Some aren't hungry and others are really hungry (more that they think they are hungry). When the stomach makes excess acid = mimics hunger or when the stomach is swollen/healing=mimics hunger). I was like you, I was so surprised I was hungry. About day 16 or day 17, my hunger disappeared. I find it really hard to want to eat now. My stomach's swelling must've gone down at that point. Just keep drinking tons of Water, and always take you 2x day prescribed antacid.

@rostersrm

Whenever asked what is it that I wish I knew before I surgery, I always list that. Like you, I was asking myself "Wow, what is going on?" :) We do all heal differently so your hunger may drop off even sooner than mine or vice versa. Also, throughout the whole time, it may be excess acid on any given day, but being aware of this phenomenon. I think makes it easier for us to deal with. ^^
