  1. Hi, Cherie. I actually work for Health Alliance, and I'd suggest calling them tomorrow to find out what surgeons are available through your plan (The number is 1-800-851-3379 and they're there starting at 8 am). Most of our insurance plans (it depends on who you have your plan through--each employer can set it up differently) have you go through a program called I Can Change where you work with your family doctor and your surgeon for a while before your surgery to make sure you're ready for the surgery and have the education you need to be successful long-term once you have the band. If you call, then one of the customer service reps can explain more about how your plan works for bariatric surgery and give you the names of doctors who are in your network. Good luck!
