  1. I was sleeved 4 years ago. Lost 130 lbs but have gained 30 back over the last few years. I would be interested in attending some sort of support group in this area if one were to be established.
  2. Dr Kelly is doing his own booking now and not using A Lighter Me anymore...this of course ticks them off and IMHO, they suck for trying to destroy a GREAT doctor for their own financial gain. Shame on you A Lighter Me!!!

    Aceves Patients: Surgery Schduling...

I booked with them on 5/26. My surgery was 5 days later on 5/31. I asked for a 'soon as possible date' because we were going on vacation the end of June and I wanted my incisions to be healed.

    I need more calories!

Upping the calories without adding to the carbs is so hard for me but I know I need to as I've noticed that I loose more weight with more calories. Watching this thread, come on gals, give us some fresh new ideas! =)

  7. Wow! A HUNDRED pounds!! Congratulations!!!
  8. Christie, I saw a comment you made on a post here, followed your siggie link to your blog and love all the helpful post, especially the ones on what you're eating. Thank you so much. I would also love to follow your facebook post that you mentioned in one of your post but I didn't see a link. Oh well, thank you. BTW, you're about 10 days ahead of me on your journey, I was sleeved on 5/31. =)

    Begining Weight - UGH.

  10. Think about a ship leaving Spain heading for America. One tiny change to its course and it will end up in a completely different place because it has to travel across the entire ocean. The same is true with our WLS journeys. The changes we make to our old lifestyles from sedentary to active, from eating high-fat/high-calorie foods to lower-fat and healthier balanced meals take our lives in a completely new direction. We are the captains of our lives. We can steer them in any direction we want and there is no timetable that says we have to get to goal by next week or next month. What is important is that we make the lifestyle changes necessary to reach our destination!

    Cant decide / please help

Your story could be my very own. I ended up moving from lapbandtalk to verticalsleevetalk and getting a sleeve. Couldn't be happier. BTW, according to Dr Aceves nurse, they do just as many band to sleeve revisions as they do sleeves...
  13. I didn't really "need" anybody although my husband was there. You'll do fine even if you are alone.
  14. I was done by him on May 31st of this year. Had an awesome experience. Congrats to ya!

    Input needed

I was wondering if someone from each stage of banding (before, week following, 2 weeks after, 3 weeks after and 4 weeks after) would be willing to post what your day looks like. I'm not asking for exact foods eaten, but maybe something like this: 8am Protein shake 9am started Water, sip 64 oz over the course of the day 10am drank more from Protein Shake 11am treadmill - 20 minutes etc See, I've read all the material and it's in my head but I'm just not sure how to keep it in front of me. My surgery is 2 weeks away. Thanks in advance.

    Mexico

My low life doctor quoted me a price of $16500 (all inclusive) when I called to get pricing for lap band surgery. I make an appointment, then go to a nutritionist per his instruction (additional $250), go to a general doctor (per his instruction) for a letter of medical necessity and ekg (additional $300) and how he's telling me that they have gone up on their price $3000. So, can anyone recommend a doctor in Mexico? I hear they do the surgery for around $7000 (all inclusive).

    Mexico

Thank you for the information. Is your surgery date so far away by choice or is he booked that far out?

    Mexico

Thank you. I found this post: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f11/researching-mexican-lap-band-surgeons-101-a-66635/ and emailed the gal that wrote it. I'm hoping she'll make a suggestion too.
