  1. My band is a "french band" apparently I should pay more attention to my Dr. The port is smaller and they dont stitch it. When he flipped it back over he put some stiches in and we are hoping for the best. Ill know how successful its been within a few weeks when I get another fill.
  2. Well I went this morning and had it done. It wasnt too bad, nice and numb so no pain, The area is a little tender now, but its only been 2 hours...so it may get worse.
  3. Hi Guys. I am due to go see my doctor tomorrow for him to reopen my port site as it has flipped. Has anyone had this procedure done? Does it hurt alot? Should I get someone else to drive me? Please any advice would be great
  4. Heya I was put on the same liquid stage as you too.. Anything that can fit up a thick straw. I stuck to Soups, Yogurt and Protein shakes. I have to do this for 3 weeks (finally finishing this Thursday yay!) After this stage its then Mushys...so anything that will "squish" through your fingers like weetbix, Tinned Fruit, Chunky soups etc... for 2 weeks. Then normal food. I dont eat until I feel full, I have maybe half a mug of Soup and then another 2 or 3 hours later some more if im feeling hungry. I didnt really get hungry until this week (3rd week) But I still take it easy and try not to have too much..Slippage scares the crappola out of me haha. Good Luck, Hope this helps.
  5. Hi Everyone. Im new to this forum and newly banded on 14 Oct 2010. My recovery was going pretty well, this wonderful forum has helped so much THANK YOU. Until.... Last night. When im sitting or laying down all is ok. But when I stand up it feels like my port area is "Hanging" and sooooo sore. Its hard to describe but if i put a pillow over the site and kind of hold it, it gives some relief. Its like I cant stand up straight, like it wants to rip. My port is located to the left, near my hip... I have a large swollen tummy too so this doesn't help either i guess. Please - Anyone - If you can offer any advice or just make me feel better by telling me its normal :w00t: Id feel much better.
  6. Hey! We are Band Twins haha, I was banded also on the 14th Oct. In Brissy. Congrats by the way. Im Just starting to get a little hungry now...well today. Ive mainly been having Up and Go's (1/4 of them) Tomato Soup, chicken soup etc as had NO appetite until today. So, Today I went and got stuff to make a sweet potato soup which was super yummy. Much like a pumpkin soup...just with sweet pot - Obviously had to Water it down a fair bit so not too thick. My Dr has a 3 week Fluid stage post op - He says and I quote "If it doesnt fit up a thick straw, dont eat it" He recommends Veg and meat stews pureed - Sounds great huh? I Guess ill get to that in a few days when ive finished my current batch of soup. Theres a book called Knife, Fork and Band that you can buy and theres a free sample online to download that has some ideas. I googled lap band recipes to find the sweet pot one. Good luck with your journey and I hope to keep getting up dates on your progress. Mish. Aussie Aussie Aussie.
