  1. I highly doubt you have stretched it. The liquid goes through pretty quickly and most of us here have had that sick full feeling !
  2. I liked Jay Robb the best. Used choc powder, light hersheys and peanut butter for shake. Used unflavored in soups, applesauce, apple juice etc.
  3. Congrats! I used a lot of protein powder. I like Jay Robb the best. The chocolate and un-flavored. Ate a lot of jello, drank a lot of apple juice with unflavored protein powder during liquid phase. Ate applesauce and lots of soup. Tried the protein drinks/shots they are freaking DISGUSTING. Wasted a ton of money on stuff i ended up throwing out. Soup at hands were my best friend. Could eat for dinner and at work.
  4. Just wanted to see if anyone else has uploaded vids about their band to youtube! I think it is so therapeutic! My name is JenBandtastic please tell me yours i love watching other peoples vids! http://www.youtube.com/user/JenBandtastic?feature=mhum
  5. Hello! I also had hiatal hernia repair along with lapband! (and gallbladder removal 20 days earlier...whew) No problems with me! I had to stay overnight anyways due to sleep apnea but it rocked because I got that morphine pump :-)
  6. NO SPRITE OR GINGER ALE!!!! Oh and those whey protein shots....effing the most disgusting thing. I bought two boxes and only took like 2 shots! Don't buy a lot at one time! Got chicken broth, isopure (still kind of gross), jello, protein powder, apple juice. (the apple juice with unflavored protein powder got me through it!
  7. Oh...and it is one of the safest surgery's you can have!
  8. I think that there are a lot of people out there that see obesity as laziness and lack of will power. I think that plays into their opinions of WLS and they see it as the easy way out. My brother who can eat ANYTHING and still be great weight wise was against me having the surgery and I just had to do what I knew was right for me. Screw all those neysayers!
  9. My doctor was really a pain about the cpap...wouldnt let me get surgery until I had actually picked the machine up from the DME company. They also made me stay overnight to monitor breathing (actually a GOOD thing, got the good meds!) Now I haven't been using it since surgery, I know I should but I wake up all through the night.
  10. Ugh I feel the itching at times! Very strange, not sure what causes it but it typically goes away.
  11. Wow i'm jealous you got 4.5cc! I had 2cc put in on surgery day and 1st fill added 2cc. Total of 4cc in 10cc band, and need more! Able to eat everything!!
  12. I was eating eggs the first time I got stuck and of course it was in front of a ton of ppl! I felt like i was dying!
  13. This happens to me as well. At first able to eat easily, then tight then easily, all within like ten minutes!
  14. oh honey do i know what you mean! Even the smell of chicken broth makes me nauseous now! I had the EXACT same pain. I was freaking miserable and then the 3rd day I walked around a lot and took gas-x. I ended up feeling better by the 4/5th day. I promise it will get better! I was so so upset and in pain I cried too!
  15. I had my gallbladder removed september 2nd and my band put in sept. 21st. no problems for me!
  16. Oh do I feel your pain! I came down with some sort of stomach virus and it was terrible! Not throwing up, but the other way if you know what I mean! Eventually it went away but man I was worried!
  17. I had my first fill a month ago, my second is scheduled for next week! I was NERVOUS! However I didn't feel any pain from the needle and just some minor discomfort during the fill and while he was finding my port. It has helped but only have 4cc 's in my band so i have a ways to go! I'm sure you will do fine! I thought it was really interesting since I could watch the barium go down as I swallowed it. Crazy!
  18. I started at probably 3 weeks out. Just give it a small try and see how you tolerate it! I was craving salads SO bad!
  19. Sounds like you are on track! I have had one fill so far, another next week and it has been SLOW going. Before my first fill I had a really rough time!
  20. I have been wondering about this myself. I found weight watchers to be helpful for accountability especially. Interested to see if anyone has done it.
  21. Yes it is so annoying! I get my first fill next Wednesday and right now I can eat too much. I have had to fight to lose every ounce at this point because the band isnt giving me much restriction.
  22. Wow I can't believe they would give you pills! I had liquid lortab. I totally understand your pain, it is awful the first few days but i promise you will get through it! I wanted to go back and undo it I was hurting so bad! After about 5 days I started to feel normal!
  23. Unbelievable!! You look AMAZING!!!
  24. To debbie - I burped a lot too! actually still do! To poster: i am in the same boat. had surgery on 9/21 and lost about 12 lbs and now NOTHING. Its infuriating! I get a fill in 3 weeks but waiting is TORTURE!
