  1. WOOHOO great NSV thank you for sharing with us!
  2. WOOT WOOT Great NSV Thanks for sharing!!
  3. Woohoo GOOD LUCK!!! I was actually more nervous for my first fill than the actual surgery... how silly is that!
  4. My surgeon added 4cc's at the time of surgery. But I didn't find that out until i went in for my fill and was told I was up to 5cc's. I'm sure they told me during all the office visits and I just don't remember (cuz I'm a little forgetful) but now I have had six fills and am at 7.2ccs and happy as a clam
  5. Here's the chain of events: 1.20.11 My surgeons insurance coordinator submitted my paperwork 1.28.11 aetna denied me 2.4.11 insurance coordinator had me sign the authorization forms for Walter Lindstroms group at obesitylaw.com to represent me. She faxed it to them. 2.16.11 per aetna, appeal received 3.10.11 Aetna denied my appeal 3.11.11 I faxed denial letter to Kelley Lindstrom at obesitylaw 3.11.11 2nd appeal is sent 3.30.11 2nd appeal overturned - surgery approved!!! But I didn't find out until 4.8.11 4.9.11 the official letter arrived in mail 5.5.11 6am dr. Michaelson changed my life I hope this helps you!!!
  6. Allergan is the maker of the lapband.
  7. Yes. Insurance denied me, so the ladies at my surgeons office suggested I contact this advocacy group. The lawyer who started it was Walter Lindstrom. The website is obesitylaw.com. They filed my two appeals for me, I was approved on my 2nd appeal. Best part for me is Allergan paid for it (they told me this from the beginning when I signed the papers that I wanted them to represent me)
  8. I have Aetna, for me they required 3mo supervised diet and 2 years history of being over 40bmi which I didn't have So i was denied twice. Had to enlist the big boys at obesitylaw.com for help (the surgeon's office told me about them and Allergan footed the bill) They were the nicest folks and after two appeals, I was finally approved! woohoo Good Luck!!!
  9. contact Walter Lindstrom's advocacy group at OBESITYLAW.COM!!!!
  10. You bet I have yet to truly vomit with my band and never want to.. That increases risk of slipping. Have you determined why you're pb'ing? Are you too tight or just not chewing well? Mine happens around Tom ;( I get tighter then. But only lasts a couple of days.
  11. Hiya, From my understanding, PB'ing is anything that comes up that is "above" the band (i.e. food that hasn't passed through the band yet) vs. vomiting which is anything that comes up from below the band. PB'ing also doesn't take as much effort and/or any retching as vomiting does for me anyway...
  12. these are my fave kind of posts Congrats!!!
  13. WAY TO GO!!! You look great, thank you for sharing your success
  14. Gosh, I'm so glad my surgeon's office doesn't have anything like that. The nutritionist portion was included as well as all my fills for the first 13 months (I've had 6 so far). My last fill was under fluoro and I didn't even have to pay for that.
  15. :blink:Wow?!?!?!? No, my doctor did not have a program fee. Didn't know they did that, what is the purpose??
  16. You look fabulous! Congratulations!!
  17. CONGRATS!!!! That is an awesome achievement Roberta, what a cute name. I never thought of naming my band. Way to go!!!
  18. Good luck! The end result will be totally worth the wait. Let me know when you get your approval I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!
  19. I wasn't over 40 bmi for two years. Actually I never made it to a 40bmi, and they didn't consider my medical history enough. I've already had spinal fusion surgery and I have pretty bad asthma. So my surgeon's office suggested I go through Walter Lindstrom at obesitylaw.com. They're advocates for us. Best part is Allergan footed the bill Just make sure you have all your medical history going back as many years as your insurance requires. Good luck!!
  20. I love these kind of NSV's too WAY TO GO!!!!
  21. Hey, Also remember, those that already know how hard you are working and what you are truly accomplishing are the only ones that really matter. Keep your chin up.
  22. Hiya I'm up northeast of you in the everett area. I see you were banded by Dr. Chock, she's up at NWWLS right? I was banded by Dr. Michaelson at NWWLS. They have support groups in the area also, they have a yahoo group that you will get an invite to I'm sure you know this, but their website is NWWLS.com, there's support group information on that site if you need it. Welcome to banded life.
