Diarrhea after vsg???
I was sleeved on 5.21.10 and had the same problem. It seems to resolve itself once you start some semi mushy foods.

I'm home.....again.
I'm glad your home but Ihope you start feeling better very soon. Don't worry the weight will come off you just need some time for the swelling and fluids to leave and for you to get well.

3 weeks post op - Return to the gym for cardio only
Well I have been doing some reading and everything I read says that cardio in the morning is best for burning the most fat since it is before you have eaten anything and have fasted with no carbs all night long. My issue is that I have sever Hypothyroidism and mornings are very hard for me. Has anyone else heard that doing cardio in the morning is the best?

4 days Post Op. Ask me how I am feeling...
It's normal to feel the way you do. The biggest thing is to work all that anestec (sp?) out of your system. Constantly sip and walk even small distances as much as possible. I also did gator aide when I was really weak to help with the electrolites.

Protein HELP/SUGGESTIONS
I use a flavorless protein powder "Designer Whey" and I mix that with Greek Yogart, cottage cheese and a little fruit, soup, anything that has a creamy texture. Once it's mixed in I can't taste it at all. It's an idea.

Do I really look "sick"?
Tiff, I had an appointment with my dietician over a week ago regarding my goal weight and she mentioned to me that our close family and friends will need an adjustment period. I asked why and she said that people that love us end up remembering us as overweight and when we lose so much the are not sure how to adjust. We look smaller to them and so much different that to them we do look sickly. It made since to me.

What are you looking forward to?
Kathy... I agree with you. People really don't see how they treat over weight people. What is even more heartbreaking is that if its not doing something mean then it is just ignoring or looking past you. I am not sure which is worse.

Sagging skin?
I am in the same boat as you, worried about the sagging skin. I think everyone worries about it. But I have made a commitment to the gym starting the week after next and hopefully building some muscle while I lose will help me. I also think that waiting 1 to 2 years after weightloss for any type of reconstruction is a very good guideline. We will be losing so fast that our skin needs time to adjust and mode to the new frame. My mom has already "determined" that I will want my breasts done so she has started a "boob fund" in my honor. LOL. Thanks ma. But I really don't think much about the skin anymore, the most important thing to me right now is getting this weight off.

Cant decide / please help
I too was in the process for the band approval with my insurance co. until I recieved a call stating that my insurance guidelines had changed and they were now offering the sleeve as an option. I did my research for 48 hours and after that I made the decision to go with the sleeve and never looked back to the band. What made my decision? The probability that my insurance co. would only cover one weight loss surgery, If I was going to go through surgery it was going to be the one that would help me get what I want... those two reason's alone were the first 2 reasons that came to my mind and then others and others followed. Really consider both... for me hunger and cravings were a huge issue. I would not be worried about changing doctors and the extra time. The way I look at it is why rush and end up maybe having to have surgery twice?

Trying to exercise- odd side effect??
I would also have to say it sounds like acid. I would try not eating before exercising to give your body enough time to process it and get rid of the acid. If that doesn't work then I would definately take an additional anacid.

2 weeks post op tomorrow..I return to work Monday... I am scared and nervous
Thanks Pnw218. I am really concerned with the portion sizes. But 2 oz sounds doable. Now I just have to get the timing right with nothing to drink 30 minutes before or after I eat. 2 oz even sounds big to me right now if it is dense meat like chicken salad. But this does help. Thank you.

Newbie questions
Keep in mind that even a yearly women exam takes your weight. Or going to the emergency room, or an urgent care center. Anywhere that took your weight. Even if you had a gym membership. Anything along these lines helps with the requirement and could be pushed on the insurance co. to use. They are just needing something to say that you were overweight.

Could this be a new wierd side effect?
My niece and sister lives in Pensacola... well Milton. I lived there for a year. I think the biggest difference between Jacksonville and Pensacola is that there was at least a little breeze in Pensacola because the gulf was right there. Jax just has the ocean and rivers everywhere so you feel like your in mud all the time. But the cold feeling.. I have only lost 20 something pounds and I freeeze now.

I'm in Freaking hell
Curves, I agree some with every post. But I can also relate with you. I was in a relationship for 10 years and it was similar to yours. I can tell you until I am blue in the face to leave him but I know from my own experience that you have to want it and be ready for it mentally and emotionally. I know this time is hard for you. But like someone else said is a very good idea to cause some distance between the two of you. You know that you don't want to be with this guy, but your afraid of being alone or maybe just needing some time to adjust. Either way.... reflect on what you need rght now and in one way or another move forward even if it is in small steps.
