The things you will buy because they are on clearance...

The real NSV for me is this as I was trying on clothes and asking my wife's opinion, a couple of times she asked me if I was sucking my gut in, and I kept saying no. I finally had to suck it in to show her, and her eyes got really wide -

What a wonderful NSV! -
This afternoon my fiance went to a christening for his cousin's daughter. We took some pictures and after looking at them later on I thought to myself "Hey, I don't look half bad!" It's amazing I actually let myself have my picture taken in the first place because normally I hide from the camera at all costs. Definitely an NSV for me!

( laughing) I guess you could call this a NSV. I had to go in and get a stress test today and all that blah blah blah. ( just standard stuff) I was dreading it. Talk about being stressed over a stress test! My only thoughts were "I'm gonna die":scared2: When I went in I kinda made a joke to the ladies about knowing CPR and having the oxygen ready for me. My only goal was not to have my heart explode on the treadmill doing 90 miles an hour. I was pleasantly surprised when my heart rate reached 154, they got me off the treadmill and did their after treadmill thing and....I was breathing, as dork as this sounds, it made my day!

I found a black dress yesterday. Whew! I was able to buy it a size smaller. It's a bit more fashionable too, with its little flare at the bottom. This morning, of course, I put the dress on. I selected a blouse to go over the dress. I put it on and walked to the mirror. The shirt was too big, it looked ridiculous. So, I walked back to the closet and got a second shirt (same size) and looked in the mirror again. The second shirt looked just as bad. LOL. My husband is waiting on me at this point because we carpool. I walked to the closet and got a third shirt, this time a size smaller. It looked great. So, that was my first official "clothes too big" moment. w00t! He He, when I walked out of the bedroom, my husband gave me that "look" that I took too long. I laughed and said I had to try on 3 shirts to find one that wasn't too big. He smiled and said "thats great reason to take so long".

NSV's: Cute Clothes and A Cute Boyfriend
PrettyThick1 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Miss Pearlie has done an outstanding job in such a short amount of time. I've just had the most romantic weekend and I'm going on pure adrenaline and butterflies today since I only slept for 2 hours last night. Anyway...I can wear the prettiest clothes and it's fun coming up with new combinations to wear them, so for the first time in a very long time I treated myself to a shopping spree on Saturday morning. I came back with clothes that I think I love more than any I've ever had and I can't wait to wear them - something I haven't felt since planning for the first day of school during senior high. And - a guy that I've known for 4 years is looking like he's going to shape up to be a great companion for me. He lives in a neighboring state, but has family (who really like me and have urged him to move back just for me for at least 3 of those years) that he visits often in Houston; he recently accepted a new job and can visit every other weekend now. Call it a hunch, but I can see him moving back to Houston within the next year - I can't see things getting anything but better from here. He is a country gentleman, he's romantic, he loves animals, he's great with kids, has high morals and ethics and he's a good person...a benefit of knowing him for so long before getting to this point. He was attracted and attractive to me before I lost weight, so the doubt about "would he want me if I was the same weight as before" isn't something I have to be concerned about. Another bonus. It's funny...he looks a lot like an actor I had a crush on and his personality matches a character that the actor played in one of my favorite movies (Allen Payne, Jason's Lyric). What's more is that I love the way people look at us, we catch strangers staring and smiling at us and that is so different because before the weight loss, I didn't think we "matched" like he was too attractive to be with me - I know, I know, self esteem, yada yada yada...but now, I don't feel that way and in his own way he "shows me off" when we go out. I never thought I'd be arm candy. LOL Ok...all of this might have been TMI, but I haven't been in love with anyone in more than 14 years - this is an amazing development and I want to share it with the world. -

Great NSV, you desrve all the fun and love you get! -
Today I thought I would hit the shops and see if I could get anything in the after Christmas sales. I don't really want to spend too much money on new clothes, because I am hoping that they won't fit me for long, and that it will end up being a waste if I buy a whole new wardrobe at each new size I fit into. Anyway I went to David Jones (Australians will know the store) to the bigger girls section, where I have bought most of my casual clothes over the years, they make funkier type t-shirts and tops and pants for us younger crowd. So I was rummaging through a table of tshirts that were on sale. I used to fit into a XL from there so I thought I would try a Large, why not, I thought I've lost a big of weight?!?! It was WAY too big! So then I tried a Medium! Still a little too big, given a couple of weeks, it would no doubt be swimming on me. So I bought a SMALL!!! Its a tighter fit than I would have worn at my biggest, but heck, I have a waist and hips again (As opposed to being a big beachball shape!) So I am going to show off my curves. I guess the next step from here is to start shopping in the "normal" sized section, size 16, here I come!! :clap2:

Just had to share. I went to a water park tonight with my 2 children and my church and I went down the water slides. It has been over 20 years since I was comfortable enough to even attempt going on them. My girls were so happy and we had a blast. I will be attempting roller coasters next. BTW, I am 4 months out and down 94 lbs. Started at 330 and down to 236.

Great NSV. For some reason we can see our progess in pictures better than in the mirror. Keep up the good work!

Yay Fern for your nsvs (which are both way cool), but WTH is up with your "best" friend????? I meant it's one thing to have concerns before the surgery, but come on to be like that 3 months later, what is up? I'd hate to have a best friend who didn't support me in something to improve my health and quality of life. I hope she comes around soon!
