I am scheduled and I am going to definitely give this a whole hearted try! My fear is if I can really make the life style changes necessary. I think I can, but I do have fear of failure. I am not afraid of the surgery at all and I am going to Mexico to have it done. My BMI is 34.2 and I just want my life back and my skinny self back!

Hello! I am doing some research as to the safety, satisfaction and success of those who traveled from the US to Mexico for the Lap Band surgery. I do not qualify with my insurance and I cannot afford the out of pocket fees where I live. Please share with me your experiences. To those of you who have done this, would you do it again? Have you been successful? Were you able to get the aftercare you needed in the states? Any thing else about your experience you would like to share....I would love to hear! Thanks in advance! DRP

Hi. I am giving some thought getting the Lap Band. Actually, very serious thought, but am trying to do some research. I do not qualify for surgery with my insurance, and I cannot afford the our of pocket cost where I live. I am giving some thought to going to Mexico. I have talked with many that had very positive experiences. However, in researching where I would get my fills done, I have received blatant "NO'S" from bariatric surgeons here in my area as to whether they would do the fills for me. So, I came across Fill Centers USA. They will do the fills for me, and have many locations where fills are done with fluoroscopy, but most are pretty far from where I live. My question is....are fills successful if done without fluoroscopy? Going to Mexico does not make sense if I cannot get the fills I need afterward. I am still willing to travel for the fills as necessary though. Your thoughts experienced Banders? DRP
