  7. I too don't see myself as FAT until I look at pictures or I pass by a full size mirror. I use to think I looked the same as I did when I was in my early 20's but that's was when I was a size 7/9 and can you believe I thought I was HUGE...!!!!! When I first was thinking if this was the right thing for me or not I asked my mom for her advise and she said to me "well don't you see yourself and how fat you are" that was very devastating for me and knew I had to do something about my weight. I can't even walk up a hill without running out of breath. Plane rides I dread because just a little more and that belt won't go anymore:( We are taking a trip in December and I know I won't have that problem:thumbup: David314: Congrats!!!!!!
  8. Cathy--thanks for the info (breathing apparatus)...
  9. Thanks guys for the info. I was just going to go to Costco and get what they had...
  10. Hi NYsLegend78: getting close to your date:smile: Question for you? what is the lung apparatus for and I did my blood work and biginning of the process, do you have to do it again? thanks for any info

  14. Thanks Bob.... I think I got it
  15. JullianRN: I had the same trouble.. what I ended up doing was copy and paste. You also want to add the page where your ticker is at to your favorites ( I had a really hard time finding it, before adding it to my favorites). If there is an easier way, please let us know...:scared2:
  16. Hi Cathy, Well last Friday I called the hospital to get a pre-op time. So Pre-op at 9:30 on 9/21 SX- 9/22 not sure the time but that they are going to tell me during my pre-op.. Do you guys know if this is when I see my doctor again? I need to start drinking my protein drinks 2 wks before surgery so I need to start looking into buying that... and yes my doctor wants me to stay overnight but I think that depends on the doctor because from what I have read some doctors have you leave the same day and others have you spend the night... I am soooo excited for you:thumbup:
  17. Phershey-same here... I need to keep up with my kids and not pass out on activities because of my weight. I also fly alot because of my job and I hate it that people pass me by because they don't want to sit next to the fat lady:sad: But no more of this for us...
  18. Hi Zeniada, I'm also in Chula Vista:smile:My surgery is not until 09/22 but that is also my biggest fear not the lapband it self. But the anesthesiologist are doctors and they do this all the time. I've had two previous surgeries for other things and that has always been my fear but before I know it I'm waking up... You are going to be fine and I look forward to hearing about your journey....But do mention to the dr. about what happen last time:redface:
  19. CsinTX- LOL, sooo true:smile:
  20. sourmissg: she said because we have a higher potential for dehydration. She also reminded me that we can't drink with our meals we have to wait 30 min after we eat. stateofzen: I don't know if it has... I saw something on utube of a people stating it failed after 7/8 yrs but I think just like everything your going to find posatives and negatives.... I think we all did the re-search, feel good about our doctor's and made the right decisions for us...
  21. Hi Mumzer, I'm from San Diego... Do you mind telling me who was your surgeon? thanks
  22. Ok... my friend got her lap-band 18 months ago. I finally told her today that I was also having it done. I asked her a bunch of question. No she doesn't regret it because she has lost 80 pounds. She said she follows it because one time she over did it and threw up and doesn't want to experience that again. She also recommended that we always carry water with us all the time.... I've been reading some stuff on-line and some people say that the band fails after 10 years. Did any of you ask your doctor about the duration of it? thanks
  23. Cathy.. I know exactly what you mean. Fast food is cheaper but as we know not good for us. Phershey- Keeping my fingers crossed for you that insurance approval is fast..... Danide- so true... been there. I look at old pictures when I weighed 140 and I use to think I was sooo huge... but we are starting a new chapter in our life and this is for a lifetime:tongue:
  24. Thank sourmissg, I was the same way I did not want to start shopping until I got insurance approval.... But from what I've been reading they are not taking long to make a decision, mine only took about a week. Good luck... Congrats sannersplace72:thumbup: I'm going shopping tomorrow for all the vitamins, see how that goes...
  25. So I got a call from the doctor's office. Pre-Op appt 09/21/10 and surgery on September 22, 2010. Nervous and excited at the same time. :smile2:
