I have just started researching having the lap band done. I have been to the free local seminar at HMH, and I am right at 40 BMI with no co-mobidities (none that they count anyway). I have tried everything under the sun, and have lost, but it always comes back with a vengeance and I'm ready for that to stop once and for all, having been overweight since at least the 1st grade. I am worried about insurance issues because I've moved alot, changed docs alot according to having different insurance coverages here and there, and overall haven't gone to the doc alot about weight loss and afraid that will end up being an obstacle to showing 'proof' at different attempts. I have been as high as 235 and as low as 165 and everywhere in between. I am hoping the lap band will be the answer I've been looking for.
