  5. Just wanted to thank you for the nice comment! I hope you're out of Bandster Hell (or soon will be) and finding some help with restriction. Best wishes with your journey and drop me a line if I can help with anything! -BG (Oh, and my youngest plays the guitar in a garage band, so maybe I'll be a real groupie some day LOL)

11/18/10 Thanks for Sharing; A Blog of Substance

I was banded in August and have been following along at this site since then. I don't know what my problem was but I read several of your posts before I realized you weren't associated with a musical group but that your name was a reference to the lap band (I'm not usually dense)! Anyway, I wanted to thank you for your posts. I agree with Sandradee0124 . . . they always resonate with me, too.

    17 Months and Reflections

Your success story is very encouraging to me! I intend to replicate the degree of your success . . . you have a 14-month lead over me but I am following in your footsteps. Thanks for sharing!

    October is my mulligan...

It's great that you can keep it all in perspective. After all, one month, in the big picture, is practically a moment in time and not something to beat yourself up over. The great news is that you enjoyed your vacation and the holiday without setting yourself back a few pounds and now you'll get back on track and move forward again. You're doing great and you've set a great example for those of us who follow a few steps behind.

    wow 11-1-10

I really relate to your story. As time went by, I became less and less successful at trying to put on a happy face while being miserable about my weight. I'm on my way now to a thinner version of myself and I'm looking forward to happy shopping experiences. I know you'll get there, too!! I wish you much success!

    Hope vs. Belief

I've been encouraged and inspired for three months at this site and I finally decided to post my first blog. I've been banded for 8 weeks now and am so excited to be down 35 lbs. so far! I was in the 4th grade when I took my first "before" picture and began the dieting/gaining cycle that has over-shadowed my life ever since. I regret that I've spent so much of my life living on the sidelines . . . "I'll wait to go to the reunion until I've lost some weight" or "I'll take a dance class after I'm thinner" or "I'll join that group when I'm not embarrassed about the way I look". I've wasted so many opportunities that would have enriched my life! The dream of living life as a thin person has seemed like an illusive dream since childhood but the good news is that it has ALL changed now. I am more than hopeful since my LAP-BAND®® surgery, I actually believe I will get to my goal weight! It's a pain-staking process of eating right, exercising consistently, following the guidelines every day but now it's no longer a matter of "IF I could lose the weight", it's a matter of "WHEN I lose the weight". Thanks to those of you who have shared your experiences and your successes here . . . it's been very helpful to me. Stay tuned, another success story is in the making.
