    Saturday December 9, 2006

4th day of my POD (pre-op diet). Last night was rough. Had my pre-testing yesterday and had annual checkup with pcp. Recovering from resp. infection and she told me if I'm not significantly better by Monday, I need to call my surgeon and reschedule :cry . Tuff. Don't know if I was stressing or hungry but, I ate a big spoon of peanut butter and 2 slices of cheese, Not on the approved list of things I can eat right now from my surgeon of course. Today will be better. Getting my water allotment for the day set out and planning exactly what I'm gonna eat to hopefully stick with. The barium from the upper GI passed well. No constipation from it :speechles . Enough for now. Just sent a link to my daughters and 3 closest friends that will send them to the LBT site for info, as I've not really communicated a whole lot of info. Me

    December Bandsters

I had all my pre-testing done Friday afternoon was all set for banding Wednesday the 13th, but was running a low grade fever. I'm recovering from a bout with bronchitis and not completely over it evidently. My PCP put me on 2 different inhalers. Her comment when she came back in the room after checking my chest x-rays was..."Well, there's good news and bad news...the good news is, it's not pneumonia, the bad news is, if your not significantly better by Monday, you need to contact your surgeon :phanvan. Anyway, that's where I am tonight, and kinda bummed out. However, I know it's definetly for the best as far as my health, don't want to take any chances! Thankfully they were able to get me re-scheduled on the 20th of Dec. So, this Wednesday, it's back to the "pre-op" diet and the countdown. By the way, on a scale of 1 to 10, how BAD is the pain afterwards.. such a wimp here, I'm all for the miracles of medication.... Have a good week all. Kathy in Chattanooga<!-- / message -->

    LB surgery date 12-13-06!!

Thanks all for your comments. Did my pre-surgery testing today, yum gotta learn to love that barium...lol. Does anybody go through this and NOT have second thoughts? I don't really have any one super close and supportive. When I was in my pcp's office today ( for annual routine exam) my doctor's radiologist hugged me and was so very encouraging. I didn't realize how much I needed that. Kathy in Chattanooga
