I'm the opposite of you Tann. I'm exercising 5 days a week but not eating right. When I'm stressed I just turn to food. So I pop and oreo in my mouth without even thinking about it! I'm going for a fill on Friday, hoping it will help. Lapbandit, you're the best! We all know you'll get right back on track! Elisabeth...I have major cravings! I try and find the healthy alternative to what I'm craving. Hasn't been working lately though. LOL! Josette, congrats on the NSV girl! Doesn't it feel great to wear something in the "normal-sized" category?

I always wanted to know what a stone was. Thanks! And congrats on your NSV!

Craig- Great job, Man! You should be very proud of yourself. Missed being on the board while I was in PA. Don't know if I gained or lost while I was gone. I am going to weigh in tomorrow. Gotta tell you that I worked my tail off in PA. We were buying and loading a 16' truck with all the goodies. Before going on the trip I had to buy some pants. Well, I was down 4 sizes and this size won't last long because they are already getting big. Yeah! Lots of NSV moments for all. Cindy -

November Nymphs Lets Talk Weight Loss!
Foofy replied to hollyberries's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Haha. The first step in using yer business is being able to see it. Weight loss has got to be the magic charm for that. What a great NSV that will be. LOL. -
Congrats on the HUGE NSV, Lapbandit!!! That is so AWESOME!! Be sure to post a picture of you in that dress so we can see how fabulous it looks on you!

Congratulations Stephanie! I remember the moment when I first wore pants that zip up and had no elastic. It was just like 2 months ago. EVERYONE notices that kind of thing, whether they say so or not. It's a huge NSV. Congratulations! I've only had one NSV since then (at least that makes the formal list), which is that I noticed one day not long after the pants moment that I was sitting with my legs crossed in my armchair. Now that's my favorite position! It'll be a long time before my legs stay crossed in an upright chair, but in my cushy armchair, I feel just great. Be sure to post when you wear those pants to work for the first time. Don't wait more than 10 days or so to try them on again or when you do, they might be too big!

Ooh I have an NSV I forgot about. Last night I noticed my wedding ring was getting really loose, so I went to show my husband how shaking my hand would make it fall off and well, it went flying onto a corner of the room where I have lots of paperwork stacked and baskets full of projects lol. It took me almost 20minutes of digging through stuff to find it at the very bottom of one of my baskets (that last one too, hehe) I guess I was shaking my hand a little too vigorously

Lots of NSV's this weekend
dlmadeja27 replied to amazon's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I loved your NSV! I cant wait to lose this weight and go back to Las Vegas and feel like a million bucks! I went for my 21 bday and while I had fun I was so uncomfortable with my weight and my body, all I could see was all the gorgeous women all alround me and it just made me want to hide. I'm hoping that after my procedure I will be able to go back there and feel like a proud confident woman who finally feels comfortable in her own body! Thanks for sharing, you gave me tons of hope for the future! -
I went on a long weekend to Las Vegas with a girl friend for a "girls get away" this past weekend. Had lots of fun. She knew I had the surgery and has been a great supporter. As our time went on, I realized how different it would have been if we did this a year ago, pre-VSG. I would have waited behind for her to go run around instead of walking 8+ miles a day. I would have been planning our Breakfast, lunch, dinner, food treats, etc. instead of oops...we didn't get lunch. I would have been planning at least one nap if I wanted to stay up late, instead of going 36 hours w/o sleep the first day. After that about 4 hours a night. I would have felt out of place and awkward around all of the twenty-somethings in the places we went thinking they were looking at me. I think I would have croaked going up and down the broken escalotors around the strip. Instead I scaled them like a teen, and even passed a gasping 12 year old. The plane travel was also so much better. I usually get a window seat. Not only because I like the view, but because it was one less person I was inconveniencing - I could squish against the window. This time it was actually comfortable...dare I say roomy. I stepped on the scale this morning, and I'm 1.5lbs down. Who loses weight on vacation? The changes we go through are kind of gradual even though our clothing is getting smaller. It took something like this to really see what a change it's made to me. It's really awesome.

Yesterday, I had a NSD (NSV = non-scale victory NSD = non-scale disaster) When you loose weight, a problem I never had before surgery, your pants get too loose like ALL THE TIME. Honestly doesn't that sound like the worst rant ever. Well, guess what? My car keys fell out of my pants' pocket while flushing the toilet. They are now halfway to the big blue ocean. I, off course, was one and half hours away from home. OMG, how unlucky could I be. Hope everyone is doing well in their loose pants. At this time of year, I can't help but feel THANKFUL for all that I was able to achieve this past year. So very grateful for this surgery, my pals at Bariatric Pal and a fighting chance at leading a normal life without the burden of obesity and all it's devastating illnesses. This Thanksgiving day, I will get on my knees because I am so very grateful for all that I have. Love you all "HAPPY TURKEY DAY."

Congratulation Kim, It's always a good feeling when you have those NSV's. Penni--Take care of yourself, sometimes when we think it's over that's when it really hit's us. Skye--So glad to see that you both are doing better, just continue to take one day at a time. You are in my thoughts and prayers. April goals: lose at least 10lbs; exercise 4 to 5 days each week; and thinking positive thoughts about my body. I go in for a fill on tomorrow which should give me the restriction I am looking for. After a fill, I have good restriction for at least 3/4 weeks and then all of the sudden I can eat about a cup in a half at each setting. Weight loss for this week: C218 (-2 this week):clap2: :clap2: I'll take it!!! -
Hi to everyone. Got back from Florida from vacation and was anxious to get on my home scale this a.m. -- I stayed off the scale on vacation because I didn't want to let it run my life.... AND....drum roll now! I lost 4.8 lbs on vacation from where I was on June 13th when I left to today! Go Shrinking Shamrocks Go!! AND second NSV... I was able to buckle a seat belt without an extension on the flights from Columbus to Charlotte, NC on an Embraer jet that only had 2 seats on each side but I needed about 4" of the extension belt still (darn!) on the 737 jet that went from Charlotte to Florida. Can't wait until I can buckle the airplane seat belt regardless of which plane I fly on but that was such a nice feeling. I've updated my ticker and officially crossed the 40 lbs lost milestone as of today. About 3.5 months since surgery 3/17/08 to lose 40 lbs is fantastic for me. I've already bought my 40 lbs of sugar to take and donate to the food pantry to celebrate. I was telling my sister and niece in Florida about the donation idea and they thought is was really great and couldn't imagine what it would feel like to carry 4 of the 10lb bags of sugar around 24 hours every day. They said I should really be proud of myself. AND I AM!!:biggrin::biggrin: <--- 4 Smilies for 40 lbs!

Phew! I feel better now, I thought it was me but now that I know that it's everybody I fell much better. I know this post will go unnoticed but I am actually having fun, for the first time in my life I feel invisible. I think I am going to log this in my NSV chart. Weight Loss to date all of me -
Heh, yep, plateaus still happen. Take a look at my "Slow Loser NSV" thread and see my weight loss journal post on page 1. Here's the link. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=10252 Don't worry, I'm not always a good bandster and I'm not one to be very tight at all. I like being able to eat, now! So my fill level is intentionally not too tight. This accounts for at least some of my slow weight loss and long plateaus. That, and my wrecked-to-pieces and shot-all-to-hell metabolism after years of abuse! LOL Anyhow, my reality may not be yours. But yours may resemble on occasion, as with your 2 up, 2 down thing you got going on. You CAN do better than me. Our journeys are all a bit different, so no worries. Come on Mo! Let's lose some weight!

Stay strong China, it is a very hard time. I did have a nsv, last black friday, i bought a pair of jeans that I said would be my goal to be able to wear this christmas. Well, i got them on yesterday, they are tight, but they zip. So now have to get some belly off to fit good. Have a great day, Laurel -
my 1 year band-iversary is tomorrow (and Thursday) and while i haven't reached my personal goal (not sure if I had one), I have lost over 80 lbs. I originally wanted to hit 140, dr. said that may be an unattainable goal, so i settled on 160 - but I am in a 10/12 and headed for my TT next month... so I have reached a NSV in that I don't shop in the women's department

Something strange happened tonight. I sitting here reading and I have an itch on my chest. I go to scratch it and something feels weird. Like not quite what my hand was expecting. After a minute I figure it out.....my man boobs are gone. WTH??? My wife said she noticed several weeks ago. She says they've been replaced by something called pecs. They are firm and flat and right where my man boobs used to be. Any of you other guys have this.....side effect? My Dr. Didn't warn me about this.

Week 2: May 27-31st Sleevers
tiredtwinmommy replied to lylabelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well here are my stats as of this am: Start weight was 189 ( that is as I was doing my preop diet) May 29 surgery weight was 183 Weight today is 171 NSV I can now wear my engagement and claddaugh rings hubby gave me when we were married 17 and a half years ago. I am fitting into smaller clothes in my closet. Challenges: it is tough when my family is eating all these tempting smelling things around me. But I have not given in and I will not give in bc I know this is head hunger, plus I am scared to pieces of leaks! I am basically having my protein shakes water and sf Popsicles during the day. I have tried stuff a little more "substantial" like puréed beans sf pudding and low carb yogurt, but gurgulina (my sleeves name) sings and complains for quote a while afterward so I get scared I am pushing it too soon. -
Back to basics and really doing it!

Hello friends, This past week has been one of breakthrough for me and learning so much about myself. I was asked to share some of my poetry with the Young Adults at my church last Friday and it was the first time that I felt truly confident and happy with who I was. I was happy with the person I was becoming and stepping in being- like really living. My identity was not wrapped around what I looked like, obsessing over a number on the scale or the "I'll be happy when" mindset. I am actually happy. Truly uncovering the depths of my being and who God created me to be has brought me freedom. I am done obsessing over my weight and letting it consume my life and shaping my whole life around if I am losing or not. I want to be healthy, I want to be alive, I want to truly enjoy my reality and I believe I am doing that! I still plan on controlling my weight but I am no longer allowing my weight to control me. This is an NSV for me, big time! -

Wanted to share my recent nsv with my September buddies. Last week I went shopping for blue jeans, 5 months ago my jeans were a 22 and tight on me. The ones I got last week are size 16! Woohoo, I can't remember the last time I wore a size 16. I wish I was losing a bit faster, but I'm happy with my loss so far. Hope everyone else is doing good. I'm looking forward to spring and getting out on my bike!
