I just went through a new sleep study test and have been informed by my doctor that I no longer need to use my CPAP machine! Yay! I am down 76 pounds as of today and love my sleeve.

September Was Your Progress?

I am down to 181. As soon as I get down to 180 the next goal is 175. In NSV, I've discovered that I can cross my legs again and sit cross-legged and going down the stairs almost doesn't hurt at all. Going up the stairs is getting easy and I've stopped having sudden knee pain for no apparent reason. I walked a quarter mile or so to Longpoint from my condo, took the bus downtown, walked a half block to the train, walked two blocks and back. -

Stopped losing weight

I run through the following checklist when I don't lose for a few days: - Am I drinking 64+ of water? This is my main culprit. - Am I getting in 60+ of protein? - Am I taking all my vitamins? - Calorie check - I will raise for a few days, then drop a couple days. - Carb check - I will lower to 20-30/day - How much did I exercise? 3-4 days/week - Is it that time of the month? - Am I obsessing too much over the scale? Usually if I take a week break and do the other things noted above, I will lose. - What are my NSVs, I can always find one (ex. I found my neck bone, or dropped a size, or finally did 20 burpees without dying) -
NSV - wedding anniversary in the saddle!
SageTracey posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
29 years ago today I married my best friend. Today we are closer and happier than ever. We have stuck together through thick and thin (fat and skinny:) So how did we choose to Celebrate our anniversary? Well, a 100km bike ride seemed like a great idea as we are starting a four and a half day charity ride over 460km this week! Unfortunately, due to bike problems, we had to finish up at 75km but that is still 74km further than I could have ridden two years ago. BTW - yesterday was my two year bandiversary - down 63kg and living life to the max! -
That is one awesome NSV!!! It only gets better!!

Sorry is that 13 weeks!! If so wow!! Great job!! I can't wait to come off my BP and cholesterol meds!! I'm 3 weeks post op and haven't seen WL since the first few days post op. Great work and keep sharing the NSV. I know so many like me are inspired to keep working towards our goals!

!3 weeks after being banded and I saw my primary care Dr and she had be do some blood work. I just checked the results and all my numbers are in the normal range. My glucose is down to normal, A1C is down from diabetic to just pre-diabetic a whole point and a half, cholesterol is normal. Having my clothes become loose and had to get a smaller size bra. Even though I'm in a plateau, I'm seeing big results!

Today at work after sitting all morning I just felt the need to stretch. So I closed my office door at lunch and sat on the floor and stretched. And then I got up off the floor WITHOUT using anything to help pull myself up. Didn't grab the edge of my desk or the chair. I just got up. I'm almost down 50 lbs since 12/19 surgery and being able to move and walk more easily is just great. :-) Tara

So, I was pretty stoked this morning to get on my scale and finally see the 50+ pounds lost mark. It was quite the moment and it made me appreciate every ounce of the 51 pounds that I am now rid of! Having always been an athlete, it was scary to watch all of my excess pounds pile on after a few injuries left me unable to compete anymore. Then you become complacent (or at least I did), the outright lazy. The thought of getting off of the couch long enough to go for a run on the treadmill was just too much to think about, let alone actually getting off my a$$. It amazes me how my eating habits changed right along with my exercise habits (or lack of). I ate every single thing that I had never allowed myself to indulge in prior to my injuries…and enjoyed every, single bite. I couldn’t figure out how SOOOO much weight was piling on my body. I figured that is just how my body was originally supposed to be, and it just never was, since I was such an active person. Or, that is how I justified it to myself. So, now, after this morning’s humbling moment on the scale, I am 15 pounds away from my surgeon’s goal weight for me (and 40 pounds away from my own personal goal weight) but I am now on the other half of the battle (where the pounds lost weigh more than the pounds still to lose!) So, maybe it isn’t considered a NSV, but today, it totally felt like a victory!! It was a wonderful morning, a very humbling moment that made me feel for the first time in a very long time, that I am on the right track with my health. I didn’t really Celebrate my six month bandaversary (which was 3/27/13) because I was in the middle of a plateau and frustrated, so today, I am celebrating!! This site is inspiring, every one’s stories are inspiring!

stalls - how long can they go? thoughts?
AmandaRaeLeo replied to Marbear's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stay off the scale for awhile. Remove it from your home if you must. Measure yourself. Focus on the NSV's. I'm avoiding my scale like the plague. If I don't see the stall, there is no stall! -
On day seven of pre-op diet....had NSV this morning: able to button jeans for first time in a year!!! Woo hoo! So excited for my surgery on April 19th!

So my NSV for the day is... I had to tighten the straps on my sports sandals. Never thought about losing weight in my feet. LOL

I went to the endocrinologist today and my a1c is 5.3, so I am no longer pre-diabetic!! My health was the main reason I had the surgery. Both of my parents were diabetics and my dad died of kidney failure from it at 62. My mom died of a heart attack at 57. I want to live to see my son grow up, go to college and get married. My endo said that once I reach my goal weight she will release me to my PCP for yearly thyroid monitoring (I have Hashimoto's), so that's another NSV. My blood pressure was 104/64, which is awesome! Even though I'm a slow loser, the scale is always moving in the right direction. I love my sleeve! HW 270 SW 255 CW 220

Well today is a lovely day. My jeans...the ones I have been wearing for a few years...at least the size of jeans anyway (they never last that long because my thighs rub holes in them!!!)...have been getting really loose on me. I have one pair I can wear for about an hour before they just fall off. Which is really fantastic. So this morning I reach into my closet and pull out this pair from Maurice's that my mom bought me awhile back. And I took a DEEP breath. Then slowly, one foot then leg at a time, I pulled them on. They went up my legs(and didnt get stuck BEFORE my hips), then they went OVER my hips, then glory be...THEY BUTTONED!!!! I couldnt believe it. AND not only did they button, they were not tight ANYWHERE!!! I could grab excess fabric in my butt area and my thighs!!! These jeans were a pair I couldnt even get over my hips a few months ago. A full size smaller than the ones I had been wearing. And Maurices at that!! I think they run small!! (ok my experience, but that is what I am sticking to telling myself). What a great NSV!!!!! (because I needed it...no weight loss this week), but I will take the full size smaller, and I WILL ROCK IT!!!!

I don't know how much I have lost, but my pants were falling off the other day. I was a size 40 and went for new cargo shorts. Amazing enough the 36's fit perfectly!!! Surgery was March 20, guess I am really shrinking! I go in for my 1 month checkup Tuesday. We will see what I have lost then, my home scale is different than the office scale. I will use theirs as the "official".
