  1. Yea Riley you can eat around the band!!! LOL. I know some days I get so fed up with not getting or keeping anything down I eat a slider........ice cream, or soups........I am trying harder this week. Just I am afraid now of getting stuck and darn it hurts so it is easier sometimes to eat something I know won't hurt........ CHEATING THE BAND!! Bad news!! I wish I didn't know it was possible......... I am going back to calorie count this week. I stopped since I wasn't getting much down. I was figuring in my head but I think I will do better if I know the numbers per day good or bad. I just don't want to think I can eat more when the count is as low as it has been. Aunt Flo arrived and I am up three pounds today. Alwyas happens this way than the day after I drop it. Just glad it is this week and not the week of the fill. I am still serious thinking about cancelling my next fill but I want to see how much I loosen up this week. I am gonna be tight this with with my visitor here. So I might lose this week like crazy..............I don't want to get stuck witn no appointment for two months if I suddenly need one.......... But as of today. I DON"T want and cc of anything in my band!!

Hi fatduck this is what Im talking about when I say I cant eat anything that is mushed up. I am a bit fed up eating only mushy food so thought I would try a small amount of pasta with tiny pieces of chicken in a white sauce and boy was I sorry, I was in pure agony and felt as if I was being strangled around the chest. I am eating slowly and chewing lots but it is still happening. I thought I would be able to at least eat some normal foods although a smaller portion but the most solid thing I can eat is fish or cottage pie. Anyone any ideas Im 22 days post op and wondering if I will ever be able to eat anything in solid form again. Jx

  4. Weight loss is almost non-existent for last few weeks, even after 3rd fill - WHY?? I am gonna start the slim fast diet tomorrow cos sick fed up of this bloody band not working Kerry Hi Kerry I found that the less you eat, the less likely you are to lose weight. I was afraid to eat and it took me 4 weeks to lose 4 lb. The last week, however, I have eaten alot more and managed to lose 4lb in a week. I didn't go for my 3rd fill, and I am glad that I didn't. I have 5ml in and have enough restriction. I had found it hard to eat and I think that was the main problem in not losing the weight. Only time will tell. I am off on hols in september, so wont even be able to get another fill untill November. On a positive note, since 10th May I have lost 44lb and 28 inches overall. I couldn't believe it when I measured myself. Trouble is most of it has gone off my bottom half and not alot off my top. Dont let it get you down. K

Tamra! You must remove people like that from your life, and I don't mean maybe! You are giving her way too much power, take it back and get the *&$# away fro her until you have a better handle on what YOU need to do for YOU. Us girls were talking about this is the car on the way back to Vallejo yesterday - we have had to replace a lot of our friends - at least for a while - with our new support friends. Negative people keep us in the place that we are working so hard to get out of. Even if they are not trying to harm us,l they can and do because they don't want things to change. I have WAY less extra skin than I thought I would. It does bother me, and I do want to have it removed if it's still an issue when I am done losing. But that's a long ways off! And who sees my extra skin? Who besides me even gives a crap? It's hidden under my clothes. Hey, if you don't like it, don't look at me! Sorry for the scolding girl, but you need to take care of YOU right now, and let her take care of her own BS. Tina! Yes you can walk 50 in a week - I just did 15 today, LOL too much for 1 day but whatever, I have a 1/2 marathon in 2 weeks so I had to get on it!!

hi all, I am 38 and am fed up with waiting my life being overweight. I have thought about surgery but I am frightened. I cam across this surgeon tonight and could not believe the cost was half of the UK cost. I saw you all seem happy with the surgery you have received. I am sorry to ask but what happens if something goes wrong when you are back in the UK? Will te NHS help. I have heard that they refuse aftercare, is this true? I really want to do this as I can not spend another 20 years being this miserable. I am 17 stone and 7 lbs and 5'7", I have a BMI of 38. All I want is to lose weight and live a normal life and from reading some of this thred that seems to be what you guys are doing Thanks for your advise.

Hi everyone, It's me Fatpants! Well I have to say that I have not been doing that great, my op area is fine just a little tender as it was bruised. It's the gas/air they pump into you during the op that has been giving me gip! Today is the first day I have not had to go to bed in order to control the pain. Every single day I have had to go to bed as the pain with the air/gas going into my shoulder and back has been so bad, it's been crippling and pain killers didn't help! Touch wood today is the first of many! A couple of days ago I made the mistake of eating two tiny pieces of pork chop which I chewed really well, stupid me! They did eventually go down but I had to drink some water to help them along. I have been feeling dizzy and light headed with just soup, smoothies and semolina, I also find it difficult to remember to drink 2 litres of water. I get easily tired and I feel quite deligate. Will all of this pass does anyone have any ideas? I am feeling fed up as ......my scales, which are digital, have been taking ages to set on my weight, and they keep lying to me telling different weights each time I go on them, so I changed the batteries, but it made no difference! I went into town today and bought a new pair, they say I am 8 lbs heavier than the last pair so I am feeling a little p***ed **f! Sorry for the lingo! Sorry I have not been keeping up with you all but I just haven't been feeling up to it! Fatpants :tongue_smilie:

Hi everyone, Today went well, I had another 1ml put in that takes it up 2 6mls. I still dont have a restriction, but I will be trying a little harder till my next fill. My port has been really sort for a few weeks, so I explained this to fred 2day, when he had a look he said that it looked like i must have pulled my port and maybe torn a stitch which has caused some internal bleeding and made me swell and sore. I am so glad this is wat it is , I was getting worried. He says the healing may take a few weeks. When he weighed me I had only put a pound on, so I was so glad. Fred reccons that another fill and I will be restricted. Sorry guys for all the moaning. I am just fed up with not loseding any weight.
  9. Yeah, we have watched it some of it is real some of it is total BS. But hubby likes it.

mmm and wishfull are right..think tullia is very pushy and i got fed up of her bolshy phone calls, every day for 2 weeks even tho id only made a simple enquiry online about the price!. i just let the aswer phone be bombarded with messages, and she got quite angry!..you shouldnt be paying that up front, i didnt pay a penny til the day..i went with bridget at "europesurgery"which youll find a website for, you will get an answer and a date by the end of today if you go wiyh her, but think its bit cheaper to go with ecfs for the direct package with chris and fred, and your taxis, and hotel are included too. we booked them seperate online which was simple, but at least they do it for you.. also i know their communication is slow but they will get back to you...i got fed up of waiting thats why i went through bridget..Tullia just sounded too desperate for my custom and money and it put me off, i know others have been put off by her too. anyway whoever you choose youll get same op by chris at the end of the day and will be in great hands...good luck x
  11. Hey all. My husband thinks I'm eating junk food and should get on here and find out what you all are eating. I ate the cheese top to pizza tonight. No crust (the dog was thrilled). I scraped it off the crust with a fork and fed the rest to the dog. There were bacon chips in it (real bacon) and more mushrooms than anything. So it was well cooked and soft and not much to chew but I chewed anyway. Nothing liquid to go down with it as required. Afterwards, I waited 30 minutes and now I am sipping my Propel water. I feel fine, and full. Frankly the soups were something I didn't care to drink anymore. Is anyone else unable to repeat meals? I had no sugar cherry jello. The next container of it the next day I gagged. I had chocolate no fat pudding twice in one day, the next day I gagged when I opened the container. The only thing that seems to not bother me are the AdvantEDGE liquid drinks and Propel. And how are your noses doing? I think I'm starting to get a bit crazy. I had my son rip the carpet up today because it smelled like dogs. Now it was going to be removed anyway...in a few weeks but I expedited the process with a utility knife. Anyone else? I've got some serious issues with dust right now. I fear by tomorrow I'll have all my furniture in the yard dusting it so none of it gets airborne. ( I am not joking at all)

  13. Try not to be so hard on yourself. We are going from one extreme lifestyle (for me, massive over eating and using food for all sorts of reasons) to the sleeved lifestyle, which is extremely opposite. We are all figuring it out at our own pace. You’re aware of how and what needs to be done so take baby steps. I find if I take baby steps, I am more successful-change one small thing at a time. I always failed before the surgery bc I would try to do too much and then when I fell short of what I was wanting to do, I’d feel like a failure and then go do the total opposite. You’re doing great! We are all there with ya!! Sleeved 8/7/17 HW: 256 SW: 248 CW: 197 on 1/3/18 5'7" GW: 150

Wow- I can't believe he doesn't believe in pain management. I got a whole brochure about keeping ahead of the pain. (Not that I even want to take it at this point bc it's constipating) I have been using protein powder by Bariatric advantage and isopure zero unflavored. (Does well in cold, not good in heated food) and lots of water. And miralax. I had a HH repair also and had to really practice deep breathing and slight coughing to open those airways for a few days. Keep posting. You sound like you need a lot of info, and these ladies sure do know what they're talking about. A lot of researchers in our group and very positive support.

we actually tried that. At a sex therapist. He refused at first and then went and agreed to everything the therapist said and we drove home separately and he did nothing about it. We stopped going after 6 times bc it just became stupid.

Maybe it's in the air bc I'm up 3 lbs today. I too have upped my workouts this past week. I'm guessing water retention due to my sore muscles screaming at me. You know logically it's impossible it's fat but it hurts to see nonetheless. Up your water intake and let's see what happens next weigh in ❤️

    OCTOBER 2014

I go through days like I am so hungry and feel like I've eaten all day, and then others where I forget to eat and still feel full. Not sick or anything. I realized though that on the days where I feel I've eaten a lot; I have probably only eaten a small portion. Some days I just buy food but don't eat it. It's like an old habit/compulsion. I'll go to Bojangles and buy 2 wings and a sweet tea, or buy a kitkat or last week went to mcdonalds and bought a french fry and a hot fudge Sunday. At Panera, I might buy a scone, coffee, and Mac and cheese. As soon as I try a bite of any of these things, I'm satisfied (or repulsed) and I bring them home to my husband or the trash. I ate a salad for lunch today and picked up a cookie on the way out off of a salad/dessert buffet and brought it home. I guess I'm doing this as a "I used to love these!" Kind of deals, but it's so weird. And costly. If I do try to force myself to take a bite of say fried chicken or Mac and cheese, my stomach rebels as soon as it's in my mouth and can't swallow and I immediately want something cold and clean like watermelon or water. It's not even a head hunger or craving that makes me buy. I think it's habit. But then I'm like, what the heck? I don't even want this! I'll throw whole sandwiches in the trash or give them to the guys at work. (Who are vultures and like that I'm on a 'diet' so they can eat my food.) I don't do this a lot, but maybe once a week. It's like a comfortable blanket to just have it near me I think. I once had an eclair in the fridge for over a month and my daughter asked me if she could throw it out and I told her no. She asked why, bc it was practically moldy, and I told her that I like it there. Later, I wondered why. Is it bc when I open the fridge and take out a yogurt that I actually "chose" the yogurt over the eclair? Is it a reminder of where I've been, or of something I used to love and want it there like a blankie to reassure me? I think I like looking at it sitting there, and I smile to myself and shut the door. Like, "you don't have power over me anymore!! See, I don't need you!" Idk. A psychologist might have a field day with me but I feel like I did when I was having food funerals, only I was sad then and powerful now. On most days I eat a protein bar on the way to work or a yogurt, a cheese stick as a snack, chicken with nuts and fruit for lunch and then maybe a protein shake for a second snack. For dinner, I eat maybe taco salad, a cup of chili, or chicken salad. Something lighter so I don't feel heavy when I go to bed. Plus I'm not usually hungry by then. Watermelon, berries (all kinds) and cantelope are my daily friends. That's where I am on this 11th month, still trying to honestly understand my relationship with AND without food.

So far I am only 4 weeks...lol. I haven't told any of my friends or family...well my husband. We are very worried that something is going to go wrong. I do have a lot of medical concerns. I go for my first appointment on the 15th and I will be discussing them there. Hopefully this bun will bake the whole 9 months lol. My husband and I had gotten the go ahead the beginning of April to start trying again and off the BC and here we are...it happened a lot fast than we expected especially since a lot of the doctors said I wouldn't be able to get pregnant again...well....6 home tests later lmao...I am so excited, but also so so scared Thank you for the good wishes

Hey guys, I have gotten the weirdest thing. I got a sebaceous cyst under my boob in my bra line and it became infected too, so they put me on antibiotics. They had to partially drain it this morning and it HURT so badly! Omg. So it actually had breast tissue in there with melted fat. WTF? Sorry that this is too much info, but for goodness sakes, the cyst is almost like the only boob I have. Ugh! When I lay down, my boobs are like 2 puddles of wrinkled skin. I'm DEF getting a breast lift/ enhancement this winter. I've gone from a 40DD to a 36C and that would be fine if they didn't keep trying to fall out of the bottom of my bra bc they are so saggy. Good grief- can I just change my underwear size instead?!
  20. C'sM: I will listen to your rants anytime, anyplace. I like the fact that you are so well-informed. Of course I like the fact that you care about our country and our people and are fed up with extremist viewpoints that are elitest, exclusionary and unfair to most Americans.

    June Post Ops!

I didn't know could rent one? That's cool. I have a couple of those old 40s wing back style which worked great. wow your drains were in a month! Mine was only in 24 hours so I'm a little nervous about these being on for a week. They gave two binder wraps that they put on in surgery bc some skin is super sensitive.

Punkin, You crack me up ... thanks for the laugh :-) Some where at CIA headquarters at Langley some agent has read your post and now on the other side of the word some " detainee " is now being fed protein shakes for five weeks " he hasn't talked yet! ...., but he is looking thinner " Have a great day RJ

    October 2018 Sleevers

Hi Marnellepaul- I have 4 months post surgery and have lost pounds so far as well. I am the slower side as well and have been feeling frustrated. I recently had my 4 month follow up appt and my Dr thinks I'm losing just the right amount of weight. There is no right or wrong. She also thinks that losing weight on the slower end is better for the body and we are less likely to loss our hair as quick or as much. So those are some pluses at least! One thing that i started doing recently is intermittent fasting- 8 hours eating and 16 hours fasting. This has helped a lot bc I realIze now I was grazing a lot at night.
  25. Thanks Kelliv, I'm sure to be back to normal (whatever normal mean!) in no time. Initially I wanted to have it done before christmas, but now I'm thinking of just after Christmas. I'm not ashamed of getting the sleeve, but I don't want anyone to know. Becausei don't want to deal with the BS of everybody telling me what they think when I didn't ask. As it is, I'm already getting the old 'self mutilation' lectures for not only having had the band in, but now having it out. I can only imagine the sleeve will be much the same reaction. If i can avoid major functions that revolve around food i could do it in Nov. But My brother in law is getting married in November so that's out, because I'd be on liquids....a dead give away. If I do it between his wedding and Christmas then Will be on liquids or puree for Christmas, so again dead give away. There is nothing between Christmas and Easter involving food that I can't easily avoid, so I think after Christmas is the go. Hopefully my surgeon will be able to do it then! Would like to be sleeved by the new year, start it off right foot! Cheers!
