take up the space from losing weight. Unfortunately 8 1/2 years later, I began having problems with it. It slipped, I lost restriction, gained almost all of the weight I lost, and now I'm sleeved. I don't get stuck anymore thank God. I still have restriction after I eat. What has changed for me is my taste buds. I can't eat or drink anything with a lot of sugar and I AM SOOOO HAPPY [emoji846]. Sugar was my addiction/problem and since I've been sleeved for almost two months now, I don't have that problem anymore. My suggestion is to get a fill so that you can get back on track. If you're mind is absolutely made up on having revision surgery, then good luck to you and best wishes. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

Sleeve to Bypass revision
Tomo replied to Victorooni's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
For me, it was an easier recovery. No new food aversions. I didn't have any before with the sleeve either. My gerd is gone an that in itself made being able to stay on program much easier due to better sleep, no fake gnawing hunger signals due to excess acid... Etc. It was the best thing I've ever done. I've said this before on quite a few posts but I feel so normal now, like pre-WLS of any kind, and I still have restriction. At first, you will feel that your restriction is gone but it isn't, it's different than the sleeve. Also, like the sleeve, wait until you begin solids because the fluids will just go right through your system. I had a learning curve to determine when I was approaching fullness. With the sleeve it was a runny nose. With the revision, I can feel it more in my stomach. I still get the runny nose but that is far too late for me so I stop before that now. The signals are different. I have not dumped, and the only symptom I have is slight constipation so I take 1 tsp of MiraLAX in my coffee every morning. Some need more, some don't need it. My vitamins are the same, a multi-vitamin patch, and depending upon my blood tests (I take every 6 months), I may take an additional chewable ADEK vitamin. -
I was sleeved on April 29 and tomorrow will be 6 months. I am down 100lbs to a weight I have not seen in over 10 years. Its really been quite effortless so far but the last month things have slowed. I still make poor choices and I dont suspect that will ever change but quantity is tiny and I generally think I have retrained my brain as to how much food to eat for meals. Ive achieved these results with basically zero exercise. I am not proud of that and I do think in order to get to the goal weight I am going to have to be more active. For now the goal is 225 but I do expect I will revise that lower.

VSG revision to Bypass 5/27/21
Chelsea11012 posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had a VSG in 2015 and had gained almost all of the weight back. On May 27th I had a revision to a gastric bypass. I'm about 3 weeks out and this stitch pain is no joke! I can barely bend or walk at times. Aside from that and unlike my VSG, I feel great. So much so that I feel as though this will not work for me. Nothing is making me sick, I feel like I can eat without issues. I lost 21 pounds the first 2 weeks, now this week I've gained. I'm starting to feel like this will fail like the last time. -
Surgery is around the corner
ShoppGirl replied to jesdona's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the sleeve because I have bipolar disorder and was concerned about the absorption of medication with the bypass. The dr said he recommended the sleeve because of my lower BMI but would do bypass if I wanted it. The NP said she would go with sleeve because it’s the safer choice in terms of my medications. I did not lose as much weight as I had hoped to. In all fairness the NP did warn me that sometimes with Bipolar disorder that people do not lose quite as much as those without it but I only got down to 25.7 BMI which is still technically overweight and then I gained the bounce back weight. I sometimes wonder if I had just chosen the bypass if I would have lost more and had a little easier time keeping it off. The only thing is, who is to say that I wouldn’t be one of the people who lost less with bypass as well. What if it’s not the surgery choice at all. Don’t get me wrong. I am still happy to have lost what I did lose and if I can maintain this I will be happy enough. I just don’t have much wiggle room and do wonder if I had chosen bypass if it would be different. I think it’s only human to wonder if the grass would’ve been greener on the other side. You definitely do still have time to change your mind though. They told me I was in no rush to decide all along. If I had more time to research one question I would have asked is if their patients that revised sleeve to bypass lost more after the bypass (got to a lesser weight than they had with the sleeve). I know that doesn’t 100% mean people who get bypass first will lose more than they would have with sleeve but it seems like it would be the case. They are both excellent and relatively safe options so I don’t think there is a wrong choice really. My only real advice would be to take your time until you feel confident in your choice and don’t be afraid to ask a lot of questions until you are.
