I think that the only reason I was able to do the liquid diet was because I was afraid of complications with the surgery, so that kept me in check. After the surgery, I went back to classes the next day, I was sore, but it wasn't too bad at all. The first 2 weeks after surgery, I didn't feel hungry at all, so it wasn't hard to not eat solids at all. I barely ate anything at all because I felt really full and uncomfortable even after a couple of spoonfuls of soup.
Was that helpful? I can answer any other questions you have as well.

I'm lucky I got a picture of myself for the avatar! No idea how to use the weight ticker thing. If you figure it out, let me know. I have not microwaved the egg beaters. I'll have to try it. I havent lost any weight this week, granted I havent gained any either. I'm a tad disappointed but at least I'm not gaining. And I'm doing the regimen the nutritionist gave me. So I trust them. I'm just so impatient about the weight loss. Have a great weekend!! IT's finally not going to rain in Boston this weekend, so I plan on enjoying the sun! Jen

In your photo album you mention a trainer? What is it you're doing for exercise? I'm about 2 1/2 wks post op and the last week and a half I've just been walking 30 mins a day, but I see a difference. FYI-You are super beautiful as it is! I bet you've always wished people complimented your body like they do your face!!! Oh yeah I'm in PHnx too, Mesa!

Hi. Thank you for commenting on my blog. Today I went into the hospital for a right arm manipulation. I am still a bit groggy. I had over 12 weeks of therapy that didn't unfreeze it. The pain started 3 days after my lapband surgery. I can't say for sure but I assume it was caused by them tipping me up legs high to have everything slide out of the way for the surgery. My left arm had it happen a few years ago after a knee surgery so it might be hereditary joint problems or something.
As for the lap band frustration, I stuck with reading for hours on this site and felt a bit more encouraged to stick with it and try harder. I think that is what I need most is encouragement. My husband thinks he is the food police and has a prefixed WW type diet in his mind of what I should eat. It is a constant anger source for me but we had so many talks and it he won't quit with his judgemental comments and glances. So I am here everyday to make it work.

So how did june fill go and are the scales moving down? Doing church playdays and buck outs for the summer, lots a fun!

Thank you for the offer, I did go ahead a buy 3 different of Unjury so I think I will be good for awhile. I did have a few questions if you don't mind. I have been reading different q&a on different sites about the band. I keep seeing these stories about all the problems people have had with the band, such a vomiting, not able to keep anything down, bad pain, slimming, and something called PBing or PDing( do you know what that is?) I guess I should not be reading any of the bad stuff, my surgery is this Monday at 11:00 with Dr. Price and I am getting very nervous. I know I am doing the right thing, but I keep questioning myself about my decission. Did you feel the same way before your surgery? Dr Price told me that this will be easier than my gallbladder surgery I have a few years ago. Were you in much pain after your surgery and have you had any big problems with the band? Thanks for any insite you can give me.

Hey Sara,
How are you doing? I was with you at the OCC May 22. You have talked with my brother a few times. I'm Linda (AnewLinda) Here and the OCC site. I have also wrote my name & contact info in Dr. O book you had at the OCC. Waiting for my pass port card at this time then plan on setting my fill appointment can't wait! If it gets here soon I may try to get in before the 18th, I'm sure they said we could get a fill anytime after 6 weeks...I'm so ready! If they won't let me in before the 18th then I would love to meet and go to the clinic.
Talk at you soon, Linda

I'm just looking for someone who is online now that can answer these "duh" questions about the protein drinks: Do we consider them a food or a liquid? When I eat something for breakfast i.e. boiled egg, do I have to wait an hour BEFORE I drink a protein shake (like it was a liquid) or treat it as a food and wait an hour AFTER I drink it? And since they are liquid consistency how do I get the benefit of the protein--don't they just go right through like slider foods?
I know I should probably know this but I am a bit lacking in education of the basics. I left a message for my dr office to call me, but I need to know before next week
Thanks for your response,
Scout

G'day, ur doing so well !!!! I have lost about 33lbs. A lot slower then i would like, but at least it is comming off. I have worked out it is only 1lb a week, I have 5.8cc in and think or rather am hoping by 6.5cc i will have reached my sweet spot. I can feel restriction if i eat fast and have had about 3 moments where i wondered if the food might go down but it only took a minute and i was fine. (that was with bread twice and steak once) Thankfully i am not at the point where i think i would vomit or anything. Going by only 1lb a week i should loose at least another 26lbs by the end of the year, that would mean i will be well over half way. It would be nice if i can make that goal or better yet a little more. My dream goal by the end of the year would be another 35lbs and then i will be under 200lbs and that will sound so much better
By the way i am quite tall 174cm, lol.... cause i just thought 200lbs sounds bad too. lmao

Hi, sorry it took so long for me to answer you. Good luck on your journey! I wish I could tell you I did something special but I just followed the doctors rules. Honestly I think the band adjusted my head too! The way I look at food has changed. Suddenly I Want to eat healthy. Before the band I didnt care. I do work out 5 days a week. It took me 6 months before I could say I enjoy it. Now I take several classes and love it! Let me know how you are doing. Best of luck - Diane

JessiA,
I am so new to this website didn't even know how to get your message. I am on softs, or not so much really. I been suffering because bad choices in things to eat. I do feel full, different full but full after much less, but I can't wait to be filled. I have even eaten salad just not much. I like tuna, easy to chew and make soft. I like cheese but thought about calories and going to start buying less fat cheese, but one slice helps me out. I have done fruit soft. I have had one night not proud of, did go out to eat ate 8bits salad slice bread and 2oz of meat, 1/4 baked potato and was very full. Then 3 hours later snack with kids at movies with candy and popcorn and was in pain. I paid for that. So, with this I think we learn our lesson and keep learning until we start losing. This has been the toughest baddle of my life, Losing weight. I gotta give time and for my body to heal and ajust to this new life. I will see the scale move. YOU will see the scale move.

I have to do protein shakes for breakfast and lunch with a snack of yogart and a piece of fruit. Then for dinner i get 3 oz of meat and a cup of veggies. If i dont lose wieght on this...i dont know what else to say. Today is the beginning of our new lives!!

Wow, I bet the Russian was a nightmare! The hubby went down last week on Wednesday & Thursday - he said it was combat fishin' at it's finest. I wanted to go, but knew if it was that crowded that those people would have killed me as I would have been the one to snag all their lines as we fish elbow to elbow!
My preference is Deep Creek or Whittier (we have an offshore fishing boat). We dipnet on the Copper River (using a friend's river boat) and use our smaller boat for the Kenai Dipnetting - so needless to say, I'll have PLENTY of PROTEIN to eat when I get the lap band.
We are retired Air Force (hubby retired in 2002) and decided to come back to Alaska to retire (we were previously stationed here from 1994-1998). The only negative thing about AK is being so far away from family.
Love to hear how your journey goes .....
C'Ya,
Tammy

My surgeon just requires you to go on a 1200 calorie a day diet for two weeks. Its not bad since thats around what I usually eat a day anyway. Two days prior I go on an all liquid diet. But I have found a protein shake I really like so I don't imagine it'll be too bad. Wow the 24th! It sneaks up on you doesn't it?
