  4. Thank you everyone for the comments. I had lost 10 lbs during one two week period, but I was going to the Y and exercising 2-3 hours a day my food intake is pretty much the same as before the surgery. Once I reduced the exercising, back came the 10 lbs plus 3 more. I don't drink liquids when I'm eating only before and after. I try to eat mainly Proteins, however I can eat eat bread, and whatever else I choose without anything getting stuck. The fill was done by me drinking a cup of Water, then fill was added, I would drink more water feel the restriction, the doctor withdrew the 1cc and then when I would drink it would hesitate for a moment then go through. The doctor double checked thechart, after stating something doesn't seem right, when he was adding up how much was in the band, after the 2nd in office fill when her realized how much was in the band 14 1/2 then he took out 1cc, now the band is supposed to have 13 1/2 cc in it right now, the bandis a 14 cc band. In my heart of hearts, I feel like there is a leak or something.....I wouldn't think it had slipped because I don't have nausea. But I truely have no idea. I will call the office this week and talk to the nurse/doctor about this issue. I have to do something. Thanks again for your comments and thoughts, I really do appreciate them.
  5. I was banded on 11/11/10 during the surgery 4 1/2 cc were placed in the band, I have had 2 fills since and at this time the band has 13 1/2 ccs and no restriction at all. During the 2nd fill the doctor was performing the Water method to get the band as close to good as he could and he stated that when he added an extra cc it was too much, so he withdrew the 1cc back out, in my thoughts I wonder how he could have had a total of 14 1/2 ccs to withdraw 1 cc out. I eat just as I did before the band and have not had any food getting stuck, vomiting, or nausea. I feel like something is not right, after reading all the stories and post, how could I have a full band after 2 post op fills and not feel anything different? I would be so grateful for any suggestions, words of wisdom or thoughts you might have to offer. Thank you all so much.

    1st fill during surgery?

Thank you Melissannd, I appreciate your post. I was a bit fearful of the surgery and then to have the Dr tell me that, I just wasn't sure how to think about the fill. Great point, with the head start!! Thanks again.
  7. I was banded 11-11-10. The surgeon decided to place 4cc in my band during surgery. He indicated that my stomache was very small and he was having trouble keeping the band in the right spot. Is this normal, has anyone else had a fill in their band during surgery? Futurefab
  8. Topazz I too am being banded first thing in the morning. I'm a bit anxious and scared. After doing the liquid preop diet for a week and 2 days, I have lost close to 20 lbs. Normally, I would be thrilled, but losing this just reminds me that I can do it on my own. I've done it so many times before. I have to think about it as something that may be able to crack my pattern. Lose, Gain, Lose Gain. I have to do something that is going to change the end result. Best of luck to you!! Well everyone being banded this month and everymonth. We are stronger in our hearts and minds for recognizing the opportunity before us!!! Lets run with it!!!

    Jumping on the bandwagon?

I'm scheduled for surgery 11/11/10 and went through the same contemplation that you are fight with. I have lost and gained 80+ plus pounds at least 8 times in my life. When I was attempting to figure this all out, the one thing I kept thinking about is I know I can do it alone, look at how many times I have in the past. Then I began thinking about things a little differently; the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing time and time again and expecting a different result. I can't do this too my body again (lose and gain the weight back). I have to change the end result. The weight is taking it's toll on my body and life can be so beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I wonder everyday if I'm making the right decision for me, but I have to feel like living again. Probably not the best advice, but I recognize the where you are in evaluating your world. Best of luck to you, in what ever you decide.
  10. Congrats to all the November Bandsters!! My surgery date is Nov 11th, YIPPY!!!! I've been going back and forth between being excite and scared. I'm sure these feelings are normal.... right? I've lost over 80 lbs at least 5 times in my life, let stress and life get the best of me. Now I'm right back to my highest weight again. Starting liquids tomorrow, I'm very excited. Wishing all of us the best!!
