aww. I'm so sorry to hear that you're in a lot of pain. What did they give you for meds? I did have trouble dressing myself for at least 3 days and my doc said I couldn't shower for 48 hrs after the surgery. Trust me it will get better! I think what helped with my healing process was walking around a lot. You have to keep moving (at least when you're awake) I do hope you feel better. Get your rest! xoxo

Oh gosh....CRAVINGS!!! lol i hear ya!
I just some jello so i'm "ok" right now.
If you don't mind me asking how much weight do you have to lose? Last time i was weighed, i was at 350. that was at the end of december.
God i hate to even type that, but this whole process has been such an eye opener for me. I think i had the exact opposite of anerexia...my image of myself was so distorted that i never saw how big i really was.
Today i boiled chicken for everyone. added some carrots and onions gave the goods the the family and drank some broth. it was yummy.
having people nearby who have had the surgery as well has been a big help. and inspiration. since my boss is pretty much 7 weeks ahead of me, i ask her all sorts of questions.
if you would like we can exchange phone numbers and text or chat.
no pressure....and i hope i don't freak you out! lol the internet is a scary place.
wozers,i need to get to bed! lol
have a great day and hang in there!!

I was banded in July and have lost 45 pounds. I lost my job last week, and find myself reaching for food for comfort. I haven't lost anything in 2 weeks now, and I'm worried.

Hi, Jenny
I just read your post about your band tubing disconnecting. I have the same problem. I have had my band for a year, on 1/15/09 I had Laproscopic splenectomy by the same doctor who did my lapband. I immediately noticed a difference in my band while in the hospital, I asked the doctor if he had removed my fluid from the band and he said he had not. 3 weeks later I have a lot of abdominal pain. I go in for a fill and find out my tubing has disconnected. he says it is a simple procedure to repair. I am currently awaiting to see if insurance will cover this as I can not afford it. I was wondering how you are doing and how your repair turned out.

Hi!
I have to admit that this preop diet has been the hardest thing I have ever done! But I am still hanging in there and doing pretty good! I know, I worry about the liver thing too, but I am trying to keep a positive outlook about it. I am excited about the surgery and also nervous. At my last check, I had lost 8 lbs. in about a week! But the weight loss is kind of secondary to me right now simply b/c getting used to this new lifestyle has been really hard. I beleive it will be worth it in the end! We are going to have our bands soon and be losing weight and looking hot before you know it!!! : )))
Hang in there and keep your eye on the ball!!!

I am having it done in Oxnard at St. Johns. My surgeon is the director of Bariatric there. I was told at my initial consultation last month that once I am approved it is like two weeks from there. I want to wait until the end of February though because I am going to Bakersfield with some girl friends next month and they dont know about it so I dont want them wondering why I am only drinking liquids lol...
did you grow up out here? are you in college? do you work? do all your friends know or are you keeping it quiet?

Hey Shaggs,
It is a small world. My brother lives on Weston Rd close to Panania station, and I lived at Mick Maulins, or at least it felt like it!
I'm pretty discouraged at the moment. Have only lost 200g in 2 weeks!! i was so caught up with how much I lost on Optivile and in the first week that I am not coping with the minute loss!! Am trying to be good this week to get a better result at my first appoint with surgeon next week. This is such a roller coaster of a ride... but according to everyone on here it is worth it. I'm scared that I am going to sabotage myself like i have every other time....b lah blah blah enough of that.
Not long to go fo ryou now!!! Good luck with the Optivile. I was good for a week and then couldnt stand the hunger anymore...but i am sure u will be fine!!!
Keep me in the loop on how u r going.
talk soon

Hi.....26 pounds??? That's excellent!!! CONGRATS. So far I'm only down 14 pounds. This all happened within the first week of being banded. Now I'm kind of just sitting there. I go for my first fill 2/4 so I'm excited about that. I also started going to the gym so that's good too. Right now I can pretty much eat anything. I just do it in small quantities, nothing like I was doing before banding. In the morning, I've been having protein shakes, lunch I have some chicken and dinner maybe a boiled egg with tomatoe. Not such an exciting menu. I've had bread, rice, veggies, pasta (not a lot), as long as I stop when I'm satisfied I haven't had any bad episodes. How about you? What are you eating and how much? Oh...I've made it a habit to serve myself on a small plate.

Hi, I am a to be banded in Florida. Original surgery date was 1/26, but my EKG last week was abnormal and now I have appointments next week with cardiologist. I am disappointed because I was READY to get started on this life changing journey. Keep in touch, LB

Hi, Shelley,
Hope your weekend was great!
I was originally scheduled for my surgery tomorrow, 1/26, but had an abnormal EKG at pre-op this past Tuesday. I am so disappointed right now. I have an appointment on 2/5 with cardiologist to see what's going on with my heart. I have never had any heart problems in the past. Hopefully the EKG was not working properly or something of the sort! I was so looking forward to getting started on my new life journey with my lapband. Have a great week! Laura

I hope it goes quickly for you. I'm glad your sleep study went well, they tried to make me have another one, but I kind of refused and my surgeon said it wasn't a necessity, so that's good, I go in a week from wednesday, that's exciting/freaky! I hope you get your date soon, I'll keep the fingers crossed for you!
