Yay! Sounds good to me! Ebony, men are idiots. Enjoy your NSV and understand that the male species is something we'll never understand. Lulu, your arms are amazing. Can I have them when you're finished with them? :w00t: TPG -

NSV I went to Starbucks this morning because I wanted a skinny hot chocolate. So I paid with my debit card (which has my old picture on it) and the lady looked at me and said you have lost a lot of weight Congratulations! I smiled and told her thank you! I love my band! -

I had a funny NSV over the holiday. I was with my brother and nephew when my nephew's mom (my brother's ex) came to pick my nephew up. She was totally skunk eyeing me something wicked. She wouldn't even respond to my attempts at small talk. I was thinking "wow, she hates me!". Still, I just tried to ignore her and loved on my nephew. When it was time for them to leave, my brother walked them out. When he came back, he was laughing. Apparently, she had no idea who I was and assumed I was my brother's new girlfriend! LMAO! She asked him who I was (curse words included) and he laughed "ummm, you mean my sister?" He said her jaw literally dropped and she goes "no way! but she's so little now! It doesn't look like her at all!" My brother told her I'd lost over 200 pounds so it's no wonder she didn't recognize me. I guess she then felt bad for being such a b#tch to me. I laughed so hard!! -

Ok I had to catch up on these nsv's before I could post mine it's been a while but I thought I would take a pic of just my face to see if it was any smaller, ok get ready to laugh I did when I looked at it and my son said hey you don't have a double chin anymore I laughed and said what y ripple chins are gone , then I looked in the mirror and noticed there is a bit of a waddle happening like a turkey's waddle but no more double or triple chin and yes I am seeing the lines fro losing the weight on my neck , I didn't even relize it till my son brought it up , and my Mother , Brother and I we're talking and my brother blurts out what are we having for dinner since Debbie doesn't eat , and I had to say I eat I just don't eat a lot like I used to lol, so I guess these would be considered nsv's . -
Hello Vi's!~~ No, Judy, I did not get to rest or relax today... not yet, anyway. But it's rain-storming here now thru tomorrow so all ds's soccer practices & games for tonight & tomorrow have been cancelled, so I'm thinking that in a few I may crash on the couch & finally RELAX!! I had a MAJOR NSV today!! Today 2 friends & I went to "Let's Dish!", the food prep kitchen where I used to work part-time 'til last Fall, to dish up some tasty meals for the month. Even tho I don't work there, I still go there 1x/mo to dish dinners & chat w/everyone. So I'm there and in walks a former co-worker, Tammy, and I say, "Hi Tammy!" and she looks at me and... ready for it?... SHE DID NOT RECOGNIZE ME!! This is the first time that this has happened to me since banding! I've had people notice my wt loss (esp. this past week @ school, I've been basking in all the compliments, actually), but not completely not know it's me! Of course, once she realized it was me, she freaked out & wanted to know ALL about the band. She could use it. Not being mean, just honest. Hey, if a former fattie can't be honest w/a current one, then we're all doomed! So that was WAY COOL! But then we went out to lunch @ Red, Hot & Blue (a BBQ place) and I got the Chop salad w/chicken on it and I barely ate 3 or 4 bites and BAM! I knew I had to PB it all up... so off to the bathroom I go, and we all know what happened there, so I won't bore you w/the details... WEIRD! My 2nd full-fledged PB in a week! Of course, I didn't eat any more, brought it home, and am now starving (my tummy's even rumbling loudly) & I'm scared to eat it!! Grrrrr. And that's my day! How's yours??

These are the kind of posts I love.. so many successful bandsters. My NSV today is being able to have my Christmas shopping done and presents wrapped because I have so much more energy than I did before being banded. My other NSV is that I no longer run from cameras. We have had so many family functions where I refused to have my picture taken, it's a wonderful thing to not be ashamed of how you look. This surgery has enabled me to become more active and healthy. I am forever grateful to my surgeon and his staff for doing an excellent job for me. -

I'm so happy I found this thread. All of your stories are so wonderful. When I began this process back in September 2013, I made a list called "I Will...". I've been adding to it and it includes many of the things you have posted here as NSVs. Those are my goals and the reasons I started the LapBand process. I'm now 9 days post op, still on liquids for five more weeks, no fill yet, and here is what I have as NSVs so far: I walk every day on the treadmill and add a minute per day. I'm up to 21 minutes at 3mph no incline. I'm starting to look forward to it more than dreading it. I'm over a mile already. I have more energy and although this was my first Saturday I could have slept in in weeks, I got out of bed early with a spring in my step. I found MyFitnessPal.com and I watch my intake much better now and look forward to recording my exercise. I drink a lot of water and prefer plain water to flavored water. My breath smells better. I honestly thought it would go the other way from such a strict diet and higher protein, but hey. I'll take it. I'm eager to get outside and socialize. I'm not SO TIRED all the time. My back and knees are not hurting from daily existence. I'm off NSAIDs for several months and Tylenol is controlling my arthritis pain pretty well for now. My husband, the WLS skeptic, pointed out last night that the chunk of weight loss I've had since February can't be from the March 13 band since I have no fill. I pointed out that it's a process, of which this is a first step, in discipline and lifetime habit changing, and that the band will always and forever only be a tool in the toolbox. The lifetime work still has to come from me. (A week ago, the night before my surgery, he referred to LapBand as the easy fix.) The NSV here is that I don't give a flying fig what he thinks, but it's nice to prove a skeptic wrong, and see his expression when I come up from the basement sweaty each day from my workout. Keep posting, everyone. You inspire me daily. -
Tracy~ I used to get my lip waxed, and then about a week later, I'd have a dozen horrible blisters. I thought they were fever blisters, until after about 3 times, I realized it is from the hot wax. Now, I bought Sally Hansen Lip Dipilatory Cream, and do it at home about 3 times a year. Does not burn and more importantly does not blister. I must have sensitive skin there cause I get eyebrows done about 2x a month and beside some redness, no problems. Are you going for the Brazilian??? LOL Anyway, that is my 2 cents. I am sooo pissed again. I need a drink already and it is not even 11am. Oddly enough I don't drink but a few times a year...maybe I should start. NSV...3 large PINK BOXES full of donuts...walked right past them about 6 times already. Not worth the calories. Now chips, kickin salsa and a margarita...that is worth the calories!

Laura! I loved the pictures! Congrats on ALL your NSV's! There's plenty more to come, too!! But crossing your legs is a HUGE one! You look sooooo cute in all of your pictures and the snow is so pretty. Kat - What's the difference between a pannectomy and a TT? I thought they were the same thing! Sorry you're sick....yuck. Take care, ok? Tracy - I'm curious, why did your doc give you prednisone? For your ear infection? That's kind of odd, I think. Hmmm. (I used to be a nursing student, can you tell? LOL) TracyK - hope you and DH are havin' a great time! Judy - Where are you going for your cruise? Somewhere WARM I hope! Suzie - thanks for the words of encouragement...and you're so right. When this is all over I will feel better knowing I did all I could for her, even if right now it just doesn't seem like enough. My sister stayed with her today and I went by for lunch...but tonight I'm at home with my kiddos and all is right with the world...well, at least on our block. I have been living on cottage cheese and oatmeal all week. The stress along with a new fill have made all else just about impossible to eat. I did manage to get a cheese enchilada down my pie hole tonight. It was delish. The (slim) lady at the table next to me polished off three of them, along with rice, beans and chips! Did we used to eat that much??? I am totally exhausted tonight. I can't wait to go to bed!! zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Here's some pics. First, the NSV!!!! Legs crossed COMFORTABLY on the plane.. and I got lots of legs. And the seatbelt is no where near tight. HOORAH. This was me BEFORE I had to bundle up. And then these are taken in Central Park.. And I'm not sure where we were for this one.. The coat is an NSV too. Last time I bought from Burlington Coat Factory (about 6 years ago with parents), they had the patchwork suede coats, and I remember crying because the only thing in my size were ladies coats.. boring black trenches, etc. The day before the trip we went to BCF to find a warm coat. I was looking in plus size. I am 2x in coats I guess, I saw ONE cute coat in 3x.. and ONE cute coat in 1x. The 3x was just way too big. There was nothing in 2x that was trendy at all. I was really getting frustrated. So I decided to try the 1x coat. And Voila. there it is! I'm wearin a 1x coat!!

Great inspiring post. Been Mia for a while just living life. My NSV is my overall change in my thinking. Had a bump in the road of dating found out me wonderful well was not so much and the old me would of harped to figure out why and after a month or so gotten over it . The new me within two days is moving forward slightly bruised but not looking back. I got banded to be healthier which resulted in me being happier which resulted in me truly not settling less than I deserve . I know people say it hell I said it but settled this time no settling. Which I'm over the moon about to be living what I have been preaching lol... On a gym note I'm doing burpees wth can't do a lot but I'm doing them and each time I do it I'm in awe that I'm doing it. Sept 2013 couldn't do it and know I'm doing several during my classes. I beam in Btwn gasping for air as I'm working out not cause I can't do the workout but because I keep pushing my limits to be a healthier person. My trainer doesn't know about the lap band but his encouragement n motivation has transformed my body as well he pushed and believed in me when I sure I couldn't do the workouts. Now I'm a gym rat lol -
Good Thurs Morn, Vi's~~ It's only 9:29am and I've already had an AMAZING NSV!! DS and I purchased cheap-o tennis racquets & a bag o' balls yesterday and this morning he woke me up & we went down to the park and "played" tennis for an hour!! AND... he was actually impressed that I knew what I was doing and could hit the ball (me, too, come to think of it!!)!! I had sweat pouring... & I *hate* sweating!... but I liked it!! It's been YEARS since I've hit a ball... and I realized that a year or so ago I wouldn't have been able to do that... and I was happy & proud & MOTIVATED to CONTINUE the journey that I've been "pit-stopped" on for awhile now. Everyone think of at least one NSV for this moment... c'mon, you can do it!! & share w/the group.

Back from the funeral and finishing up my 2nd liter of water for the day. Got lots and lots of compliments today about the weight loss. And the best NSV was one lady saying those words I haven't heard in years and years and years.... "you're not going to lose much more weight, are you???" Never thought I'd hear those words, but it sure felt good. Yep, I said. got 23# to go to my first goal. Another lady said.. "I have two things to ask you. #1, will you be in Menopause the Musical if I get the rights for it and #2, tell me about lap band cause I really need something" Soooooooooooooo I just might be in a local production of Menopause the Musical. That's what I get for singing in public! And I invited her to the support group's next meeting Feb. 9. Funeral service went well. Reception afterwards was cookies, fruit, cheese and meat. I had some fruit and a couple cubes of cheese. I had to keep pushing the Bobster away from the lemon bars as he was telling me that lemon was a fruit so he could eat as many as he wanted. arghhhhhhhhh Tonight he has Bible study and I have to sit down at my keyboard and really work on some trouble spots in a couple of the songs my acapella group is getting ready for our concert in March. Tomorrow is hospital volunteer shift and rehearsal in the evening. Daughter Kris is coming over to spend the night and we'll do our Curves workout. Got to go check on dinner. chicken enchiladas from Schwans. Yums. TTFN....

NSV - Warning: Could be oversharing!
rbaertsch posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a non-scale victory to share that some of you may be familiar with. I'm off my Detrol! For those who don't know what that means, it means I can laugh and sneeze without peeing my pants! LOL. It's amazing how a few pounds lost can make a difference with this problem. I've had issues for years, and finally can go in public without fear of needing extra pants. Woohoo! How are the May sleevers doing?
SueperGal replied to QueenEB's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is awesome to hear that you are seeing so many non scale victories! I committed myself to focusing more on my NSVs in the last two weeks, which has helped me get away from some of the negative feelings I was spiraling into due to my "slow" progress. In the mean time, my weight loss started to pick back up. I actually lost 5.8 lbs in the last two weeks, which is amazing. I switched trainers, and workout methods, and it seems to have woken up my metabolism. NSVs: I have found that I can do just about any physical activity without getting winded in the first minute or two, though I haven't tried any long cardio endurance tests just yet. I am happy to be able to make it through my Personal Training sessions and 30-45 min cardio sessions without giving up. I dropped from a size 24/26 to a size 18 pants and from a 3X Plus size to an XL Women's size tops. My feet are getting smaller already I can sit in arm chairs with ease. My eating and vitamin taking habits are becoming second nature. I'm working on water still! People are starting to ask me for advice on snacks and what to eat. (Me, really, did you just ask ME that?) I lost 7 inches!! off of the largest circumference of my body that I have been tracking. I cleaned out my closet of everything that is too big and donated to my mom and sister. I had 7 trash bags of clothes and shoes that I will hopefully NEVER be able to fit into again. I moved up two notches on my watch band. I am losing weight in my hands and arms like crazy!
