Feeling sooo full
Combination of pain (shoulder, chest, abdominal), high fever and body chills. Those are the signs that all of us should never ignore. Hope you feel better.

Proof of weight loss attempts
For my revision they didn't ask since I already had the band for many years but for my band I remember having to just list all my diets like Weightwatchers, Jenny Craig, diet pills, hypnosis... etc. Anything I could remember off the top of my head that I tried in order to lose weight.

Not "hungry", but hungry..?
Forgive me if I repeat any of the other responses. I always check the threads off and on while I'm working. I had hunger but not really hunger up until day 16 or so. Swollen stomach, excess acid (the stomach makes excess acids due to having 75-80% removed) mimics hunger. Depending how fast you heal, that nagging hunger will finally subside. I don't have much of an appetite any more, and I struggle to begin eating anything for the day but it's a relief. There are supposed to be "waves" of this throughout the next few weeks/month as our bodies are adjusting to the major surgery. Just make sure you keep taking you antacid twice a day. Hope this helps!

Stomach cramping & nausea.
Did you get a prescription for Hyoscyamine for muscle spasms/cramps? It really helps.

Having a hard time quitting smoking
@cubunanyc You're very welcome.

Having a hard time quitting smoking
Can buy ejuice with zero nicotine (just has pg or vg with flavoring). For me, it took 11 days vaping zero nicotine to pass. Everybody is different though, depends how much you vape (or smoke), how much Water you drink... etc. I actually bought nicotine testing strips from amazon months before to get an estimate.

Bowel incontinence.
@@VSG1965 To be succinct, no it's not a common problem. Good your surgeon is up to date on your condition. I'd get a second opinion as well.

Eating is difficult
I couldn't have anything but liquids till week 3. pureed foods began at week 3. Pureeing it to a consistency of baby food (Literally. Ick, I know lol) is what I had to do. Instead of going back to liquid diet, perhaps trying pureeing it or trying some baby food, see if that helps. Your stomach is still swollen and therefore air gets caught up inside the tight tube while you're eating, the pressure you feel is the air having a difficult time trying to get out.

Need some flavor
Homemade fruit infused water is mostly what I drink, and I love it.My current favorite is watermelon. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

I know that everyone is different.
Day 3 or 4, I felt really good with the exception of stomach muscular pain (like overworked ab muscles). After 7 years lap band, I had the band to sleeve revision which may be why for my speedy recovery. Decided to add this: I did have trouble feeling hungry and that bothered me, but after day 16 when my stomach swelling went down, the fake hunger feelings dropped off. Band to Sleeve people, how was your recovery?
Yes, probably all of us. It feels like you've done a million sit ups. Hurts to twist or bend over... Etc. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App

Hungry
@rostersrm Whenever asked what is it that I wish I knew before I surgery, I always list that. Like you, I was asking myself "Wow, what is going on?" We do all heal differently so your hunger may drop off even sooner than mine or vice versa. Also, throughout the whole time, it may be excess acid on any given day, but being aware of this phenomenon. I think makes it easier for us to deal with. ^^

Hungry
@@roostersrm Some aren't hungry and others are really hungry (more that they think they are hungry). When the stomach makes excess acid = mimics hunger or when the stomach is swollen/healing=mimics hunger). I was like you, I was so surprised I was hungry. About day 16 or day 17, my hunger disappeared. I find it really hard to want to eat now. My stomach's swelling must've gone down at that point. Just keep drinking tons of Water, and always take you 2x day prescribed antacid.

3 month bloodwork
@@Shaunie That's great! I don't know why but I'm really excited to see my first blood work too. My pre-op for my band to sleeve revision was perfect, and although I feel really good (post op day 29), I so want to see another blood test to see how my body adapted to my sleeve. Congratz!

Keep Us Motivated - What Can You Do Now That You Couldn't Do Before?
Band to sleeve here. Sitting comfortably in an airplane seat and have lots of wiggle room, even sit criss-cross applesauce style on the long flights. I remember spilling over and the seat belt was all the way to the end. I always felt I had to sit by family so I wouldn't feel like I was imposing on someone's space.

16 Days Post-OP and loving it!
@@TheRev lol I had just posted the other day on some thread, that the day after weeks of pre-op diet and weeks of a liquid diet, when I was able to go to pureed/soft foods, I swear I felt like a straitjacket was removed. The freedom . Glad to see you feeling good. ^^ Glad I can edit. Autocorrect is never correct. lol

September 2016 Sleevers!
I agree with the others. I find it very difficult to understand why your doctor said there is nothing he/she could do at this point. I would find another doctor/bariatric center who is willing to put in the appeal for you. Mine was denied and my bariatric center fought like crazy to get me approved.

Starting weight 340 - age 50
Wow, such inspiration in this thread! I look at it this way, in 10 years, you'll be ten years older anyway. In 20 years, you'll be 20 years older anyway. Might as well do it now, and be healthy for the next 30+ years ^^

Nicotine test
Mine required I stop all nicotine (smoking and/or vaping a month away from surgery). Just for reference, it took me 11 days of zero nicotine to clear. Just know they understand how difficult it is, and will work with you.

Genepro ideas?
@ Thank you ^^ and you're very welcome. I think I'll go make some coffee with creme with a tablespoon of GENEPRO. Have a great day all!

Genepro ideas?
@@kimini Thank you. Yeah, I love the product because before the sleeve, I had a band since 2008, and it was often way too tight and I couldn't get any solids down for months, just Soup. I was desperate because my total Protein... etc. was poor and I can't handle normal Protein shakes they are far too sweet for me. I started GENEPRO as practically my sole protein source during that time, and since then my protein labs are perfect (yay).

How much weight did you lose on your liquid diet?
I didn't lose much, if I don't have some kind of fruits/vegetables my weight stalls (everyone is different) or my body refuses to let go any of my Water. I suffer from edema. I didn't start multi-Vitamins until post-op. I'm post-op day 28 and for the first 10 days (liquid phase), again my body didn't want to release water at first. I didn't lose anything, I gained from the IV fluids. Now last time I checked I'm 26 lbs down. And like @@Montana Gal said, it's main purpose is to shrink your liver for a safer surgery.

Incision Scars
When I got my lap band in 2009, it began fading at about 1.5 months and continued to fade for another year, basically till invisible. I read they continue to fade for about 2 years and after that, it stops. The incisions from my sleeve seem much larger with staple scars /cry but I just bought some mederma advanced, and I'll start using that. (If anyone has another product they swear by, please share )
