  1. The drain and staples are gone -- good riddance! ;-) 8 days since surgery and wow, am I hungry! Living on ~500 liquid calories per day (or less) for 8 days has not been easy. Hopefully I'll get my brain back soon!

I remember that stage so well. I felt so weak and lethargic. It should get better for you now and every week a little better yet. Congratulations on having your surgery and welcome to the losers club!

  2. What on earth does Joe's Crab Shack do to 6 little grilled shrimp on a stick to make them over 300 calories??????

maybe they high with oil on them before grilling.

I was just shocked when I got home - I thought an ear of corn and a few grilled shrimp was a decent enough choice at my brother's father's day dinner last night - yikes! Gowalking, that might be it - they came with a cup of some sort of flavored butter. I gave it to my niece for her potatoes, so maybe that's where all the calories came from.

That was most likely it, the butter. Corn is very high in sugar as well so be careful with that.

  3. Well, I suppose the upside to getting 22cm of snow is that the walking I have been doing is twice as hard and thusly MUST be burning twice as many calories right...right??

  4. Decided I wasn't counting calories for today only. Apparently, the band counts for itself. I had one Reese's peanut butter egg and promptly got the "full signal". *laughs*

  5. Not so much as an ounce off my weight this week :( How is this possible, I know in cardio ALONE this week I burned 2050 calories, plus my strength training for 1 hour 2 days this week! Oh well time to look over the calories and figure out what I need to do to get this blasted scale moving!

  6. Feeling weak. I have had low blood sugar now for a couple of days and am starting to feel it affect my daily life. I feel impatient and weak. Should I throw in a protein shake, or increase my calories? I find it hard to get 1,000 calories into my body some days. (Lost a total of 25 lbs in five weeks.) Suggestions?

  11. Had Surgery on 7/11/11, how many calories should i really be eating at this point? 38 pounds down

  12. I am at a stall. I had surgery one month ago. Down 20 pounds. I eat about 1000-1200 calories daily, and ride my bike at 21MPH for one hour six days a week. My clothes are feeling wonderful with muscles tightening up everywhere. But I feel the scale should be showing a bigger loss. A fear for me is could I be eating too little calories? I'm afraid that my body is thinking that it's in starvation mode and holding onto what I eat. FYI - my calories are 80% protein. Less than 10g of sug...

  13. Starting to calorie count and protien count, trying to get into the groove before surgery so I am not struggling as bad as I could be. Also got my appt for the seminar and my surgeon eval.!

  14. WOW!!! I beat the scale this week. Spin classes and calorie counting helped me lose 6 pounds this week. Take that Bandster Hell lol

  15. So pleased!! My co-ordinator is really pleased with my 5lb in 5days loss than I can continue with calorie counting rather than change to liquid diet in last week! Phew ;0)

  17. I'm not even sure where my port site is, although I'm guessing it's under my breast bone - why couldn't he have put it elsewhere? But yeah, that's definitely where it hurts the most. Where is yours? Too bad you're so hungry - I'm not really hungry at all. I'm struggling to get any calories in, since drinking gives me all these gas pains! It's also hard for me to walk, because it feels like I pulled a muscle in my calf, so I'm limping. Did you get any fill when you got your band in? My surgeon put in 2cc.

  19. So funny, a broiled piece of cod sounds heavenly, haha! I can't have anything "solid". I did my calorie count yesterday, it was only like 480 I think, its difficult getting in calories with these food choices. I have a much better attitude today regarding the eating, guess I had to wrap my mind around the fact that I COULDN"T EAT! HOpe you have a great day, NUMBER TWO.

  20. Im preop. i hopefulyl will be having the surgery in september. it's hard Im 382 so they wanted me to lose 40 lbs before surgery. I've started a 6 week diet and the first 2 weeks are all liquid and I'm dying because it's 4 ensures/glucerna or protein shakes not to exceed 1000 calories per day and 2 cups of vegetables. If you want you can im me on aol instant messenger at rnny0603

  21. That's awesome. I know I was excited when I got my date for the surgery. They are doing it differently now though because I knew mine after my first appointment with Dr. Lutfi. Erin will have you go on a 2 week liquid diet pre op. I did the slim fast low carb and lost 20 pounds. I bought a case of 15 from Sam's club for about $20. Then after surgery I bought the sugar free jellos and sugar free popsicles. I had broth too. You will be on clear liquids the first 2 weeks then full liquids. On the full liquids I had the slim fast and the 80 calorie yogurt , jello, sugar free pudding. I even made egg white scrambled and added a slice of fat free cheese. Just wanted to give you an idea of what to look forward to post op. I got my staples out a week after surgery and was told I could exercise again. I walk and go to the YMCA. My seminar was Feb 17, my consultation was in March, that day I got my surgery date of May 18 so yeah you are close. I am excited for you.

  22. Its way too soon....

I am what you call a workout-aholic... I work out every day! sometimes 2 times a day depending on if I wake up in time to do it before work.

I dont cheat or even think of cheating, I drink TONS of water and eat between 950-1100 calories a day. Im very strict with my diet and I only eat good for me foods now. This bacon cheeseburger quiche was pushing it for me My daughter Loved it tho. I rarely eat beef, I mostly eat fish, turkey, and chicken.

But what has really done it is the working out. so If I could say anything just give it time and workout when you are able to again!! Good Luck!!!

  23. JessiA,

I am so new to this website didn't even know how to get your message. I am on softs, or not so much really. I been suffering because bad choices in things to eat. I do feel full, different full but full after much less, but I can't wait to be filled. I have even eaten salad just not much. I like tuna, easy to chew and make soft. I like cheese but thought about calories and going to start buying less fat cheese, but one slice helps me out. I have done fruit soft. I have had one night not proud of, did go out to eat ate 8bits salad slice bread and 2oz of meat, 1/4 baked potato and was very full. Then 3 hours later snack with kids at movies with candy and popcorn and was in pain. I paid for that. So, with this I think we learn our lesson and keep learning until we start losing. This has been the toughest baddle of my life, Losing weight. I gotta give time and for my body to heal and ajust to this new life. I will see the scale move. YOU will see the scale move.

  24. chicken fajitas...that way u can get chicken and veggies at the sametime..i cut the chicken up in small strips...i mix ground turkey (cook it with taco seasoning) and mix the turkey with some refried beans...scramble 2 eggs...spread a tablespoon of refired beans over the eggs...and then melt cheese over the top...everyonce in awhile i'll eat carne asada...read meat...if its not ground...keeps me full all day...which is a good thing for some people...but i need the calories to burn off...refried beans will get me real full too...i eat as much salsa as i want with everything...another secret to staying full b4 u hit ur sweet spot is to eat a tablespoon of pnut butter....any kind...the pnut butter sticks in the pouch...then eat ur meal and that will sit on top of the pnut butter...

  25. My surgeon just requires you to go on a 1200 calorie a day diet for two weeks. Its not bad since thats around what I usually eat a day anyway. Two days prior I go on an all liquid diet. But I have found a protein shake I really like so I don't imagine it'll be too bad. Wow the 24th! It sneaks up on you doesn't it?
