  1. i can tell you are looking different. your face looks so skinner. I had to get a fill today, hadden had one in awhie and i havent fet any restriction for awhile. I GAINED 6 LBS THIS MONTH!!! My first big gain in 8 months. I'm not really upset about it because I know I have been doing wrong this last two or so weeks. So back to working hard again. I guess just doing yard work isnt workout out. any good advise?

  2. Well Its March and I've lost 65 lbs since surgery. I go to the gym 3 times a week .Got off all anxiety pills sleep good at night.

  3. well you have done SO great so far, really. everyone experiences what you are right now as im sure youve read on the board. i did too! i think i told you about that a little in response to one of your posts. i had my first fill 4 weeks and started eating what i would say are the "right" portions for me at my second fill, but im glad i eased into it. its so weird now, when i think about it, that no one really notices how little i am eating compared to the amount i used to eat! but yeah 5 weeks in i was definitely worried, I think one night i had like 5 tacos or something. old habits die hard. couldnt imagine eating even a full one now! i dont even crave a lot of those bad foods anymore, i guess my body is used to it.

  5. I am doin fine..I had my first fill 3-18-09. Got 1cc..Cant tell muh diff...But I am suppose to get another fill in 3 weeks..Lets see if I can tell the diff..Hopefully I will..I cant tell muh with this fill..But that is something you tore a stitch...Hmmm you were jumping around..lol.I bet you were being naughty when u did that..haha..hint hint..Anyways enough of my crazii talkin..How muh weight have u lost.I have lost 22 pounds..and workin my way down to more lost..woohooo...Hope u are feelin better and take it easy on the jumpin round.lol..hugs..

  6. Congrats on your band... give it time, your going to go through every single weird body emotion that you can think of in the next few weeks.

    I got mine March 12 09 and after trying mushies today I am about ready to go back to liquids because I just did not tolerate them too well.

  7. Thank you!! I am working very hard at it. I really watch what I eat and try to make good choices and I go to the gym 4-5 times a week. I thought I wasn't doing that well when I look at other people's results. I just have to keep trying and do what I can do! So dont be discouraged. You will get there in your own time (that's what I have to remind myself).

  9. Sure no problem, today the gas was finally bearable. I did find it easier to get up and down. I am starting to get an appetite but my Dr has me on clear liquids for TWO weeks ugh. What diet does your dr have you on? Did you stay overnight?

  10. I "was" working out alot, like 5 times per week. This last month i've not done so well! But i'm moivated to get pumpin again! At least another 30lbs! I've missed two fill appt. And don't have another until jan 26th.... So i've set a goal to lose at least another 10-15 by then! Hopefully! Lol!

  11. I'm sitting at 146-150... I definitely the food issues... I eat normally malt o meal, poptarts or dry cereal for bkfast. Lunch is normally rolled up lunch meat with spicy mustard and cheese. Dinner is anything really... My husband travels so if he's not home I don't cook unless I have to. It is normally something easy for my kids... I eat protein bars or yogurt bars during snack time. I'm one of those rare people that eat 6 meals a day. I eat about every two to three hours. I was working out five days a week and have really slacked off this past month with the holidays going on. Now it's hard to get motivated to get back in gear. I'm losing a lot of my muscle and my skin is starting to sag really bad... so I've been trying here lately to at least get my protein in! That's probably why I'm stuck right now!

  12. I was finally rid of the gas this week. But it seems every time I eat or drink I have to burp. LOL!!!

     

    WOW!! 20lbs is amazing. I'm down 11lbs but I think I'm going to have to work for the rest. My swelling has gone down so I'm able to eat solids now. I haven't had any real meat yet. I'll probably start next week.

     

    Looks like your on mushies now? I don't know if crab cakes are really a mushy but that is my fav mushies food.

  13. Hey Becca, you were in the chat room recently and asked about shoulder pain. I was banded on December 7th. I had shoulder pain and it's normal. A lot of us have it and it usually goes away in about two weeks. It's from the gas they put in your body to help them do the surgery. I'm sorry for your discomforts! It gets better. Congrats on your surgery!! :) If you need anything, I'll be happy to help if I can!

  14. Hiya... i wanted to see how u have been since we last chatted. Since then I was banded 12/29 and now recovering just fine... gotta' go back to work 2morrow. Would'nt mind another week off since this clear liquids diet is wearin' me out. Hope all is well :)

  15. well thank you very much for your input,im always looking for advise! its funny that you say up your workout, because i started doin that about 2 weeks ago and now i have lost 3 pounds! so you are on point with your advise! when did you get banded?

  16. :laugh::laugh:hey guys happy new year, i went crazy during the time between thanksgiving and xmas,ate a lot of sweets,what kills me is i eat a fraction of what i ate before and hardly eat carbs but i gained weight,i am the president of this slow losing group,lol, i finally got a hold of myself and stopped eating crap, and have lost a couple of lbs,when i think 4 mos have passed sometimes i get upset at my self for not losing more,but what can i do, i have an app't in 2 weeks and i'm asking for a fill,i only have 4cc's in my band and suspect i need a little more,hope you all are doing better than me good luck to all of you,bye:laugh:

  17. Hi. No, not banded until possibly mid-March. My last consultation is on January 21st. Trying to work on portion control now so it's not a shock to my body. LOL! I'm also trying to wrap my head around the pre-op and post-op liquid phases...whoah! All in all, I'm excited and inching toward getting ready for this change. I'm ready to use this tool to help get my health back in order.

    Off to make my protein shake now. I try to have one of those a couple of mornings a week to get me going! Blessings to your day and thanks for being an inspiration on this journey!

  18. i didn.t get all the liquids in first 2 weeks,, but after that it was ok,,, i am doing ood now eating soft mushies, and i am going to get a fill in 2 weeks

  19. Happy New Year! I am doing great, no pain, and I am getting up and moving, I can sleep on my sides and part of my stomach, wounds are pretty much healed and I have my post op appt on Monday. I see some people getting fills during surgery, that is crazy, I cannot get mine till 4-6 weeks after.

  20. You got it with the name thing. I am in Queens NY right outside of Manhattan and it snowed 2 feet last week. I watch TV shows shot in S Cali and I wish I lived there. I cant believe you did WW for a while. I feel like I cant do one more diet, ever again. I hope Im not putting too much faith in the LAP-BAND. I am hoping that if I just feel full I wont overeat anymore. I used to be a very athletic muscular person. I cant wait to get my old body back. I am going on vacation to Mexico. I am glad to talk to someone in my age group. I am 45 and I think there is a different mental state. We probably have the same issues compared to the 20 year olds.     And I did it again yesterday. LOL I've got to get things done for my household and it drives me crazy no to. But I promised I'd take it easy the rest of the week.

    So I've been eatting little bits, this a.m. I had 1 egg & 1 small piece of toast w/low fat p.butter. That was 10g of protein right there. I just chew chew chew. We're not "restricted" right now so we can eat. Just be careful that it's not more than 1/4 cup at one time and as low fat & low calorie as possible. I had such a great meeting with my nutrionist, she helped me realize I can do this on my own, it will be really hard but I only have 3 weeks until my 1st fill. I too am trying to get my protein from food and not just the protein shakes. Today I'm going to make it a big effort.

    I'm sorry you don't like yogurt/cottage chesse. That could give you a lot of protein! Try mixing your shakes with almond milk. Freeze some almond milk that way you make a small smoothie w/protein to get 20g when you can't eat it.

  22. Yup me too no more diabetes meds. I was on 3 different pills daily....I am losing great but, I am following the diet figured took me 6 months to go through all this to finally have it done... Everything I eat is sugar free still...I love tomato soup so eat that for lunch ...applesauce with cinnamon on it for breakfast and carnation drink once a day the rest of the time I try to keep busy...first two weeks though I was sore...Hope you feel better soon smooches...
