    Restaurants

Thanks for the info, I am going to have to look at the stuff I got after surgery, maybe I have a card and dont even know it. Most of the people I hang out with on a daily basis will share a plate with me or I order an appetizer. I ordered a few times off the kids menu but now that I am having more restriction most of it is fried or breaded stuff that I dont want. I do love going to ChicFila, I get the kids grilled chicken nuggets with fruit instead of fries and a diet lemonade... MY FAVORITE fast food meal!

    Jealous Spouse?

My husband has been very supportive but sometimes he will ask me if I am going to leave him when I get to my goal weight. I know deep down inside he knows I wont but some of his family members always tell hiim watch it. "She is pretty now imagine how pretty she is going to be thin, she is going to leave you!" I'm sure they think it is funny and are koking but it bothers my husband. I LOVE my husband and we have been through so much. I tell him all the time why would I leave a man I trust, a man I love and a man that I am building a life with. We work out together, go bike riding and are more active. It think this journey is bringing us closer together. Just give him time. Men are not good with change.
  3. You know back in January getting banded was so exciting and I felt like "I CAN DO THIS" but the honey moon is OVER! I was told today @ my fill that I need to really change my diet and even though they didnt say do Atkins the list of foods they gave to me eat and to avoid is basically an atkins type diet. I feel like been there done that (atkins diet) but failed and that is why I got the band. and now I paid close to $10,000 and you want me to do a diet I already tried? But I will try really hard to do what I am told. so here are some websites that were helpful to me in the past when I tried atkins before. www.atkins.com http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/lowcarbmenus1/Low_Carb_Menus.htm http://www.bellaonline.com/subjects/4649.asp http://www.southbeachdiet.com/sbd/publicsite/index.aspx There are so many out there you just have to google Low Carb and you will find so much. GOOD LUCK!
  4. I still feel have NO restiction. Very discouraged. I have a fill on wednesday of next week but just dont see this working for me. Feeling like I waisted $10,000. I know I also need to do my part but I just got off of working to 80-90hrs a week for the last two months so I just started exercising again. but I feel like a LABBAND Failure. I havent lost any weight and I was banded in January.

No Fist Fill Till 28Th And Gaining

I really needed to read these post. When I went for my first fill last month I was the same weight as my surgery day but last week for my 2nd fill I gained 4lbs. So now they want me to come in every 2weeks till my band is were it needs to be. My first fill did NOTHING but I can say this last one helped but I am NO WHERE were I need to be. Knowing I am not alone in this and other people are experiencing the same helps. I was starting to feel like a failure.
  11. I have a LOT of congestion and I bought DayQuil but it doesnt seem to be working. What liquid medication do you take for congestion/cough/cold? Also what do you take for Allergies? Also, for the Ladies, I am cramping like nobody's business. I usually take excedrine. Do you all still take what you did before and just crush it up or is there a liquid medicine you take.

    Time Off Work?

I just posted this to answer another person's questions "I had my surgery on a Wednesday and was back to work on Monday. I felt fine.. Yes I had lil pain but not bad enough were I needed to be at home. I also walked the mall the saturday after surgery. It really helped with my gas pains." I really felt fine after a couple of days. I do work a desk job and have very minimal movement so I think for me it was like just recooperating at home. I had my surgery at True Results in Houston. My port area was sore up until last week but didnt bother me enough to miss work. But I have read some people are in LOTS of pain afterwards and need two weeks. I do believe it is per individual on how healthy you are and how much pain you can take.
  14. I had the same pain right after surgery and I still get it if I eat too much (I am 20days out), I have to BURB it out. For me it is GAS! My hubby is just glad I burb it out and not the other!

    Isopure Drinks?

Oh ok, I purchased the Isopure protein powder so yes it needed to be mixed!
  19. ready4therealme

    Isopure Drinks?

That is what I used and it was on the list of protein drink I could have from my Dr. Office.. I would get the Vanilla Flavor and put frozen fruit and blend it in my blender... Was pretty good! if there is a Vitamin Shoppe near you I would buy Isopure from there. GNC is just way TOO EXPENSIVE! you would be amazed in the price difference between stores!

    Losing Too Fast?

Wow, I have had the exact opposite! The day of my surgery I weighed myself before we left to the surgery center and I weighed 256, that after when we got home from I weighed myself again and I weighed 263. It took a week to lose those 7lbs I gained the day of surgery and I havent lost anymore. I hear all these people talk about losing a lot of weight their first couple of weeks after surgery and I have LOST NONE! I am 2 weeks out and feel VERY DISCOURAGED!

    Protein Shakes

I use Isopure (Dr Recommended) they have SEVERAL Flavors! I usually only stick to vanilla because I can mix with all kinds of fruit. I also like to go to Smoothie King and order a small gladiator (grape and strawberry is my favorite combo) It feels like you are cheating... MMMMM GOOD! It is the only smoothie you can order there with LOW Carb all other smoothies are LOADED with sugar! You can also buy the Gladiator powder from them and make smoothies at home but I am usually on the run so I get a Gladiator Smoothie to Go!
  22. I just had surgery on Jan 11 and I used my FSA debit card. I do have a $5,000 limit per day so I paid for my surgery in two payments (first payment friday before surgery and then the monday before my surgery) and had no problems!

Pre Op Surgery Causing Stress With Spouse?

I am happy to say my husband SO FAR has been very supportive, even drinking and eating the only things I can have when he is at home our anytime we are together. But I can say he asked a couple of times if I am going to leave him when I get "skinny". So I bet your significant other is just worried about things changing after your weightloss. Communication is the key! Talk with him and help him understand you have worries too but you are doing this to be a HEALTHIER YOU!
  25. I cheated too on my pre-op diet. I was suppose to loose ten pounds and ended up losing 11. It would have been more if I didnt cheat but during my pre-op diet my husband's sister got married and between the rehearsel dinner and wedding I just couldnt help my self. But instead of throwing in the towel I got back on my pre-op diet and was REALLY GOOD! None of us are perfect and we ALL give in to temptaion.. That is what got us here in the first place. So dont beat yourself up. Brush it off and move on.
