Okay, where do I start? I had the Sleeve on Jan 9th of this year. Reached my Goal in 8 ½ months, now below my goal. My stomach hurts, I am never hungry, and I CAN’T eat. At first it was great; I mean I reached my goal. I am thin. But MY stomach HURTS. I have been Reading your post about when hungry hit around the 6th month point, and have waited. But nope not hungry, Cause tummy hurts, (ok, I have said that point enough). So, I went to My Surgeon today, he put me on some MORE antacids, and did more blood work. He said to give Meds 2 weeks and if blood work looks okay he wants to do a “Gi~Scope” test to look for bile and acid in my stomach. And if it IS present, I would have to go from a Sleeve to a Bypass…. I am FREAKING OUT?! (He told ME NOT to freak out, but I am anyway) What are your thoughts, and have you heard anyone that has had to do this????

Wednesday I will be a month out....
Starry replied to samantha209's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 33 days out... I've stalled for a week and a half.. I've lost 23 lbs since surgery but I couldn't keep the mushys down nothing agreed with my tummy so I stayed on Protein longer. I average over 100g of Protein a day now that he's raised my calorie intake to 800.. now THAT is a chore to get in and I've YET to do it! The trick I've heard is alot of protein, and less than 10g of fat and 30g of carbs and it'll start moving.. me trying to do 800 makes those #'s go up so I've NOT mastered the damn thing yet and it's FRUSTRATING! LOL Hang in there.. the good thing.. it WILL come off... it may just take longer than others and it may go faster than some... just stay focused and do what you're supposed to do and having too much protein I'm told is NOT a bad thing so I suck down protein before I do anything else... and deviled eggs, refried Beans with sour cream & cheese are my two favs.. YUMMY!! Good luck to you all -
sick and constant hiccups
jekey24 replied to dcowens's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I first got banded, I had the hiccups for a solid week. It eventually went away. If I recall, my doctor told me that you can get hiccups if you eat too much too fast. -
I had 1 nylon stitch that stuck out about 1/3 of an inch outside of my clothes. Had it till my 4th weeks post op appt. When the nurse saw it, she apologized. They were sposed to take it out when they took my drian out before discharge. Oopy. Drove my crazy. Was always sticking my arm.

possible connection with bad constipation and too tight restricion??
Crishell posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this? I tend to stay constipated alot. This past weekend was worse than ever. I usually take a Correctol pill every couple of days if I have not had a BM. This weekend I decided to skip the Correctol because I was going out of town and did not want to have to worry about bathroom stops along the way for that. Bad decision. At any rate, I noticed by Sunday that foods were going down a little slower than usual and by Monday not even yogurt and apple sauce would stay down. It has been almost 6 weeks since my last fill so I figured it was not due to that. I am not having sinus or cold issues (I have noticed that I get increased restriction with that). I took a Correctol Sunday night and Monday. After they worked, my too tight restriction went away. Any one ever noticed this happening to them or am I just a fluke?? -
How Long Before Your Incision Sites Were No Longer Sore?
newskinnygal replied to WestieLove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say ten days to two weeks. Mine took longer because I had an infection and a hematoma, they took 3-4 weeks. They are still sore if I wear pants with buttons and I'm uncomfortable wearing a bra. -
It was this day last year I had a breakdown. I thought I made the wrong decision and was afraid three days post surgery. That was the last time I thought that. I think I am doing okay. I know I feel better. I can move and bend down and get back up. I love the way clothes fit. I hope to continue doing well and eventually meet my goal. I am getting there, hopefully the pace is okay, but I wish I had lost 100 by now. But the biggest change is I have fallen in love. I have finally met my Prince Charming and I appreciate his support through my journey.

Full but Still Craving Sugar Help!
ArialRockhold posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This board is amazing! I just found it after belonging to a smaller F/B page I am excited that I can get allot more info here because there are so many members and so much experience! I alsso joined OH! About me, I have Medical Insurance but it left me with self pay as there was some kind of exclusion clause. (Bull@*&^@). So I started doing my research. In fact man I did a ton of it. I have had some blood clot issues and was very concerned that surgery in MX would be the last thing I ever did. I found a Surgeon in MX that made me rethink my fear.. You see I got blood clots that became embolisms because I did not walk or move enough after surgery. That is the blood develops clots somewhere usually in your legs and then they break loose and either land in your heart, brain, or lungs. Mine were in my lungs and after a week in the ER I went home to six months of blood thinning shots and pills with weekly blood tests!!!! This Dr. made me feel that he totally understood my fear and assured me I would not have a repeat of this nightmare under his care. Yeah I know "they all say that".. Well,, I got sleeved in early May and am down 25lbs so far and no clots!!! Which brings me to my question and the main reason I joined up here.. I am very happy that it is working for me. I had a band and well that worked in the short term but... Ok my question, I am not really all that hungry but I am freaked out by these damn SUGAR CRAVINGS!!! I know it is all in my head but that doesn't matter I still want a pound of truffles or Hershey kisses or? I make daily shakes with lots of Bananas, strawberries but as you already know it makes me too full! Any ideas? Help me out here, please. Has anyone else used Dr. Juan? The Dr. Juan from Mexicali? I understand from other patients that Dr. Juan was a partner of a Dr. Aceves. I was able to get in on the Mexican Government's program. They picked surgeons from various specialties and then they pay part of the surgery. I believe it has something to do with Mexico's Medical Tourism but I am not certain about that. I just couldn't pay the full price! IThe funds were not there.. So if someone is in need of some help paying for their surgery you should try Dr. Juan. Well that's all for now thanks for listening to my story and I hope you can help with the sugar craving thingy. -
Congrats to you Jason. Happy Birthday. That's awesome for a birthday present. I got my 1st fill on my birthday last week and that was a great gift.

Stalling For 3 Weeks Now

humph, talk to me when your stall is at 5 months, like mine! -
Not sure if you are counting pre Op loss if you were on a liquid diet. The first 10 pounds or so is Water weight now is the hard part. I would stay with egg whites no yolk. There are a lot of fat and cals in one egg yolk. Veggies should be less than 75 cals per serving. Are you doing any exercise? Most doctors say minimum of 30 minutes per day. I'm at restriction do 1.5-2.5 hours moderate cardio a day and loose let than 1 pound per week.

Is It Possible The Pa Missed My Port At My Last Fill?
spoiltmom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got a fill about 3 weeks ago. He put in .5 cc's which should have put me at 7 cc's total. Normally at 7 cc's I can't eat bread or chicken and my portions get much smaller. Normally after a fill I also have swelling for 10-14 days where I have to stay on liquids. This last time though my swelling only lasted a few hours and I can still eat anything I want and I'm hungry all the time. Is it possible he missed my port? The PA is the one who did my fill. If he didn't miss my port than is it possible I have a leak? I go back next week I'm assuming he can pull all the Fluid out to measure it, he always does. Is it possible I have a full 7 cc's and it's just not working the same for me? Any thoughts? -
I have been feeling so good the past 2 weeks I decided the post-op diet was just more of a suggestion! I got a little tired of full liquids and decided to have a few teaspoons of peanut butter. I literally broke out in a cold sweat and thought I was going to lose my cookies a few minutes later. Maybe these Dr's really do know what they are talking about. Hello chicken broth.......
-
That's normal for your first week and you're just doing fluids now. More than likely when you start mushies it will slow down. You may even start to gain. Again, nothing unusual. So, don't be concerned you're doing well. Congratulations!!!

Ok so.......I am happily married and have been with my DH for almost 7 years. When we met I had a one year old son whose father wanted myself and our son when it was beneficial for him to have a family! AH won't cry about it, I only wanted a relationship with him for the stability it would give my son. Didn't work and God blessed me with the most wonderful husband and father to our children! Ok fast forward 7 years my son is turning eight yay and we have three additional children. My son's biological father whom he has not seen in almost 6 yrs does not call, write, email anything he has abandonded the role of a father and we are fine with that! Well I have to go to court next week and I am hoping to get him to sign over his parental rights! Mind you although he has been an absent father he has actively pursued certain "relations" with myself (yeah right buddy)! He never saw me at my highest weight as I moved out of state and the majority of my weight gain was rapid and within the last 2 to 3 yrs. Well I am down 40lbs almost to the weight I was when we last saw each other and I plan on losing another 5 to 10 by the time I have to go home for court next week. I am willing to resort back to the original post-op diet for a few days of Clear liquids just to blow his mind! ok so that is person number 1 who will need to close his mouth. #2: Growing up I was extremely skinny and the majority of my family.......NOT.....as I got older and began having children and gaining weight they went from calling me anorexic to fat....well guess what they can say hello to my little friend. None of them know that I have had the surgery but they all seem to have an accurate count of every pound I gained! Well I cannot wait to see every one that made the comment ooooh how did you get so big? or Oh you can't call that baby weight! I might carry around extra tissue for the drool. I made a post a couple of weeks ago about how I do not like taking photos well I ahve been snapping like crazy. I finally see a change when I look in the mirror. My surgery scars are no longer a mile apart, those boogers are right there close together! And possibly my favorite NSV was when a young lady I know said I hope I look like you do after 4 kids when I get older. I smile so much now........no one knows my secret but all see my progress. Guys that are pre-op it is worth it your quality of life changes drastically after the first 7 days post-op! And each day it gets better and better! Go for it. I am 2 1/2 months post op and down 41 pounds and I feel like a new woman. I made a decleration that I would not turn 30 fat and this time my words are not full of hot air!

8 days out, hungry and bored
Margaret replied to Dannymac's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try some tomato soup with melted cheese, Laughing Cow Cheese, and probably a very scrambled egg will help tremendously. I found salmon bisque from a seafood shop to be incredibly filling---rich but filling! I could eat very early on---about 5-6 days and really got sick of the Protein shakes early on! sounds as if you're doing well! I'm about 11 weeks out now and have NO problems except I do fill up quickly! -
So I've been sleeved since last Saturday and while I was in Mexico I moved immediately from clears to yogurt drinkables and custard cups. A lot of you indicated this might not have been the best idea (though my surgeon's paperwork could be interpreted to allow that), I decided to scale back to liquids for the second week to keep my sleeve safe. Only problem is I don't feel any restriction with liquids now (even jello). They go right through me and I still end up a little hungry afterward. Soup gives me a little satisfaction, but there's not a huge selection of soup without chunks for me to choose from. At this point, I'm longing for tuna salad or egg salad, for real foods that aren't just Desserts in some form. I'm also really desperate to get off liquids because I have very few choices that are low carb, besides my shakes, and those don't fully satisfy me. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it normal to just have liquids go right through you? Granted, the hunger isn't as intense as it would have been before the surgery, so that's a plus. But one of the big issues I'm having is finding "full liquids" that are low in carbs. I really, really don't want to lean too heavily on Protein shakes as I'm really sick of drinking them. But I'm starting to get the impression I simply can't avoid them.
