Very excited and Very Mad
I can pretty much eat anything... I just have to be VERY consious of what I'm eating and taking small bites and chewing alot more if it is something like steak. My hardest food is bread, but I still eat popcorn! Good luck to you!

Less then 300lbs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yippee!!!!! Can't wait to see a number that starts with a 2!!! Congrats!

Can I have your opinions about what the doctor said
I think some doctors think that you get to that weight because of the lack of control and worry that you will not be able to make the commitment. I'm sure hoping they are wrong! I'm down 71 pounds and have 180 to go. Good luck to you. It is the best thing I've ever done. I think you just have to dedicate yourself to really changing the things you eat and the way you think about food.

Supplements and Vitamins
Mine just told me a multi-vitamin also plus a calcium chew twice daily, however i discovered my multi-vitamin had no iron in it. A lot of them don't. I finally found a multi-vitamin plus minerals. I felt way less tired after taking that for a couple of weeks. I log my food and i really have a hard time getting enough iron so i really needed a supplement. Good luck on your journey!

Christmas Challenge
Ya, my dr. told me NO beverages at all except water or zero calorie. They don't fill you up so it does nothing to curb your appetite. Altho a protien shake at least you are getting your protien from it. Any liquid will pass right through your band.

Christmas Challenge
I'm in! I have been on a plateau for 3 weeks, gonna kick it up a bit at the gym. I refuse to gain over the Holidays!!!! This is may first challenge, good luck everyone!

Work brought in lunch....UGHHH
Oof dah.... you should have seen what I did to the Halloween Candy Bowl! You did great, I think you demonstrated a great deal of self control! Good Job! (damn Peanutbutter Cups) But I'm back on track!!

The worst timing!
Could you keep your insurance and pay the premium yourself. I know that is out of pocket expenses, but at least you could still have the surgery. Kind of a crazy way about it I know... but something to think about! Good Luck to you!

When did you see a difference?
I've been doing cardio and strength training too and in the past 3 weeks have lost "zilch"! Gonna keep plugging away!!!! It's hard not to get discouraged, but I'm sure the weight will start moving again. I seem to eat more since I've been working out, going to try to cut back on this but I'm starving when I get home from the gym! (Don't always make the best choices)

I guess I'm a success story!
All I can say is "Thanks!" I needed that!

Banded 2006-I hate my band

Anyone else intimidated by the skinny's at the gym??
I got 3 month "free" membership at the fittness center (small but has lots of choices) in the Hospital where I had my surgery done. Lots of other lap banders there (which is kind of nice) and just an all around different crowd than at a regular gym. However, when my free membership is up, I'll most likely join one of the gyms in town.

Confused and discouraged
I was a grazer also... but the band seems to keep me full enough between meals to not want to "graze". Don't get me wrong, I could snack between meals, but I seem to be satisfied enough that with a little will power I don't. Try really hard to change the way you think about food, it's not easy but it is so worth it! Good Luck to you!

How many of you take Bariatric vitamins of some type?
I take centrum chewable Vitamin + Minerals. I need the iron and alot of them don't have iron in them.

When did you see a difference?
Where I had my surgery done they "stress" that you join a group called "NEW START" post surgery. It is a 6 week nutrition and fittness class that meet once every 2 weeks. They really stressed "strength training" in addition to the cardio. They said that weight training not only builds your strength and tones you but it does a lot to change your metabolism and kick it into gear. They really stress that it is AS important as the cardio. I never knew that before, but I have never been much of an exercise buff!

When did you see a difference?
I just started working out also, trying to go 4 times a week and do 1/2 hr. cardio (I can't make it on the eliptical more than 10 minutes:tongue_smilie:) usually do the tread mill for 30 minutes and I do all the weight machines, alternating muscle groups every day. It seems like a chore to go but I'm starting to enjoy it. I will admit, I sure feel good when I'm done! Good luck to you!

June 2010 Bandsters
I was banded June 29th and am down 65 total, 47 post surgery. I seem to be loosing steady but I don't feel like I am near my "sweat spot". I feel like I eat more than I should be, but I have had constant weight loss. I have a 10cc band and have had two adjustments for a total of 4.7cc. Hope to keep going down the same path but hoping for more restriction so I don't feel so much like I am "dieting". Keep up the good work!

Sugar Free Pudding
How many calories? I'll have to check them out.

Cheeseburgers
Rachel Ray made sliders one day and instead of a bun, wrapped them in lettuce. You can put anything on it you want, cheese, onions, ketchup, bbq sauce, bacon.... we made them one night, Delish!

Tired, Tired, Tired and sleepy help please....
Check your "chewable" vitamin and make sure there is iron in it. A lot of them do not have the minerals you need, they are just vitamins. I had this problem and i thought perhaps i was low on iron, so i was reading my vitamin bottle to see how much iron was in it and discovered there was NONE! Make sure you are taking a Vitimin/Mineral. It seemed to solve my "tired" problem. Good luck

Cheeseburgers
if you haven't had too many fills it might be ok. I could eat a burger until I had my 2nd fill. I usually take the top bun off but there were times I didn't. Small bites and chew chew chew, i can pretty much eat anything, bread i think is the hardest tho... Good luck!

BMI 35.7 and I want to lose 80lbs how long am I looking at?
My Dr wouldn't even think of giving me a fill until 6 weeks out and then because I had lost more than a average of 2 pounds/week he still didn't give me one. I had surgery June 29, 2010 first fill, and only fill to date, was August 3.6 cc and at 4 months after sugery I have lost 65 pounds. My BMI was quite a bit more than yours so I think these first 65 have come off fast... hoping to keep up at this pace! Good Luck!

Finally banded!!!
:thumbup:Yes... totally normal. I found it very hard to get my fluids the first week, my Dr. said that is normal. The first week can be physically uncomfortable. Good Luck
