Half cup strawberry Greek yogurt, quarter cup fat free almond milk, 2 scoops of strawberry whey powder, 1 cup fresh strawberries, 1 cup ice . Blend all that and I can drink it multiple times a day

What is it about yogurt that has you focusing on that for meals? Is it always matcha flavored? Or do you vary the flavorings and toppings?

Nooo apologizes newstart38, thank you for sharking.. sorry you had a rough time post procedure and continue to have some issues even at home.. your not alone, each of us has had some sort of lingering issue or minor setback.. Sounds like your tummy hunger calls though are within reason, the trick is giving it something it wants that it will like. I was similar to you post-op day 2-5 I was not sure if I was hungry or cramping, one time I took 2 doses of cramping meds thinking i was cramping a lot but I was actually hungry. Over time the cramping will actually move either to the left or lower left of your incision, and then your tummy center-right will start to have its own unique space for hunger pain, it will make it easy to tell the difference between cramp and pain.. at first it all runs together. Now when it comes to food for the hungry new tummy, I too struggle with finding something that my tummy named "Mr. bumble" will live with.. one day I think i understand the routine and the next day he changes it. be prepared, have cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese if you like it, mash potatoes, and Protein Shakes ready to try so you can find something it likes..only take a taste to see if your tummy will like it, you will know pretty quick if it does not (strangely enough) Since you were sleeved on the 19th, 5 days post op, I think you will start feeling a sense of normalcy over the thanksgiving holiday. keep up the good work!!

I was sleeved on mon 10/8 and came home yesterday. Ive been focusing on getting my fluids in cant reaally get alot of protein in yet. Eating a littlr cream of wheat and thinned vanilla yogurt. My biggest problem is headache pain. I have sleep apnea and use my cpap. But even in daytime when my loritab wears off i have bad headache. Honestly this would be a breeze if i didnt have headaches. Anyone else have them? Is it possibly from the CO2 they use? -
I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?
gentylwind replied to Cappy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
B: 1/2 cup FF cottage cheese with 1/2 container FF peach Yoplait yogurt Morning snack: same as above. Only staying full about two hours now instead of four. Lunch: 1 1/2 cups V8 tomato herb soup and one slice FF swiss cheese Afternoon snack: 5.5 oz can of V8 juice Dinner: Cup of turkey stock with about four chunks of stuffing mixed in until saturated and completely soft Restriction is definitely going away and I am anxious to start blended meats and things on Friday. I try to stay under 1000 calories. Using MyDailyPlate.com to track my intake and it really helps. -
I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?

I'm still on liquids. I called my nutritionist this morning and whined at her. It's a good thing she has a charming southern accent and I love her. I was like, "mashed potatoes?....smooshed peas?.....cottage cheese?....." Nope. Nope. Nope. Thank God, she called my nurse and they agreed to let me have some pureed stuff, soups, etc. I had cream of wheat for dinner and it was SO GOOD. I've never had it before, but I savored every little bit. I can have grits. Not oatmeal, too many pieces. I can have yogurt, if I let it melt in my mouth before swallowing it. I think my surgeon is kind of strict. Pretty much anything pureed, but she doesn't want me to go down the smoothie road. She says it's too hard to stop. Right now I would love to go make some more cream of wheat, but........I'm not hungry. I just want to eat. I just want to savor the flavor of something on my tongue. I'm ready to cook up this Lean Cuisine Ravioli, chew it, and then spit it out, just so that I can taste it!!! I need serious help. Time to turn my thoughts to something besides for food. I think I'll start reading this Overeaters Anonymous book I just got in the mail.:cursing: -
Bariatric friendly desserts?
megansmommy123 replied to desertgirl6801's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dannon Light and fit greek yogurt. It comes in a lot of yummy flavors, and fixes that sweet need. It's 12g of protein, and only 7g of sugar. If you can find the Dannon Light and Fit blends, they come in amazing flavors. Key Lime, vanilla coconut, banana cream. They seriously taste like dessert. I can find them at my local super walmart. -

My first post-op appointment is today and I am so excited!!! Have 3 weeks really already gone by?!? I can't believe I survived the 3 weeks liquid diet... Hoping (fingers crossed) I will be advancing to soft foods today after my appointment! While I know I'll only be able to tolerate a bite or two (as even now yogurt/ pudding goes down like a brick), I'm excited for different flavors/textures! -

Lmao@Carly I ended up having some Greek yogurt. Felt much better too. -
Erin have you tired yogurt? The Dannon light and fit Greek yogurts are good, high in protein, low in sugar. Also cottage cheese or re-fried beans (fat free). I hear ya with the treats, it's like a candy factory in my house with all the kids stuff. I really want to go out to dinner tonight too!

How to eat at McDonald's after the sleeve....
chef neil replied to Coookies's topic in Food and Nutrition
besides the fact that the food is frozen, it is deep fried. you are getting more calories from the fat than the food- and at that high of heat, the nutrients you so need are ruined! I personally pass, stay away- that stuff is addicting and I have shook that addiction, Carry a apple sauce, a ind. cheese stick, an apple.... something... Honestly- if your stranded at McD's... there is a store near by... Grab a Yogurt.... If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got. -
November 2015 Sleevers?
Thucydides replied to goddess977's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks, @@bsilva! I definitely feel much better. I have a good distance left to go, but everything is already so much easier. Being 500+ lbs involves a lot of planning! It isn't much fun worry about things like can I park close enough to where I need to go?, how early do I have to leave for a meeting so as to not arrive sweaty and out of breath? I count Protein, carbs, fat, and calories using an iPhone app (mynetdiary). I am sufficiently nerdy that I like generating the charts of the nutrients that I take in and the pounds that I lose. I initially had trouble getting enough protein and staying within the calorie bounds. That is the place where using shakes as a supplement has been helpful for me. I start the day with one and then follow with a fat-free Greek yogurt a little bit later. That gets me to 42 g of protein pretty early in the day. From there, I try to eat something that gets me 20 g of protein for each of lunch and dinner. A second shake or a high-protein snack gets me close to 100 g protein goal. Honestly, I don't make it every day, but I never fall below 80 g of protein. -
Anyone for August 2020
JenniferNu replied to MotivatedMomma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just wanted to update for those who are headed to surgery soon. I am one week and a day since sleeve surgery and I’m pretty much feeling 100%. I didn’t really ever have pain from the wounds. I did experience gas, I wouldn’t call it pain but it was very uncomfortable. It lasted about 24 hours and got better with walking. I had minor pain when I left the hospital but Im a single mom with a one year old and it was hard not to pick him up. I had to lift him onto the changing table, give him baths, etc you know regular mom stuff. That pain subsided pretty quickly too and I didn’t have to use pain meds much. Being on liquids again for another 2 weeks is the worst part but it’s not unbearable. It was difficult for me to get a protein shake down this first week. They just felt heavy and sweet and weren’t setting right but I kept trying different ones and found ones that I could tolerate. Protein water has been a life saver. I found some sipping soups yesterday that have been helping me feel more satisfied. I also talked to my surgeon’s office and they told me I could try some Greek yogurt and that went well today. I went back to work day 6. I’m a teacher and all my student are virtual for now so I’m basically just sitting in front of a computer all day. I was feeling really tired like I needed a nap midday and then super exhausted when I got home from work but not today. Today I felt great. You feel better every day. I’m just so excited to start seeing results. I have lost 11 lbs since surgery. -

I have a hard time getting don that much liquid with the shakes so I have resorted to protein shots. I have found them at GNC, Vitamin shopp and Walmart. They are about 3 oz and vary in protein content from 25g to 42g. Theyre expensive($2-$3 each) but that's t only way I can even get close to the 60g my dr recommends. I also like Greek yogurt. It's pretty high in protein. -

But i didn't see that on my list, darn.Lucky you get to go to mushies already tomorrow? I still have to go this route a few more days, some cream of wheat would be nice LOL -
Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

I was sleeved on June 3rd. Still on what they call pre-select foods (fruitless yogurt, refried beans, soft eggs, etc.) and protein drinks. The only one I found that I can stand is the Atkins Low Carb w/ 15g per shake. I tried Isopure before surgery and it was ok, but for some reason, now I can't stand it...and we loaded up on it. Great! I keep trying one every few days to see if it goes down any better. Getting better at the water/clears, but still not close to 64oz - maybe 48 on a good day. Did anyone hit a stall at around 2 weeks? I haven't had any movement for 4 or 5 days. I know my body could be catching up; but I guess I just didn't expect a stall this soon. I'm down 25 pounds since the start, and 14 pounds since day of surgery. Am I having to great of expectations? Trying to get more walking in, but I'm just now starting to feel half way normal again. Still having some pain around the big incision; how long before that goes away? Still hurts to bend over completely and I have 2 small kids I have to take care of - so there have been instances where I've had to move them. My whole rib cage feels like I got beat up! Thanks all! -

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks for me. I am on purees for another 10 days. It is definitely getting boring and I am a vegetarian so that makes it even more restrictive. Lots of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta. I still need 2 shakes a day to meet my protein goal. I have noticed that I am able to handle slightly thicker textures now- still no big or solid chunks but I have "graduated" from baby food applesauce to regular applesauce! -

Every doctor is different! We were told after 3 days of liquids to start the mushy food phase. 60 grams of protein per day. Cottage cheese, yogurt, retried beans, tuna ,etc. along with protein drinks everyday, mashed potatoes is on the list as well, haven't tried them though. I don't want to eat carbs without the protein. I haven't had any issues. -

So applesauce, yogurt, broth or cream soup etc. then stage 3 will be at 5-6 weeks out till 8 weeks and that is adding in soft meats potatoes etc. hopefully the NUT can send you something to help you out as well. Good luck, I'm getting excited can the 18 the get here. -

I was sleeved on the 16th and am currently on soft foods phase. Has anyone tried fresh greenbeans? I just strung and broke a whole pot of them but not sure if I should try them or not. I have done ok on eggs, cottage cheese and yogurt but can only eat about quarter of a cup and then wait 30 mins and do the other half of the cup.
