I am 7 months out from a revision sleeve to bypass. For the past week or so i been feeling very tired and see myself falling asleep. Automatically i thought of vitamin levels but don’t know if that is what may be causing me feeling like this. Any help would be thankful as I don’t know what may be causing me feeling like this. Also i feel somewhat disoriented and my brain feels like is foggy as i sometimes have thoughts take longer to process or come thru.

Will be 10 yrs St. Pat's Day. Lost 90 lbs. Never had a complication. Never abused it. Went to a teaching hospital w/very experienced surgeons. Have read all the studies over the last 10 yrs. Has the worst outcomes and the most complications for all the WL surg but the complications are more minor than the others and band is only 1 that is reversible. I had to learn a lot and be very persistent. Took me longer to lose. There's no guarantee that you won't need/want a revision with any of the WL surgeries - see the other forums and read about them. I have friends who have had bands, sleeves, and by-passes who have all regained everything and given up. But I have friends who have bands, sleeves, and by-passes who are doing fine. My best advice is to pick the one that sounds best you and then work that program. It's not easy - but I'll tell you this: 1 don't have high blood pressure anymore. My cholesterol is great. No pills. No medical problems anymore. Joints don't hurt anymore. Climb stairs. Had several cosmetic surgeries and love buying great vintage clothes. Love having so many people tell me how good I look. Walking on the edge of the ocean at 66 yrs. Just pick a WL surg and then dedicate yourself to it body and soul. Best wishes.

Did I Stretch My Stomatch?
Healthy_life2 replied to KeileeWilliams's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Check with your Dr. to see if you need a "stretched sleeve" revision surgery. Its rare. 19 pounds in a week is a medical concern. Normal for the sleeve to expand with thime. It's not "stretched" this is the progression out from surgery. The restriction is still there. After surgery your restriction is tight. The restriction will change. How much you can hold years out will be different for each of us. Surgery few oz Might get 600+ calories first few months 4 oz five months to a year 6 oz to 8 oz 1200+ calories One year out half a plate. five to ten years a full plate "Grazing" is usually the cause of weight gain. You have a new point of volume and sensation of full. If you eat high calories throughout each day . (calories can be combination of good and bad food choices) It's the same effect as if you didn't have surgery. An excess of 500 calories will cause you to gain weight. Medical professional explanation on misuse of the term "stretched sleeve" to back this up below: Dr. Matthew Weiner Published on Mar 16, 2015 "Stomach Stretching" is the term used by many weight loss (Bariatric) surgery patients to explain the changes in their appetite and food consumption after surgery. Dr. Weiner explains what's really happening and how to prevent it. -
Any DS or Loop/SADI patients?
SIPS in Seattle replied to GigiNFortWorth's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m a revision band to sips. Didn’t have any comorbidities. I think I’m a slower loser due to revision and if I’m honest I’m not 100% compliant. No complaints though, love my SIPS. -
Any DS or Loop/SADI patients?
angyplus5 replied to GigiNFortWorth's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi!!! I am not a revision, I am 5 weeks out and I've lost 38 lbs total. I had 3 comorbidities... Diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I also have Rheumatoid arthritis. All are resolved, no insulin or pills. I am so happy about that. I am in Burlington NC. My surgeon was Dr Jon Michael Bruce at Bariatric Specialists of NC. I do not regret my decision at all. I hope this helps you. Best of luck on your journey!!! [emoji1] Sent from my SM-G930VL using BariatricPal mobile app -

BeachBish, I'm actually scheduled for revision surgery with Dr. Jorge Maytorena at Longterm VSG/WLS. I chose this doctor because I have a few friends that had VSG surgery done by him and have had great results. The cost is 4500.00 for 4 days and 3 nights all of which are spent in the hospital.

Where is everyone from? Are you banded or hoping to be?
Janiecat replied to Jodie_G's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Was banded in May 2010 by the guru Paul O’Brien in Melbourne. Didn’t follow his golden rules and frequently overate, vomited and cheated with shakes and lollies. Had revision surgery yesterday to correct pouching, and ready to go again.....this time with a better attitude towards the tool! 93kg, BMI 35.4 -
Lap Band Removal Today @ 3 - I’m sooo scared!
SIPS in Seattle replied to CC722's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Removing my band and revising to SIPS was the best thing ever. I was so grateful to have that torture device removed. I too had trouble with water, it would get stuck and make me pb/slime over and over again. I don’t miss it. Are you revising or just removing? -

Are you revising to the bypass? Or just a band removal? -
Bless you - You sure have had a struggle with the band. Hopefully, this will be the new beginning and ticket for you. I've also checked into OCC - Dr. Ortiz... Is this where you are going? They quoted me a 6 night stay (Marriott) and revision - $9k total.

Hi Everyone, I noticed these are old ..question I had the sleeve done in 2015 I am trying to get a revision done to bypass I had an endoscopy and I have ulcerations and hiatal hernia in which the surgeon said he can do both will Cigna cover this? if not I want to pay for it myself do they do plans? -
I'm going to be a March Bypasser as well. Surgery set for the 21st. I'm a Band to Bypass revision, so hopefully everything goes well and I can revise in 1 surgery rather than 2, but I won't know that until I wake up from surgery. Fingers crossed.

You only fail when you give up. You clearly haven't given up. So, this isn't failure, it's a set back. I felt like a failure as well, I lost a decent amount of weight, then that was it, gained and lost, over and over. For 5 years. I stopped going in for check ups, etc, because I didn't' want to be "that patient" that failed with the band. Guess what. My surgeon not only laughed off my "failure" but advised me that the band was over hyped and that my results were typical. I still have a long way to go, that's why I'm having Band to Bypass revision in a few days. Just remember not to beat yourself up over falling down. Just get back up, dust yourself off, dry your eyes and get back on the path.

It depends on several factors. Your current medical condition, liver size, stomach size, your doctors preferences, etc. I'm in the process of Band to Bypass revision, I'm on 2 weeks liquids but I don't need to do the typical day before surgery "flush". As always, if you have a question, make sure to contact your surgeon's office. Never hurts to ask, and it's their job to provide you with the proper information. If you wish, you *could* start the diet on your own. There are plenty of write ups and instructions to be found online, but even still, I'd suggest making sure your doctor is aware. Good Luck!

Hi Frios, I UNDERSTAND. YOU ARE NOT ALONE, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY - YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!!! I too have a Lapband and can relate to every struggle that comes with it. I've had mine for 11 years and it has slipped twice (once required surgery,)and now it has a leak. I had not been able to hold any saline fluid for 2 years & I've gained EVERY single of the 135 pounds that I lost & more. I can go on and on, but I won't bore you with my woes. I finally stopped beating myself up & made the decision to get revision surgery in Mexico. Thank goodness that your band still works. You just have to remember that it's a tool and like every "tool" you've got to know how to use it. You've already had success with your Lapband which means you CAN do it again. I know it's not easy, but I can be done. You're going to be okay☺

This is a topic that I can relate to, because I have a Lapband that slipped twice and now has a leak. It was a great tool and worked well for approximately 11 years, but the last 2 years have been a struggle. Since my band can no longer hold saline fluid, I've regained the 135 pounds and a bit more of weight that I lost with my Lapband within the last 2 years!!! I was so frustrated and continued beating myself up until I realized that I can't control the fact that my band is leaking. Since bariatric surgery is an exclusion in my medical insurance benefits, I've opted to go to Mexico for my revision surgery. I'm scheduled for revision surgery (Lapband to VSG) on April 4th. I'm quite nervous, but it's something that I feel I must do. I know that there are many Lapband to Gastric Sleeve success stories & I just pray that I'm one of them. Good luck to you

To tell or not to tell

Only my immediate family knows. Since I was a lower BMI and revision well I remember all the comments ten years ago. So for me I am not telling and in my case since it’s not going to be terribly noticeable I am comfortable know one will guess either lol. I said I had a hernia repaired and that’s true my darn band did serious damage including herniated esophagus. Lapband 9/11/07 227 pounds Vsg 2/13/18 Pre op diet 188 Sd. 180 Cw 167.4 Dr. scale says says one pound less First goal 169 2/26/18 Second goal and doctors GW 150 Goal weight 138 -
Considering which surgery to choose
animallover1247 replied to MVP18's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Whether your GERD will worsen if you have the sleeve is a crap shoot. It may resolve completely or it may worsen, there's no way to tell. I seriously caution those with GERD getting the sleeve. I think they should know they may have to revise at a later time. Doctors say if you lose the weight and the pressure is reduced in the abdomen reflux will resolve. Again...it may and may not. My friend never even had reflux in her entire life when she had the sleeve and two years ago she had to revise to bypass... And im waiting on my revision date right now (unfortunately). -
Sleeve stretching paranoia? Week One VSG question
Healthy_life2 replied to WickedBoB's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Love this video the title is deceptive. Sleeve stretching is rare. Some revisions have been done. I feel for anyone who has had any type of complication. The term "stretched sleeve" misused by many patients to describe the normal volume progression. Your first months healing from surgery your restriction is tight. Further out from surgery you can hold more volume. (volume will be different for each patient) one month 3 bites six months 3 to 4 oz Year 1/2 a plate 5 to 10 years full plate of food. Thank you for sharing! I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Definitely do not want revisions down the road.. the more I read the more I’m leaning towards the VSG RNY ..I’ve been reading and researching which option I’m deciding on. My Dr isn’t a fan of the lap band and is recommending (case by case basis) which option to go with. Told him I was interested in going with the VSG method. I have a few appointments lined up.. he said I would have to be cleared from having GERD. Says most patients have worsened symptoms after surgery if they have a history of GERD.. also, I have a history of gallbladder problems [emoji57] It’s Stressful thinking about the appointments coming up.. 12 appointments total. Just started getting into the habit of writing down what I eat via Baritastic app... do you have any advice on what the easiest way to remember in writing things down either on paper or in app? I keep forgetting (I guess stuff like this is probably part of the reason I got this way) I also started walking 5,000-10,000 steps a day.. slowly increasing.. it’s a work in progress but I’m determined and looking forward to lifetime success.
