    Dry patches on skin

I also can’t seem to make myself put lotion on consistently! I found some wet skin moisturiser at Lush that I love using 😁 you use it after soap and you can just rinse it off in the shower and towel dry!! No more sticky feeling!!

Omg. Its my childhood dream dress in adult form. Love. It. Def put it in your wardrobe rotation. I wish I had one in black back then. Guess I'm going to have t get one now. P.S. For what its worth, and while I fully understand the loose skin-hesitancy, from this angle with your arms up, I can't see any.
  3. I find it hard to to date because i feel most people don't understand I don't always want to explain myself. It's been since August 2nd 2012. I started at 405 lb and fluctuate between 179 and 205. Right now I'm very uncomfortable because I'm at the 205 stage. I'm trying to feel comfortable in my own skin but it's too much of it jiggling around. LOL. And the bowel still smell like hell. LOL how do you allow someone in your life with this particular situation. I won't spend the night places. I will leave social functions and come home and then go back just to use the restroom. I always think that if I was to be with someone seriously I would need a bathroom of my own to use wherever I live . No one else allowed . How are you guys doing with it.

OMG! Just remembered I still had the dress. Da daa… The shirring doesn’t seem to have perished & if I keep my arms close to my body (so no one can really see my loose skin 😉) I think I can wear it again. WIN.

    Regret and Depression

Have you asked your bariatric team if only 9 lbs. the first month is normal?? But just think..The slower you lose it, the less loose skin you will have as your body will have time to adjust. I'm surprised they don't support a low carb diet. My surgery date is in December and I was put on a low carb diet for 6 months! I lost 30 lbs. After the liquid diet, etc., I am required to go on a low carb diet for the rest of my life! I'm worried about that because I hate vegetables! Good luck! 6. Hi Everyone, I had RNY surgery on Oct, 13th, 2020, so I am just over the 12 month post op mark. I notice my weight loss has slowed down a lot, and around the 8-9 month post op mark, I have stalled and I am not loosing any weight. I know this is normal but still worried that my body has reached it's set point. If anyone here has experienced this, let me know. I seem to have gained a pound each month and my weight is back up to the weight it was when I was at 9 months post op. I have lost 100lbs since surgery, but still have around 60 lbs. to go to reach my goal weight. Should I be worried? ( I will be speaking to my Bariatric clinic soon for my 1 year appointment so I will be talking to them about this) All advice and opinions welcomed. Thanks 😀

    Dry patches on skin

Now that I'm 6 weeks out I'm getting dry skin like crazy, but I'm too lazy to put lotion on. The dead skin is all over the place and so gross. It's hard to tell how much is from the surgery and how much is from the dryness from winter coming, traveling to dryer climates, and dry air in planes. Ugh!

Yeah, lighting in my bedroom is not the greatest when its a cloudy day, lol. Here is a pic of the dress on a model from the website. She's probably like 6 feet tall so the dress fits her better. The hemline and the sleeves and shoulder seams are way longer on me, the fit around my neck gapes a little and its quite loose at the waist where the bodice connects to the skirt. Basically its overall on the big side, but this is always an issue so I'm used to it. Ah, short girl problems. As for the pencil skirt, yep, decided i'm keeping it and getting it taken in. I may try doing it myself...lol
  10. I've never felt so seen. Seriously. Despite all the evidence to the contrary, I find myself convinced I'm going to, I don't know, eat an extra 200 calories and suddenly be back in the Big and Fat Men's store. I am trying to find someone to help me navigate this. Add to this that even though I am thrilled by the weight loss, it does come with its own annoyances. [CENSORED], I wanted to wear this particular outfit and it looks like a tent on me! Ugh, will this skin resolve on its own? For fox sake, will I ever be able to shop anywhere but the Goodwill and Ross Dress For Less? (I'm cheap—I don't want to buy clothes I'll only wear for a month or two unless they're seconds.)

    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

Hello Teri...I'm scheduled for the Sadi on Oct. 25, 2021...are you on a liquid diet . ? I'm on week 2 of it..I am doing ok I guess, I think I get disgusted with the choices (or should I say lack of) so I opt to not eat anything because nothing thrills me....How are you doing with this if you are going this lovely route.. Long story short...I have tried it all..and this is my last chance to Onederland....I've had the Lapland that was really horrible when I had to carry a Barf bag with me everywhere...ofcourse junk food went down good. Didnt loose a whole bunch. Had that removed...got the sleeve , felt great but didn't loose a real lot with that either ..had it checked, not stretched...just my luck...anyhow...Dr. says this is my last resort....not sure if it can happen..got alot of adhesions and lost some small intestines from previous misfortune....but will see when he looks...I pray it can happen for me.. And guess that's my story in a nutshell.. I'm from Maine...relatively healthy for my age...tired of being this big... I wish you the very best with your surgery on the 25th...saw you with the same date so grabbed the opportunity...Waiting in Maine

That’s sounds a perfect job for you @Dtrain84 as it ties into your previous career as a police officer. What a lovely photo of you & your daughter @kristieshannon. Her lace dress is so pretty. And I agree - you do look alike. Had another visit with the hand therapy place today & decided to wear this slim fit panelled dress with cowl neckline & pouch at the hem. Skirt is very fitted though the hem restricting my stride so I had a real wriggle walk happening as I strutted down the street 😆 It was 5 weeks yesterday since I decided to add extra protein to my quiche busy slicing a chunk off my thumb & it’s just about fully healed now (was still oozing a little from one spot until yesterday). Just dealing with some hypersensitivity & dry peeling skin. You can just see a faint line from the skin graft. I was so excited last week as I was finally able to put on a real bra for the first time - I just couldn’t do the hooks up before then without causing my thumb pain & discomfort. Such a silly little thing but boy you need your thumb for soooo much.

spams in left shoulder blade area

Yah, I've had these a couple of times. Feels like my skin is being stretched behind my left armpit. So weird and annoying, but it did go away.
  14. "buyers remorse" is very common the first month or so after surgery. I had it as well. But for almost all of us, it goes away and we're really happy with our choice to have surgery. So just hang in there. I'm a Premier Protein hater, too. I used mostly Syntrax and Unjury products (Syntrax only comes in powder - Unjury now has ready-to-drink, but they didn't back when I had surgery). People's tastes are all really different - just experiment and see if you can find a couple you like. I was a presenter for my clinic's pre-op classes for about three years (until COVID struck). EVERY class someone would ask about hair loss. I could count on it. That and loose skin seem to be people's major concerns. And they were mine as well when I was a pre-op and early post-op. But I think I can speak on behalf of most vets here that we would take either or both of those any day of the week over being morbidly obese again. The hair loss is a minor inconvenience that may or may not happen to you. Not everyone loses hair. I lost hair between months 5-9, but the only reason I knew about it was I noticed about twice the normal number of hair strands in my comb after coming out my just-shampooed hair. Looking in the mirror, I couldn't tell. Even if your loss is more significant than mine, for most people (not all - but most), they're the only ones who notice it.
  15. I religiously itch after a skin injury. My tattoos itched to hell when healing, and so do my incisions when I've had surgery. I was itchy a solid two weeks. It's totally a healing thing. I took antihistamines and carefully applied a scent free lotion around the incisions and tried to distract myself. It's normal, but so very irritating! I'm also mildly allergic to bandage adhesive, so I suspect that added to how long I was itchy for. Short answer - I feel you!
  16. I am 1 week today post sleeve and hernia repair. Everything was great until Sunday. I had a few sips of a chocolate protein shake and OMG the stomach noise could be heard 3,000 miles away!! And 10 mins later running to the bathroom. So ok I had a dumping episode no biggie. But it has been going on for 4 days! I have literally had 2 jello cups since Sunday and a lot of water and propel. I know TMI but this is so bad I have to sit in the tub for 15 min to be able to walk. My below parts are raw, bleeding, and very angry. I have ruined sheets, bath mats, and 8 pairs of undies. Today I’m loosing my mental ability. I called my doctor and they totally blew me off and said sleeve doesn’t get dumping and you probably have a stomach bug. Ok but could you maybe see me? Nope. I have an appointment at urgent care today but they will probably be like woah this is beyond us! Any suggestions please. Thanks!!!!

    Revision surgery 9/8/2021

Today is five weeks exactly, and I am down 21 lbs. Last week was weird; for some reason, I gained a few lbs, and then within six days, I started dropping an lb a day. My dietician would like me to stay between 80-100g of carbs, which I was reluctant about reading other revision experiences, but I am happy to say that I am still losing at 80g daily. I can eat many things without issue, but only if I eat them in small portions. Pooping is weird... It smells, often loose, and I have had some oily moments (TMI), but it is definitely diet-related. I have noticed that I have gas early in the morning and have to poop first thing, so that is something to keep in mind if you are considering revising to SADI.

I don’t have a pic….but I raided my moms closet and stole some things. 😂 Im only five months out and not done loosing so I don’t want to buy a ton of stuff. So I borrowed. Duluth pants are amazing. I love them. funfact: it’s a size 14. One of my earliest memories of being weight shamed was in elementary school when I came home from camp and I fit into a size 12 instead of a size 14. My aunts went on and on about how if I would just keep loosing weight I could be so pretty. I was in the sixth grade. so: I am now the same size I was in elementary/junior high and I will likely end up smaller than my mom who I have always thought of as “tiny”.
  19. Halloween lol. Love Halloween. I only got sleeves five or six months ago but this is actually the second Halloween I have avoided all candy. Last October I was very much in yhe “must loose weight to have surgery” phase. Has anyone else discovered that sweet things taste really gross after you haven’t had sugar for so long? I had tried a few things since surgery that I used to love and they are just gross. Orange soda? I had a sip of my sons soda to get a pill down (it was an emergency and I was caught unawares) and it tasted like rotten oranges. candies? Yeah way too sweet I had a nibble of something from my kid and I spit it out. Things that have sugar are just way too sweet now and I can’t stand the taste (it doesn’t make me sick at all…. It’s just gross tasting lol) definitely a post surgery positive.

Ooch! I do hope the sweet potato recipe was worth it... Glad you are on the mend now. Hail to the nieces! These shoes are beyond ADORABLE!!! So happy. The pink and burgundy look so pretty with your ivory porcelain skin. I concur with ms.sss - fantastic pedicure, too. Yes, we are researching possible lots and neighborhoods to rebuild our former home with a new regional styling. Met with builder and architect last week - as I concentrate on the interior design - space, lighting, electrical planning. Will incorporate existing furnishings. Fun! Your guest room will be ready, hopefully summer of 2022... the same goes for ms.sss and greenteal. It's definitely time for the reunion robbed of us by covid twice! ;[ I'll take shoe pics this weekend. Oh BTW, the movers commented to my husband - she sure likes chairs and shoes doesn't she!? ;]

    Early Tummy Tuck

Some people do drop a lot more pounds after plastics, especially if there is still some stubborn fat deposits under the skin (or just lots of leftover skin in general for those who had massive amounts of weight loss). My surgeon said he removed a grand total of 400g of “material” from me, which is just shy of 1 lb (and i had a tummy tuck, arm lift AND breast lift!). But despite the minimal weight difference, the VISUAL changes were significant (well, at least to me, lol)

    Early Tummy Tuck

Wow nice work! I'm such a slow loser :(. My surgeon prefers that I'm within 10-15lbs of my goal because he anticipates that post skin removal and lipo that will place me at or slightly below goal. I told him that's lofty considering my rate of weightloss but I'm intensifying my health and fitness plan to get as close as humanly possible. Thats good to hear! I have a big head lol so my goal is higher than most at my height but its all good. I'm thinking by February I'll be 20-ish lbs away.

    Using straws after surgery

As others have said all programs are different. My program allows straws. I think after you cut out fast food fountain drinks most adults probably don't use them often. The only time I found a need for straws was when I had my skin removal surgery on my arms. Then I drank everything...even coffee...through a straw because I couldn't bend my arms enough because my incisions go past my elbows. I think we have to remember that we get "guidelines" not laws! As adults we have the ability to try things and decide whether it works for us or not! You know your own body and will figure out if using a straw makes you uncomfortable and will put it on hold to try again later after you heal.

    Early Tummy Tuck

So in Feb ‘22 you will be 13 months post op. i had my TT at 13 months post op too, but I was already at goal (well, technically below goal) at the time. Though I did schedule it months before (at 7 months post op) i *think* any loose skin you encounter after the tummy tuck will be minimal (if at all) as i would assume you will be closer to goal by then? What did your surgeon say? P.S. I’m 2 years post TT now and my tum is still lovely, lol. But my weight has been pretty stable since though… Good luck, and can’t wait to see ur results (if u choose to share, that is)! ❤️

    Early Tummy Tuck

Sooooo. I'm around 70-ish lbs from my goal weight and I've already scheduled a tummy tuck and lipo for February '22. I know it's early in my journey to do so (I'm only 9 months post-op). But, I can't stand the flapping and hanging. I figure, since I haven't had kids yet, that any more loose skin I develop would be a great starting point for a pregnant belly a few years down the line (thats how it works right?? Like reinflating a balloon??). Or, this will just be my excuse to get a mini tummy tuck and an boob lift. Anyone else have an "early" surgery? How did your results fare after losing more weight? Regrets?
