    I agree with he posts thus far> No grilled food for you yet my dear! I am 9 days post op and I start mushy foods sept 9th.. and not solids until two weeks after that. I know all surgeon's orders are different, but I know you should hold off on the solids for a few more weeks.

    I say the scale is a damn liar! LOL! My scale tries to tell me the same crap. I think it's trying to discourage me because I'm starting to look hot! To tell you the truth, I know that I am working my butt off with exercise, etc, so if the scale wants to continue to have an "attitude" I'm "kickin' it to the curb" and only weighing in when I see the doc We will see how this works.. Maybe just an empty threat at this point.. But hell it felt good saying it! Hope you are having a better day!

  4. Hello friends! I have missed talking to you all! Well you all know that I put myself on a pre-surgery all liquid diet 2 weeks prior to surgery. Well I am on the third week of solely liquids and I have lost a total of 24lbs! I have lost 8 pounds since surgery 8 days ago. They had to repair a hiatal hernia when they put in the band. I am doing SUPER. I cannot believe that I have already began part of my work out routine (brisk walking and 10 mins on the elliptical (without the use of my arms)). I have a ton of energy, awesome attitude and the gas pains FINALLY subsided by day 5. I do not return to work until September 21. I plan to treat myself to a new hair style, a sexy office outfit and some bad stilletos! Also, I WILL post new full body pics right before I return to work. I plan to be 40 pounds down by then. I should be able to tell a big diff with my clothes. How am I losing the weight so fast? i do this by dedication, being loyal to my diet and PRAYER! I told God the other night, "Because I am obedient to YOU, I expect to be fabulous because I am your creation, made in your image and I don't expect to be anything less!" It's important to remind God of our expectations :confused:

    the emotional part after the banding

    I am soo thankful that I read all of these posts. I was banded 8-26 and was totally stoked for the first couple of days and then on the day that I was first home, I remember thinking, WTF did I just do.. I have been on the liquids for three weeks now (2 pre-surgery) and I too thought.. damn.. maybe you could have done this on your own.. Then there was yesterday.. Someone on Facebook made a dumb azz comment about my Lapband being a "quick fix". When I shared this with my husband, he really didn't say too much. I wanted him to get all upset like I was. When he did not, for some reason I was soo upset and started crying hysterically (I am definitely NOT a crier).. well maybe for some sappy Lifetime movie.. LOL But you know what I mean.. I don't get emotional over day to day stuff. So I think that surgery in itself may have ups and downs.. but I notice the better I heal.. the better I feel! Good luck to you.
  7. I know what you mean about this weight battle being mostly mental. When I was younger if I got depressed and stressed I would not wanna eat. Now, I am totally the opposite! BUT.. I have came this far, so I know that I can focus the rest of my life on making healthy choices. 9 days post-op and I have already started walking. 5 miles outdoors under my belt today! :)

    Thanks! This past April we celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary. I married pretty young at 18. I think that I just don't look big because I am next to Chris who is 6'7 and 290. LOL I remember this pic was on Father's Day and I am 5'7 and in this pic I was 261. Those jeans are a size 22. Crazy right?! I think that I just carried it well?! My top half was always smaller than the bottom half

  12. sooo good to hear all is well with you too! We will get that "sweet spot" and we will be successful.. simply because we are believers AND children of God if not for anything else! When you get a chance, make sure you read my blog for today ;) Off to clean the house.. ugghh! LOL!

  13. Hey there lady! Well I had the surgery 8-26. I am doing fabulous! I started at @255 2week pre-liquid diet (pre-op) and I weighed in yesterday and I am 231!!! I am beyond thrilled! i am going to do one more week of the solely liquid diet and then i am going to move onto to the mushy stage. Thanks for the kind words, it keeps me motivated. I have already started my exercise plan a few days ago and started the elliptical yesterday (only was able to do 10 mins) of course not using my arms. How lontg have you been banded for my dear?

  14. Hey girl!! I am sorry that I just saw your nessages! I just wanted to rest a few days. I am so glad that your surgery went well. It is very exciting! I had to have a hiatal hernia repaired along with getting my Lapband. I had A LOT of gas pains. It starts in the shoulder area, and it was not no joke! I was finally relieved by day 5. Did they give you a breathing aparatus? If so, make sure you breath into it 10xs each hour. This will prevent pnemonia. I have already started working out (brisk walking) and I was ble to get on the elliptical for 10 mins yesterday. I have been on soley a liquid diet for 3 weeks now. After one more week of liquid, I am going to go to mushies. My doctor did not put me on a pre-op liquid diet, but I did research and saw that I could maximize me weigt loss by doing 2 weeks solely liquid before and after. You are gorgeous! A size 16!? I cannot wait till I am that size! I started at a 22! You are gonna be one (even hotter) hot momma! Please keep in touch!

    NO Patience

    I tried to post a comment, and for some reason I do not see it! LOL.. Basically I was advising you to increase your calories by 300 for a week and see what happens. With all that you are doimng daily activities AND working out a lot, you are not providing your body with enough fuel to burn, instead it is going into starvation mode and holding on to the extra calories.

    NO Patience

    If you are working out 4Xs a week and only eating 800-900 calories, that does not sound like enough calories. In other words you may wanna bump up your calories by 300, and then see what happens. The reason I say this is because your metabolism may be in "starvation mode" because with normal every day activities AND exercising instead of burning the calories, your body may be storing them because there is simply not enough caloric intake with all that you are doing.. Just a thought. Try bumping up your calories (protein) and then let me know what happens in a week. I bet your body will use those extra calories as fuel to burn

    Liquid Diet

    Good luck on ur liquid diet! It does get better! I have been on the liquid diet for a week ands a half. My surgery is scheduled this Thursday. I am drinking V8 (lite) for the juice and regular V8 for the veggies. I also drink broths, protein shakes, water and decaffinated tea. You should alos be able to have sugar free popsicles and Jell-o.

    searching for advice

    I use Muscle Milk Lite (Chocolate) from GNC. It has 32 grams of protein per 8 oz (2 scoops), 2 grams of sugar. However it has 16 grams of carbs, Is this bad?
