  1. Hi! How are you doing...did you find out what you are having? Friday is 15 wks for me. I'm thinking about getting the 3d sono to find out...i just can't wait. :) I am doing ok. I had to go to the er a few weeks back because I needed fluids so bad from throwing up and not being able to drink. But since then I have been good, and fingers crossed, the throwing up is gone! I am very happy. I havent gained anything, but am staying the same. Hope to hear from you soon. Take care!

  2. Thank you very much for the compliment. I gotta tell ya...it's been a lot of hard work but it is most definitely worth it. I am just shy of my 3 year bandiversary and my life has changed so much because of it. I love my band and my new life.

  3. I have a feeling you may have just had your surgery!! I hope all went well and I'm sure it did!! I am now officially 4 weeks out and yesterday I had my first fill. For me it was painless, honestly. And I lost 10 lbs. Not as much as some but I lost 49 before the band so I'm ok with the 10, it's like 2.5lbs a week so thats good! So now it's 59lbs and I've only gone down 2 sizes :( It's me belly. I've lost the most fromthe chest up, butt and legs. I fear the belly will be the last to go for me.

Let us know how your doing!!

  4. Hello and congrats :) both you and Fanny Adams are great inspirations to me! Also being from Perth makes it that much more exciting too... i was banded a week ago so I am on my way but only the beginning :) can I ask which surgeon you had for your lapband and if you had your BL in perth?

  8. Hi Linda, glad to see someone my age experienced the Lap Band Surgery. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op, lost 28 lbs and at a stand still. Have not had a fill yet. Is this normal to not lose any more weight.

  9. Hi Kerry,

Just wondering how your weightloss is going? Mine stopped about a week ago! I've upped my calories to 8-900 per day and it's still not moving. It's just not logical is it?

I'm able to eat everything now and have never pb'd.....have you? I am really careful though.

I'm having my fill on the 24th but I can't see that helping as I'm not overeating!

    Speak soon,

    love,

    Baffled of Lancing!!

Hi Susan, how are you doing? I haven't lost any more weight in the past week and I'm really peed off about it. I'm having about 8-900 calories now so logically I SHOULD be losing it shouldn't I?

I should just not weigh myself really but I always do!

    What's happening with your weight?

I lost 12lbs in the first 10 days, then it took 5 more days to lose another pound, then nothing! I don't think anything will change when I have my fill on the 24th as I'm not overeating at all. I can eat anything now, including bread, which is great! I'm really careful though as I'm not all that hungry.

    Speak soon, Sue x

  11. Hi again! My girls are 14 and 16. They are great girls too, really are the best kids, but don't tell them i said so! lol My pre-op is officially (from the surgeon) one month on the shakes program. This is to help shrink my liver. My friend a nutiritionist said tho, that i should slide into the month long deal, because it will be way hard going.. for all the reasons you have outlined. So, today i started the phase 3 of this program for three weeks, phase 2 for three weeks and then phase one for my remaining 4 weeks until surgery. I think too, that i may have to wear some type of mask for sleep apnoea is i come back as positive for that disorder. I haven't got my results back yet. I'm thinking too, it's a given that i try and exercise as much as possible as well. I agree, this is a second chance for me too... isn't it a nice feeling? I know the road is going to be bumpy, but surely there is something bright at the end of it for both of us! Have an outstanding day! dee xox

  12. Thanks for replying back to me. I've been walking almost everyday in the evening with my husband and after about 4 weeks, like you, I plan to pick up the pace with either some cycling or with the eliptical bike. I probably can't afford the body lift although I would love a but lift. Its been 12 days for me so I'm feeling good. Just hope I can follow in our steps and keep up the exercise. Keep up the good work. I'll have to post some pics up soon.

  16. 4/1/2010 It is exactly one month and 9 days post op. I will be getting my first fill on Saturday in Tampa. It is hard to believe I have gone from a size 26 to a lose 20 (I do not have any smaller clothes in the house, hehe) I have donated all my big clothes. I have gone from 279lbs-238lbs. I did the preop diet then my dr. had me keep my post op liquid diet for two more weeks. My mom just came and saw me for the first time and she started to cry. She was so happy for me. I started watching what I eat and journaling daily. I exercise 4-5 times a week. I love my band. I will post a message on how the first fill goes. Have a blessed day.

  17. Thanks for the nice note you made my day ;-) I love my black lab, I will look for your pics. When did you get your band? I have been at this for 9 months now and have lost soooo much. I eat Food. Not Too much and mostly Plants with protein first. I was too tight and I had to have some removed. I am still extremely tight but I am working with my band. I only have 3 more pounds to lose to be a member of the 100 pound club. Have a great day. Best wishes imaluckydog Kathy

  18. Hi. Thanks for checking up on me. It's been awful, but only in the mornings, so I am thankful for that. I get up and have to throw up at least 3 times, then magically it's all better. lol It's to the point now that I look forward to throwing up becasue then I know I will be better. :) Its just so weird! I never had this at all with my daughter. How have you been? You must be so excited! R u showing yet? Can't wait to hear all the details :) Take care and talk to you soon!

  19. lost 14 pounds since surgery its two weeks this thursday i can say doc told me i can go back to gym. i love the band dont even feel like its there. lol well have a good easter.

  20. Thanks for checking in on me. :) I'm doing well - feeling pretty good now. It's amazing, it was like when I hit the week mark, my body healed all of the sudden.

Don't be nervous! It will be great and pretty soon you'll be banded and starting your new life!

  21. Hi! I just read your comment on one of my pics and thought I'd leave you with the answer to the question you asked.

I started out by walking, but as I got stronger, and lost weight, I started cycling. Cycling (on a spin bike) became my main source of exercise, and I cycled 40 mins 3 times a week most weeks. It was good because my knee was arthritic and cycling was low impact. As I approached my goal weight, I did take up some running but it aggravated my knee, so I stopped.

Doing that, it took me 7 months to lose 66lbs. And I've lost another 19lbs or so since my body lift, though since my lift, I don't exercise in a structured way so much anymore.

  22. I started out at 325! I have lost 174lbs! Crazy right? I am not a huge exerciser....i walk like 3 -4 days a wk. like 2 miles each time sometimes more. Am going to start jogging...slowly...very slowly!

  23. I'm sorry that i couldn't get back to you sooner, i just got home from the hospital yesterday. My surgeon also fixed a large hernia while installing my band...so i'm still pretty sore but dong alot better now... how are you feeling? I'm still on clear liquids for another week... so even though i'm really not hungry yet I'm looking forward to some cream soups and yogurt next week...LOL I never thought i'd say that. How's everything with you? *Maria*

  24. How are you doing post op reference pain and energy? I feel strong at home so increase my activity a little then I am in pain or too tired to move. I walked to the supermarket today (about 10 min walk each way) and when I got there I felt light headed and dizzy so I went to the coffee shop and had some milk and felt a bit better. I am really interested in how you are feeling. I mean how much are you doing now? Do you feel drained because of the op or do you think the lack of energy is down to the reduced diet? I am getting about 300cals a day now but thats only been the last 3 days, before was under 200. How much are you managing. Help:scared2:

  25. Living My Dream,

I was so encouraged reading your blog and then discovering your age! I'm 56 5' 3" and at banding weighed 208. I'm small boned and haven't seen a size 10 in well over 25 years. If I could get to a 14 I would be elated!! I am so happy for you and could feel all you feel in your new body and you explained...... Happy new life!! :)
