I got my lap band at University of Illinois, Well I had it put in on 9/2006 I was 315 was down to 163 in 2009 then Major things were starting to happen. I had no restriction my port was bending with my body and to top it off I lost my job so had no insurance ! ! I paid for the visits out of pocket $ 250. 00 they were not helping. The doctors wnated to have nothing to do with me ! I guess they got thier $ worth out of BCBS $34, 000. NOW i HAVE PUT ON 50 PDS AND NO ONE WILL HELP !! The sad thing is I live in chicago with sooo many university, hospitals, and specialty doctors . And not one I have called will help !! Good Luck. :wub: Just stay motivated if you can keep alling until they know your voice and call you by name. lol -

I was banded in 2006 my start weight was 315 b4 surgery, lost a total of 176 pounds !! I was ready for plastics last year, then in november my band wasnt working right , I had no restriction ! paid for 3 more adjustments out of pocket $250 ea, nothingn now I have put on 57 pds & I need help!! But with no ins, the drs at UIC WONT EVEN LOOK AT ME!! SO DISGUSTED ALEX, Do you have any words of wisdom?

im going through the exact same thing you are, I'm not sure what advice I can give you but , did you try calling your doctor? I think my puch is stretched, and I feel my port when i bend over noe that im 50 lbs heavier again.!! I'M BACK IN SIZE 16 AND THEY R TIGHT I WAS 315 PDS BEFORE BANDING! Rachel, Please be tell me, when you get new fills does it feel like its not working anymore? I had all the same problems that you having. but now i havent had an adjustment for 8 months i gained 50 pounds , ( was down to 163) now back up to 210!!!! the doctors and nutricionist kept telling me there is nothing wrong even went for a ct scan and all they saw was gallbladder stones !!! Well needless to say I have no insurance I paid for the last 3 fills out of pocket. UGHHH im so sad disgusted wish I never lost the weight cuz its so hard to stay focused! make sure u get a second opinion.
