  1. Hi there,

If you're using IE 7.x, the following steps should allow you to enable JavaScript:

    1) Click the Tools button. The Tools button should appear as a Gear icon, to the right of the Page button.

    2) Select "Internet Options" from the dropdown.

    3) Select the "Security" tab in the window that appears.

    4) Select "Custom Level" near the bottom of the window.

    5) Scroll down until you locate the settings titled "Active Scripting"

    6) Set "Active Scripting" to "Enable"

    7) Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.

    8) Confirm the settings by clicking "Yes" in the confirmation window that pops up.

    9) Click the "OK" in the tools window.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ken

Enable was already set on my work computer. I will check on my home compter later. Could you change the surgeon to Dr. Brain Long at Sibley hospital in Washington DC. for me please. I don't have the time to deal with this now. Thanks

  2. I don’t even see a drop down list. Should I be on this page http://www.lapbandtalk.com/patient/viewpatient/26079/edit

Clicking edit profile does nothing and click here to change status redirects me http://www.lapbandtalk.com/user/298781-wantinghealth/

Then clicking lap band patient profile redirects me back to http://www.lapbandtalk.com/patient/viewpatient/26079

    In an endless loop.

  3. Well I had already lost 45 lbs during my 6 month pre-op diet by not eating rice Pasta or bread and only eating small 1 cup portions. I had my lapband placed on Feb 17th 2011. I had my first fill on March 15th. My portion sizes went to 1/2 cup after my first fill. I have lost 18 lbs since the surgery for a total of 63 lbs. I just went to a follow up yesterday and did not get a second fill. I did not want one and the doctors said I did not need one. I had lost 11 lbs since my last follow up 5 weeks ago. My next follow up is in another 5 weeks or sooner if I think I need a fill at that time.

  4. I went for a follow up yesterday after work on March 15 that was 2 days shy of 4 weeks out for me and they gave me my first fill. I had not lost any weight in the last 2 weeks and was hungry between meals. Unknown to me I had 2 cc's in the band from the surgery (they said that was for buoyancy and did not count that as a fill because it did not put any pressure on the stomach) and they added 1 cc for my fill. So I have 3 ccs now. Those of you that will be getting a fill soon, relax It did not hurt to get the fill at all. It is a funny feeling to drink Water and have it sit there a moment and then trickle down. I am on liquids for 24 hrs then back to soild foods. I had a protien shake for dinner last night. I weighed myself this morning and had already lost 1 pound.

  6. I have used a Cpap with a nasal mask for about 1 year now. There are products out there that can make it more tolerable. RemZZZ makes a mask liner. And there are strap covers by several companies. And I use an extra long hose with a tube cover and an arm hanger to have the tube come straight down instead of from the side. The arm swivals as I turn. I also use the mask liner and the strap covers. Just do a google search. There are many products out there that could help.

  7. I had everything done and was ready to send the package to the insurance. I was hoping for an end of December or beginning of January surgery date. I would have preferred Shady Grove but there are only 2 other bariatric surgeons there. One has an office in Fredrick and wants an upfront fee of I think it was $500 and wanted me to start over with his nutritionist. The other does not take any insurance. He takes self pay only or those that can go out of network and do the paperwork themselves to get partially reimbursed. I have Aetna and cannot go out of network. Therefore it is not possible for me to get it done at Shady Grove. However the surgeon at Sibley said to bring in a copy of all my records at my consult January 4. They said if I have everything they will not charge an upfront fee or have me start over again. After the consult I will make a decision of which surgeon I prefer.

  8. I am in the same boat as you. I still am not sure of what to do.I went to the Vitamin and preop class at Sinai. I did not get a good feeling about the hospital nutritionist. She had very different advise than what we were told. I think she has more experiance with bypass patients than lapband. And by the way Dr. Cynthia Long will not be opening at Sinai until February . I do have a consult with a doctor at sibley. His name is Dr. Brian long. (coincidence same last name). I will make a decision between the two of them.
