Diarrhea after vsg???

Hi, I am 4.5 days post op and everyone else seems to be worried about constipation but I am having the exact opposite. Since PO day 2 I have had diarreha. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this? I have had some problems pre op with this after weaning off of metformin(diabetes med). I see surgeon tomorrow so I pray he has some answers!

  • I was sleeved on 5.21.10 and had the same problem. It seems to resolve itself once you start some semi mushy foods.

  • Same here ,, it will go. Get enough fluids in !

  • Thanks all, it is still going on, surgeon said its ok to take a dose od immodium to help! I think if it wasn't for the rear end I'd be feeling great!!

If you're on a liquid diet, it's liquids in, liquids out. People tend to go the other direction once they move to solid foods, and start complaining of constipation.
