Should I Get A Fill?
Well, if you are having trouble with solids now it will just get worse with a fill. You should be able to eat solids and not slime. What to you consider your "green zone"? Everyone has a different idea of this, usually put in our heads by our doctors etc. I consider myself to be in my green zone. I can eat anything, bread, Pasta, etc as long as it take little bites and eat slow enough. I get full pretty quickly, I don't always choose to stop and can eat more. It is realizing where to stop that I sometimes struggle with.

2 Years And 130 Lbs Later... Reached My Goal!
Awsome... you look wonderful!

Banded For Two Years 1/2 And Haven't Met My Goal!!!
Sorry, I've never thought of it but kind of misleading. That is the total after each fill, not how much extra was in each fill. My first fill was 3.7, my next fill was 1.0 = 4.7 Total 5.6 cc currently in my band.

Throwing Up After I Eat And Not Being Able To Drink Liquids In The Morning
Your too tight (imo). Too tight leads to problems and could cause a slip. You should really discuss with your DR.

Banded For Two Years 1/2 And Haven't Met My Goal!!!
OMG!!! YOU CAN DO IT. It's 28 pounds. I agree, get back to the basics. Eat healthy and exercise. I screw up, but the next day I get back at it. Don't let the old habits take over. If you have bad days, so what... but don't let it be everyday. Seriously.... you can do this. Track your calories so you can see what you are eating. I would strongly suggest a site like Sparkpeople or My Fittness Pal. I track everything that goes in my mouth and every calorie burned with exercise. It keeps me accountable! Good Luck to you! You CAN DO IT!

Why Am I Starting To Gain
How many calories are you eating? Are you exercising? I went 5 months without losing a single pound. I exercised at least 5 days a week and ate pretty much by the book. I could NOT lose an ounce. My dr and dietian suggested weight training instead of all that cardio. I started a "body pump" class 3 times a week at the gym. 5 week I lost 8 pounds. I don't know if that was why or if my body finally decided to give into the plateau but my weight started moving again. My dietian said that your body will get to a point that it just says "no way" "no more" your a heavy person and you are going to stay that way. You just have to keep doing what you are doing and push through. Don't let the, no weight loss, discourage you, eventually... it has got to give. Keep up the good work!

Sleeping On Your Stomach
That's the only way I slept up until I had surgery. It's been 2 years and I still can't sleep on my stomach. I am just so uncomfortable. Not sure why? I try every now and then. When I first roll over I am in heaven. I loved sleeping on my stomach. But it doesn't last long. Just can't do it. Oddly, I have gotten very used to sleeping on my back and I COULD NOT SLEEP a wink before on my back. Didn't think I'd ever adjust! But, I did.

Protein Shake
I couldn't gag them down. I used Carnation instant Breakfast mixed with milk for 2 weeks after surgery. Haven't touched a protien shake since. Good Luck

Frustrated About Tomorrows Fill.
Ha! yeah, I have noticed when I have had issues it is always something "I'm doing wrong" couldn't be a problem with the band. Good Luck!

Frustrated About Tomorrows Fill.
I have read of several people who have experienced the shoulder pain. I have read that it is related to the band. There used to be someone on this site that had a lot of trouble with it and her Dr's did link it to the band. Can you do a search of this site, maybe you could find some info out that way.

If You Could Really Turn Back Time, Would You Get Banded Again??
In a heart beat! I'd turn the clock back 10 years and do it all over again (8 years sooner). I have had very few, if any problems. You will learn to eat the right way and them little bites will just seem normal. I eat small bites and it takes me forever. I get full on a cup of food and it took a long time but I feel the satisfaction on that one cup of food I felt before after eating 2 plates of food. I struggle with "snacking" still but I work it into my "calories" and it all seems to work for me. Keep up the battle, soon it will feel normal!

Starting All Over And Frustrated
Congrats on the baby. Some people really need a lot of Fluid in their band to feel the restriction. Funny how different it can be for everyone. Good luck to you! YOu can do it. You exercise so that is a big plus. Maybe if you have been doing the same thing for a while you could change it up. I lost 130 some pounds and came to a screeching hault! OMG I have never been so frustrated in my life. I knew I didn't need a fill and I was eating well and exercised very regular. Went and visited my Dr and my dietitian and they suggested starting a strength training regiment. I now go to "body pump" at the gym. After 2 weeks of doing it (3 times a week) I have lost 9 pounds in a little over a month. Maybe it was because of that, maybe my body just finally gave in to the plateau... anyway it seems to have kicked me back into loss mode. Good luck to ya!

Hello ~ (Again)
Hello All, Just want to say "hi". I was very addicted to this site and then got away from it for a while. I've really missed it so I'm back. I don't see many familiar faces but am looking forward to getting to know some of you!

Sushi - Holy Cow!
I'm going on 2 years post op.... I would NEVER eat rice at a dinner party! I can eat a little rice but I mean "nibble" or it gets stuck. Does he know you've had surgery?

Greek Yogurt - Suggestion And Ty!
I hated all yogurt. I tried Greek a few times and couldn't get down more than 1 bite. Then I bought Oikos Key Lime Greek Yogurt. I am completely obsessed. Scrumptious. If you haven't tried it, try it. Truly my favorite thing to eat! LOVE IT!

Recipes For One
I didn't use to freeze anything. Now you can go to my freezer and have a buffet of choices. Chili, beef veg Soup, meatballs, meat loaf, beef stew, taco pie etc. And the food saver is worth every penny cuz everthing keeps for a really long time. I find somethings really hard to make in small quantities like chili or Pasta sauce.

Foods you cannot eat
I drink coffee all the time now. I didn't for the first year (except occasionally) But now I have one or two cups a day (altho some times I just do the decaf). Coffee is a diuretic so it aides in ridding Fluid from your body. They want you to not drink caffinated coffee because it can help dehydrate you and Water is more important now, with the band, more than ever. I was told for every cup of coffee you drink you need to drink one more glass of water. My advice... drink lots and lots of water if you are going to drink coffee. I have gotten used to decaf but I do still love a good strong cup of the regular Joe! Good Luck on your journey

1st Band Fill - Major Pain
You are too tight. What kind of restriction did you have before you had any fluid put in your band. Was there any fluid in your band from surgery?

Getting my Lap Band REMOVED today - And here's my story behind it(pics included)
You're beautiful! You've been through a lot, hope this solves the problem. The band, unfortunately, is not the answer for everyone. Best of Luck to you!

Dr. Metz Wouldn't Fill My Lap Band Because I Smoke
My surgeon would not do surgery on anyone who smoked. They told us at the seminar, "if you smoke you will need to quit for 6 months before we even consider doing the surgery" I don't know why, I was not a smoker... I was more concerned with "no chocolate"!
