So I’ve never been a big fan of the gym. I literally hate going. But, I love taking nice long walks so once the weather breaks I will be walking daily. I usually do a mile every day at lunch at work and then 3-4 miles after work 2-3 days a week!

Hi everyone, kinda new here but I figure I should share my personal experiment in the guys room since it involves "strange" elements. I’ve noticed my cut stalls whenever the late-night dopamine loop hits: doom-scroll, snack, repeat. Decided to run a one-week reset to see if trimming *stimulation calories* can help actual calories. **Reset checklist** □ 8 p.m. screen cap: phone goes in desk drawer, watchface only. □ 90 % whole-food rule (any “fun food” must fit before 2 p.m.). □ 3-min cold rinse after workouts. □ Picked up a silicone cage to keep wandering hands + browser tabs in check. (if you're wondering where it goes, the cage is from a funny shop called lockthecock so I'll let you figure that out) □ Lights-out meditation playlist, then bed. **Tracking** • Target intake: 1,950 kcal • Steps: >10 k daily • Sleep (Oura): aiming +45 min average • Craving score (1–5) each night **Starting numbers (Day 0)** Weight: 164 lb Waist: 31.8″ Sleep: 6 h 05 m avg Cravings after 9 p.m.: 4/5 I’ll loop back on Day 4 with a quick note (good, bad, ugly), then final results on Day 7. Anyone tried something similar—phone jail, NoFap streaks, cold therapy—to rein in nighttime nibbling? Drop tips! Cheers

I'm 55 and just had the sleeve done 3 weeks ago. I'm doing ok. Its been rough but I'm turning the corner. Since surgery I lost 10 lbs. Before surgery I lost 32 lbs. Due to loosing so much before surgery it's going to take a little longer to loose the rest the Dr said. I'm hoping to loose another 30 lbs.

My surgery is May 7. I started the 3 week pre-surgery diet today. I've started purchasing the supplements needed for after surgery. Looking for those after surgery "must have's", besides the supplements.

Arm lift recovery time
kristieshannon replied to FifiLux's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I took 3 weeks off work after my arm lift/mommy makeover surgery. I felt like I would have good to go back after 2. Barring any complications, you should be totally fine at 8 weeks. Your scars will still be prominent, but easily covered by clothes. -
I’m 52, sleeved on 12/07. I have a plan but all of this is still quite foreign. I’m at my 3 wk stall or something close but taking it one day at a time.

Hi, my operation is on the 25th may, I started the liver reduction diet today and dreading it. My local NHS hospital has given me a very small list of food to have for 3 weeks and not a lot of information. I finished a weight loss injection last week because it wasn't agreeing with me so my appetite is coming back too 🤣 such bad timing haha. How did people's surgeries go recently?

Protein and multivitamins

First stall. It’s not uncommon to experience a number of stalls as you continue to lose weight. Try taking body measurements. Sometimes when the number on the scale doesn’t move (or fluctuates around the same number) the numbers on the tape measure will change. -
'1) 30oz Yeti cups 2) a talking scale. I kid you not....I am 9 years out...my scale has a female voice and I love hearing her tell the news every morning. 3) a fluffy pillow to take with you to surgery. Use it to hold pressure against your abdomen on the ride home...and whenever you need it those first couple days/week. When standing or walking...that pillow helps. I learned this trick during 3 abdominal hernia surgeries.

I and on my pre op diet right now. I drink a shake in the morning and a snack in the afternoon and a pure protein meal for dinner. After surgery, it’s pure liquid for 3 weeks, which doesn’t seem too bad. The Premier shakes keep me pretty good for a while. It’s honestly not been too bad.

Weight stabilizing so quick?
newbegining2024 replied to newbegining2024's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just want to let people know I finally broke this horrible 2-3 months stall. I was so desperate and nutritionist said my weight was stabilizing and ask me to add starch…. It made it worse. So what did was cut going to the gym from 3-4 hours a week to 2 hour a week. Exercise too much also made me hungry all the time. Then I also went back to basic and have only protein and slowly adding vegetables and fruit. I dropped 10 lbs in 2 week. Today I am no longer in the obese category and now have BMI 29.9. I am just so very excited. -
I traveled 3 weeks post op, went to 3 different parks (walked a ton) and went on rollercoasters LOL. I had the energy and felt totally fine. Also, my husband did all the super crazy rollercoasters so that helped. If your surgeon is okay with it, see how you feel after surgery? I was totally okay a week post op and back to work even. Just make sure you go prepared with your snacks because I had to eat every 2 hours and you know how park food is, so that was a struggle.

January 2025 Surgery Buddies!

Hi I’m 4 weeks post op and have been experiencing a lot of stomach cramps nausea and going to the toilet it’s been going on for 3 days now anyone have any advice? -
Hi all! I’m entering my 2nd week after gastric bypass and generally feeling pretty good (knock on wood!). The only thing I’m really missing— like, making me sad, missing— is coffee. I keep trying decaf but I can’t do the taste and all I want is a sugar free pumpkin cold brew cold foam. So my question is… how bad would it be to get one? I know I could only do maybe 3 or 4 sips of it but man, I want it. Thoughts? Experiences? Thanks in advance!

Awesome! I am going to do these 3 times a week. Thank you so much. I hope this helps me! Amber and others have always given me good info too. And my husband just bought me some cards with instructions similar to this. He goes to the gym nearly every day and works a physical job. I just need to implement what I've been shown. I was walking and doing light weights here. But I need to commit to something more structured. I appreciate all your advice! Excited to get started! 🤩

I did it! Made it to Onederland
Mspretty86 replied to Selina333's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats on your weight loss! Major WIN love it! I'm only 11 months postop and I went from my heaviest 313 to now my smallest I believe 179. (I don't own a scale 😮) I'm really metabolically well, no longer on any diabetes medications, which is a major win. I do not want to get bogged down with reaching the lowest weight. I'm in various bariatric groups and I noticed a reoccurring event, People are consumed with the lowest weight and they're also overconsumed with stalls in which stalls happen. In fact I believe I'm in a stall now. Get as low as you like just try not to become over consumed with that number lean into being metabolically well. From my analysis on various groups that number plays with a lot of people's mental health and some people seem to never be satisfied with their current loss. We can't live like that! -

Sore and achy- 9 weeks post op VSG- is this normal?
SecretAgentDD posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi All...having some strange post surgery happenings and wondering what is normal. Let me first say that I do walk pretty briskly for an hour 5 days per week and I also swim laps 5 times per week for an hour. So, I am getting A LOT of quality movement on top of general stretching, etc. I am about 9 weeks post op for VSG and everything is SORE. My knees are killing me, my back, my legs, my arms..you get my point. Weeks 4-6 I was insanely tired and that has gotten better but now I have this new problem. I don't know if it's just because I'm existing in this calorie deficit or what. (?) I'm at about 900 calories per day and have been told to keep it there until I hit goal. I am getting about 80 grams of protein per day. I am very good about taking my vitamins. On top of the multi-vitamin, I take calcium, magnesium, tryptophan (for sleep), stool softener, ursodiol (gall bladder). Where I am not doing quite as well is water. Some days I am good with water, but I'd say about 50-60 oz of water might be my usual intake. I have a job where I drive a lot and I am not near a bathroom, so that's a problem I have to be careful about. There is still room for improvement there and I acknowledge it. I am working on it! Is this achy/sore feeling normal? Has anyone else encountered this? I'm not against asking my surgeon's office, but they have not been overly helpful with my questions in the past. It feels like I get dismissed by them and that has been very frustrating. I keep getting told "well you're not our normal patient" and then I feel like I am left to figure this all out on my own. It's lonely and frustrating. I'd like to do something to not be so sore, but this has been going on for about two weeks. Any thoughts? -
Hey y’all! I was sleeved on 04/28 so I’m one week out, however, I’ve been having some dark brown discharge (not super heavy) but it started 2-3 days post op. I’m wondering if it’s surgery related which would be weird right ? But I had my period 4/19 so wondering if it’s just delayed discharge from that. Pretty much wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Maintenance Preperation
Lily2024 replied to Bypass2Freedom's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@AmberFL I get between 1700 and 1900 calories per day right now, it's working well for me. I'm having a surgery tomorrow though and won't be able to work out for a least 3 -4 weeks and will likely try to cut my calories to 1400 per day to avoid weight gain in that time. We'll see how well that goes, lol. -
A huge fan of Zepbound!
Crisscat replied to xoxoMeli's topic in GLP-1 & Other Weight Loss Medications (NEW!)
I have been on Zepbound since Feb 2024, I have lost an additional 72 lbs while on this drug. More weight loss than my gastric sleeve. I lost about 52 lbs from that. I am on a higher dose now but have been steadily on it for the past 3 months without upping the dosage. It is not a dramatic loss but steady and Im good with that since I was at a complete stall of weight loss after the sleeve
