  3. Just thought I'd share....I know we are all looking for alternatives to Protein Drinks. While out shopping last night I found one that is pretty dang tasty. Mixed Berry and Strawberry Kiwi are really good. Gatorade post-game Protein Recovery 16 Grams of Protein 6 Sugars 7 Carbs 60 Calories per Serving (2 servings per bottle) ENJOY and have a Fabulous Day.

Gatorade just came out with a protein drink...pretty good w/ 16 grams...and only 6 grams of sugar.
  5. I can honestly say that I'm very pleased with how my skin "bounced back". I've lost 129 lbs in about 2 years. I've been extremely active, which is the only thing I can account for the way my body has reacted to the weightloss.

You'll be amazed and how much time you have on your hands. I found time to get back into hobby's I hadn't done in years...scrapbooking and cardmaking. For me excercise became my #1 outlet. When I feel the emotions coming, I put on my walking shoes and head out the door. Whether its a short stroll or a long hike, it keeps me grounded and its a friendly reminder to myself the commitment I made to change and become healthy again. I have found great friends here to talk to when I feel like I'm losing my mind. Your gonna do great....welcome to the journey.
  7. Good idea...funny how we make ourselves more accountable once you write it down )
  8. You look fabulous, and I love your positive attitude. YOU CAN DO THIS. When you have a setback or a bad day, pictures are a great reminder of just how far you've come. Congrats and keep up the great work!!

Yay...way to go! When I plateaued I watched my measurements too...really helped me when I didn't see the pounds going down on the scale to know the inches were still melting away! Congrats
  10. No question is stupid hun...we all learn from each other...sometimes I think we learn more from each other than from the Doctors.

YOU CAN DO IT>>>>welcome to the journey. I would do it over, even with the slip I had. Things happen and you pick up and go forward. I've learned more on this site in the last week....and I've been on my adventure for 18 months. Everyone is a little different but the support is amazing. Good Luck!
  12. For me...seems like my stomach is way more sensitive since the band. I personally had to go through the ER because I had moved from another state and was battling trying to find a Doctor to take over my care. Although going through being sick and having surgery to fix my slip was a nightmare...I found a phenominal Doctor in the process.
  13. I love #1 and what a great way to treat yourself....and what a day for you in the office. How fun, I love hearing things like that...they make you feel so good about yourself...he he he. Keep it up girlfriend...you got it going on )
  14. Slowly but surely I'm recovering and feeling better....stronger every day. I think my body is wiped out still from being so sick, but I'm making progress and my strength is coming back. I actually walked two miles today with daughter, felt great to get outdoors. No need to worry...Doc said I could walk walk walk  but I'm still on liquids for another 5 weeks. Thank you everyone for your continued support...Your all Amazing!!!
  15. Have you tried completely unfilling and starting over....gradually and slowly like you did when you first got your band??? Just a thought, but maybe going back to clear liquids, then soups, mush...etc...and reintroduce food to your system....really slow like 6 weeks. Hope things get better for you.
  16. Thank you so much...this has been the best site, all of you are amazing. Together WE CAN DO This!! All the support has been phenominal!!
  17. My Doctor doesn't do fills until after 6 weeks.
  18. Ahhh Fire Girl me too ) but I guess I'll take it for now and WALK WALK WALK. My Doc appt. went well though and I'm on liquids for another 5 weeks...wheww this is gonna be a tough one. He did increase my protein drinks to 5...8oz. a day to hopefully slow down the weight loss. I'm now 5 under goal...whooaaa I never thought that would happen. We can do this!!!

I LOVE IT!! Thank you for sharing...you will get there...stay strong and push forward. YOU CAN DO THIS!!
  20. Thank you so much for responding to my Blog. Knowing I can help one person...well, that is all that matters. My slippage was caused from vomitting associated with the Flu. The pain in which I had in my abdomen was so unbearable that I had my daughter rush me to the Emergency Room. After getting the vomitting and pain under control the ER Doctor had me do a Barium Swallow and the Slippage was detected....my Lapband was unfilled by the Bariatric Specialist on-call and I was told to wait to see if it would slip back into place. Two days later the pain was still so unbearable and I ended up having Emergency Surgery for the Repair. I'm now on my way and recovering well!
  21. I sit here struggling with the notion to write this or not...but something someone said to me yesterday is very disturbing. I think her words were "A Slipped Band is not a BIG Deal, quit your whining it can be fixed." I followed all the rules the Doctor gave me and for 18 months have had phenominal success with my band. I eat right and I excercise and within this time have lost 129 lbs...putting me 5 lbs under my original goal. Two weeks ago I came down extremely ill with the FLU and my world changed. I've never been so sick in all my life and the vomitting was non-stop. It landed me in the ER for two days, my LAP-BAND® slipped, they unfilled it...hoping it would fall back into place. Unfortunately it didn't and surgery was scheduled. My Doctor was not sure what they would find. Could I have been so sick that it could of caused a possible errosion. I was lucky...but it is a VERY BIG DEAL! I was in surgery for 4 hours to fix my Slipped LAP-BAND®...and a 3 day hospital stay. It just really angered me yesterday when someone told me to quit whining about surgery. Surgery is risky no matter who you are or how healthy you are. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my LAP-BAND® and I love the success I've had with it...but surgery of any kind is scary. Things like "throwing up" shouldn't be taken so lightly or carelessly. A slipped band can and will happen if you don't take care of yourself properly. I thought this forum was for sharing your stories and helping and supporting one another. If I can help one person not go through what I did, then its a success. Obviously I couldn't stop the Flu from happening, but I wish I would of gone to the Doctor at the first sign of being sick and had my LAP-BAND® unfilled. Maybe then I'd be out running today instead of being on day 7 of recovery. I will however not let this stop me or drag me down. I'm loving life and love the "new me". Everyone has a story and deserves to be heard!
